Love your reaction! Enkidu is a beast made of clay designed to restrain Gilgamesh and bring him back to the gods for rebelling. He instead became his best and only friend. Some versions on the story seemed to even believe they might of been lovers. The chains Gilgamesh uses to restrain Iskandar is Enkidu but they can also be summoned as a servant. Because they are a shape-shifting beast they lived amongst the animals before basing their human form off of a women. This why the wolf seemed to be able to summon him and why he understands animals. He was destroyed to punish Gilgamesh and died in his friend's arms. Gilgamesh declared Enkidu was more then just a tool he was his only friend. That is why I love that they get to see each other after all this time. Enkidu doesn't have a gender for they are not human but usually is called they or him. There is more to the lore and I recommend checking it out. I really love Enkidu and Gilgamesh and I'm really excited for this series!
It would be more accurate to call him "it" or "him". "He" seems to be what those who cared for him called him, to show that they viewed him as the "beautiful boy of green" (as Siduri puts it), rather than just an object.
The reason this Fate is different from Zero is because its written by Narita while Zero is written by Urobuchi going off of Nasu's ideas for the 4th Grail war and they both got Nasu's approval.Unlimited blade works,Heavens Feel,& the Fate route are written purely by Nasu himself but what you can find in all of Narita's stories is that he loves having an ensemble cast and he makes each character as interesting or more than the last without it getting tedious imo! if you think this is a lot of characters just wait til the anime starts lol

enkidu is the reason why gilgamesh has the "fling things till I win" mentality/strategy. They were so evenly matched in their first fight (in their original lives) that gil was pushed to just fling whatever he could pull from his treasury.
The old man at the end is Zelretch. A vampire from Tsukihime with the ability to observe and travel across parallel worlds. It might interest you to know he both created and taught the Tohsaka family their jewel magecraft, among other things throughout the setting
@@platinumclaw There was an interesting discussion about this in the Beasts Lair. The believe that Tsukihime Zel defeated CM but got bitten and failed to truly destroy him, that's why vampires are so powerful and pretty much anti servant existences since they reject and overpower human order. While the Fate one managed to properly defeat him completely making fate's humam order be the superior force and thus leadind to servants as defence mechanism instead of just relying of Type Moon.
Enkidu is Gilgamesh's only friend (he mentioned in Zero that there was only one person who he would ever acknowledge as a "friend). So they're basically the world's first and oldest sidekick, and the two are roughly equal in power. Also Enkidu is genderless so people usually use they/them pronouns.
Well he uses boku which is the male pronouns so dont get it twisted but yes his genderless never seen him using female pronouns tho but both is fine imo
btw enkidu is the "only friend" that gilgamesh talks about to iskandar in fate/zero, he is a weapon created by the gods to subjugate gilgamesh (because he was abandoning the gods) but they turn friends
So "Jack the Ripper" is, to put it simply, the world's most famous Serial Killer. He was active in London during 1888, if memory serves. Anyway, he is believed to have **definitely** killed 5 Prostitutes, but some have theorized it's possible he had many more dead bodies under his belt, and like one of the Prostitutes he killed, simply didn't have the time to carry out his MO upon the bodies. What's his MO, you ask? The almost surgical-like butchering of the bodies, one of which that was so bad she was almost completely unrecognizable. The butchering became more and more extreme as his murders progressed, with only one body after the first escaping the hellish post mortem ravaging, because he supposedly didn't have time to get started. Which is a bit strange, because he then went on to kill and proceed to butcher another prostitute literally like... 3 blocks away not even an hour later. He was never caught. The only reason I say "He" is literally because most "witnesses" believed it to be a man. The only reason we have the name "Jack the Ripper" is because it's a pen name he supposedly wrote under to Scotland Yard in order to taunt them for not catching him. I believe there's at least 40 of them, perhaps even over 100, and as far as we know none of them are from the actual killer. There's some that have fome evidence in their favor. For example, one was sent to Scotland Yard packaged alongside a human kidney that the writer claims is from the most recent victim who was missing her kidneys. The letter then goes onto claim the reason the second isn't there is because Jack ate it. That is evidence, but the thing is, it's not conclusive. Why? We're talking about the late 1800s. Forensics isn't really up to snuff to be able to tell if the kidney actually belongs to the victim in question or not. Forensics wasn't really up to snuff for a lot, honestly. And nowadays, none of the evidence forensics COULD be used with to solve the Ripper case simply hasn't been preserved well enough to actually be used. So... Yeah. In the end, Jack was never caught. There ARE theories that after his killings stopped with the 5th prostitute he moved to America, and became the first serial killer in USA history: H. H. Holmes. This too, however, is merely theory. So yeah, as you can tell, Jack the Ripper is arguably the most mysterious figure in "modern" history. And since nobody knows who the fucker is, he's represented in Fate very uniquely.

Enkidu was the one who forced Gil to use this style of fighting we are so used to weapons firing out endlessly. Enkidu is also the chains of heaven we see Gil uses every once in a while
incase you dont know, aside from 7 classes there are other class in Fate such as Ruler, Watcher and Avenger you will know some of these class if you watch other fate series
Seven Main Classes and Extra Classes. Extra usually replace berserker, but yeah, there's a lot of classes other than the seven original one. There are AVENGER, RULER and FOREIGNER. There's also MOON CANCER, ALTER-EGO, and PRETENDER. There's also SHIELDER, BEAST, SAVIOR/SAVER, WATCHER, GUNNER, VOYAGER, FAKER, and probably many more yet to be announced.
If you want to know more of Waver go and watch Lord el melloi ii case files and if you want to know more Enkidu and Gil go watch Fate Grand Order Babylonia, Fate is hard to understand for you guys but if you curious then Welcome to Hell with us, with Extra you guys might love Fate/Apocrypha if you guys watch it
before watching the actual show when it comes out i highly recommend checking out some of the other fate series to get context and better understanding of some of these characters Lord el melloi for Waver after events of zero and how he got to this point Apocrypha for some servants like Ruler class and waver a little Grand order storyline for gil n enkidu but u gotta watch thru the whole series to that point to understand the main plot etc
If yall get a chance in the near future, I definitely recommend reacting to the Fate Grand Order memorial movie. While it is just a 4 minute short, its quite beautifully made and something I believe you two would enjoy a lot.
-Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia was where Enkidu first appeared in fate anime. They showed and slightly explained Enkidu and Gilgamesh backstory over there. You can check it out if you are curious but... the anime of Fate/Grand Order was not for everyone's tastes. Some like it, some don't for various reason. Mostly because it was an adaptation of game and there was only few parts of the game story was adapted in anime. So there was a sense of incompleteness and confusion. That and some parts of the game story was said to be not adapted well in the anime. For me, I like Fate/Grand Order Babylonia, mostly because it broadens the characterization of Gilgamesh over there instead of the arrogant tyrannical king we know in the main series. But compared to Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night... eh. Still, Fate/Grand Order Babylonia is ok as a ... "side dish" I guess. Well in any case, its not like it would affect your watching even if you haven't watch Fate/Grand Order Babylonia to enjoy this series. They're seperate stories and takes place in different timelines. Just sharing things if you were curious and want to know more about Enkidu. -Potion of Youth that Gilgamesh have (The one that Gilgamesh was about to drink before hearing Enkidu and decided to give it to Tine): A Noble Phantasm that Gilgamesh have. I think it was based from the story when Gigamesh was still alive, tried to find the herb of immortality to escape death. In the end, he lost it to a snake after getting it and instead of getting angry, he just laughed and have an realization about some essence of humanity. ANYWAY it turns him into a child if he drank the potion. And as a child, he was WAY DIFFERENT from his older self (the part where Gilgamesh said that if his younger self sees him now would likely kill himself says that much). Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya shows that. No need to watch this too. Coooompleeetly seperate series and also happen in alternate timeline. -The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II shows how Waver Velvet ([Iskandar] Rider's Master from Fate/Zero) become Lord El-Melloi II. World building and how magecraft works was prevalent in the story. It started as Light Novel and was adapted to anime. Unfortunately, the anime skipped volume 1-3 and only adapted volume 4-5. The anime was utter mess, it lacked things. People watched the anime expecting brilliant detective deductions based from the title (like Sherlock Holmes thing) but didn't get that because well... how can logic deduction work in a world where magic exists? In the story, Lord El-Melloi focuses on "why" not "how" when doing his cases and the reasons why he did this and that was hard to present in anime format. In any case, the anime become just an advertisement to read Light Novel especially if you were more curious about how Fate world works. In grand scheme of things, I don't think its important for casual fans to read and watch. Just know that Waver will always become Lord El-Melloi II in any timeline. -Ruler: No that is not Saber. Ruler is another Servant-Class that is different to Saber-Class. I'm not familiar with it but from my understanding, if something was intruding the authority of the Holy Grail, the Holy Grail itself will summon a Ruler-Class as a neutral entity. They were summoned by the Grail, not to join the war but to protect the concept of the Holy Grail War. Additionally, Ruler-Class have command spells for other servants. They're like mediator I think. Most well-known Ruler Class was Jeanne d'Arc from Fate/Apocrypha anime. I haven't watched Fate/Apocrypha but from what I heard that, it was a mess of an anime too. Mostly because, it introduces a lot of characters and the story just crumbles because of it.
For me, Fate/Apocrypha has good "side stories", but main plot suffers because they basically abandoned what I (and many others) believe should have been the main characters, and introduced a completely new, useless one. Still, if you like fate, it´s not a bad watch, and at least gives you an idea, a taste of what great servants could be. (Just fails to deliver on a few of them.)

Enkidu is a beast made of clay designed to restrain Gilgamesh and bring him back to the gods for rebelling. He instead became his best and only friend. Some versions on the story seemed to even believe they might of been lovers. The chains Gilgamesh uses to restrain Iskandar is Enkidu but they can also be summoned as a servant. Because they are a shape-shifting beast they lived amongst the animals before basing their human form off of a women. This why the wolf seemed to be able to summon him and why he understands animals. He was destroyed to punish Gilgamesh and died in his friend's arms. Gilgamesh declared Enkidu was more then just a tool he was his only friend. That is why I love that they get to see each other after all this time. Enkidu doesn't have a gender for they are not human but usually is called they or him. There is more to the lore and I recommend checking it out. I really love Enkidu and Gilgamesh and I'm really excited for this series!
It would be more accurate to call him "it" or "him". "He" seems to be what those who cared for him called him, to show that they viewed him as the "beautiful boy of green" (as Siduri puts it), rather than just an object.
The reason this Fate is different from Zero is because its written by Narita while Zero is written by Urobuchi going off of Nasu's ideas for the 4th Grail war and they both got Nasu's approval.Unlimited blade works,Heavens Feel,& the Fate route are written purely by Nasu himself but what you can find in all of Narita's stories is that he loves having an ensemble cast and he makes each character as interesting or more than the last without it getting tedious imo! if you think this is a lot of characters just wait til the anime starts lol

enkidu is the reason why gilgamesh has the "fling things till I win" mentality/strategy. They were so evenly matched in their first fight (in their original lives) that gil was pushed to just fling whatever he could pull from his treasury.

There was an interesting discussion about this in the Beasts Lair.
The believe that Tsukihime Zel defeated CM but got bitten and failed to truly destroy him, that's why vampires are so powerful and pretty much anti servant existences since they reject and overpower human order.
While the Fate one managed to properly defeat him completely making fate's humam order be the superior force and thus leadind to servants as defence mechanism instead of just relying of Type Moon.

Enkidu is Gilgamesh's only friend (he mentioned in Zero that there was only one person who he would ever acknowledge as a "friend). So they're basically the world's first and oldest sidekick, and the two are roughly equal in power.
Also Enkidu is genderless so people usually use they/them pronouns.

So "Jack the Ripper" is, to put it simply, the world's most famous Serial Killer. He was active in London during 1888, if memory serves. Anyway, he is believed to have **definitely** killed 5 Prostitutes, but some have theorized it's possible he had many more dead bodies under his belt, and like one of the Prostitutes he killed, simply didn't have the time to carry out his MO upon the bodies.
What's his MO, you ask? The almost surgical-like butchering of the bodies, one of which that was so bad she was almost completely unrecognizable. The butchering became more and more extreme as his murders progressed, with only one body after the first escaping the hellish post mortem ravaging, because he supposedly didn't have time to get started. Which is a bit strange, because he then went on to kill and proceed to butcher another prostitute literally like... 3 blocks away not even an hour later.
He was never caught. The only reason I say "He" is literally because most "witnesses" believed it to be a man. The only reason we have the name "Jack the Ripper" is because it's a pen name he supposedly wrote under to Scotland Yard in order to taunt them for not catching him. I believe there's at least 40 of them, perhaps even over 100, and as far as we know none of them are from the actual killer. There's some that have fome evidence in their favor. For example, one was sent to Scotland Yard packaged alongside a human kidney that the writer claims is from the most recent victim who was missing her kidneys. The letter then goes onto claim the reason the second isn't there is because Jack ate it.
That is evidence, but the thing is, it's not conclusive. Why? We're talking about the late 1800s. Forensics isn't really up to snuff to be able to tell if the kidney actually belongs to the victim in question or not. Forensics wasn't really up to snuff for a lot, honestly. And nowadays, none of the evidence forensics COULD be used with to solve the Ripper case simply hasn't been preserved well enough to actually be used.
So... Yeah. In the end, Jack was never caught. There ARE theories that after his killings stopped with the 5th prostitute he moved to America, and became the first serial killer in USA history: H. H. Holmes.
This too, however, is merely theory.
So yeah, as you can tell, Jack the Ripper is arguably the most mysterious figure in "modern" history. And since nobody knows who the fucker is, he's represented in Fate very uniquely.
I think you guys should look into the following just to get ready for Fate Strange. Because it REALLY will give you context. Super stoked to see more reactions~!

-Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia was where Enkidu first appeared in fate anime. They showed and slightly explained Enkidu and Gilgamesh backstory over there. You can check it out if you are curious but... the anime of Fate/Grand Order was not for everyone's tastes.
Some like it, some don't for various reason. Mostly because it was an adaptation of game and there was only few parts of the game story was adapted in anime. So there was a sense of incompleteness and confusion. That and some parts of the game story was said to be not adapted well in the anime.
For me, I like Fate/Grand Order Babylonia, mostly because it broadens the characterization of Gilgamesh over there instead of the arrogant tyrannical king we know in the main series. But compared to Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night... eh. Still, Fate/Grand Order Babylonia is ok as a ... "side dish" I guess.
Well in any case, its not like it would affect your watching even if you haven't watch Fate/Grand Order Babylonia to enjoy this series. They're seperate stories and takes place in different timelines. Just sharing things if you were curious and want to know more about Enkidu.
-Potion of Youth that Gilgamesh have (The one that Gilgamesh was about to drink before hearing Enkidu and decided to give it to Tine): A Noble Phantasm that Gilgamesh have. I think it was based from the story when Gigamesh was still alive, tried to find the herb of immortality to escape death. In the end, he lost it to a snake after getting it and instead of getting angry, he just laughed and have an realization about some essence of humanity.
ANYWAY it turns him into a child if he drank the potion. And as a child, he was WAY DIFFERENT from his older self (the part where Gilgamesh said that if his younger self sees him now would likely kill himself says that much). Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya shows that. No need to watch this too. Coooompleeetly seperate series and also happen in alternate timeline.
-The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II shows how Waver Velvet ([Iskandar] Rider's Master from Fate/Zero) become Lord El-Melloi II. World building and how magecraft works was prevalent in the story. It started as Light Novel and was adapted to anime. Unfortunately, the anime skipped volume 1-3 and only adapted volume 4-5.
The anime was utter mess, it lacked things. People watched the anime expecting brilliant detective deductions based from the title (like Sherlock Holmes thing) but didn't get that because well... how can logic deduction work in a world where magic exists? In the story, Lord El-Melloi focuses on "why" not "how" when doing his cases and the reasons why he did this and that was hard to present in anime format. In any case, the anime become just an advertisement to read Light Novel especially if you were more curious about how Fate world works. In grand scheme of things, I don't think its important for casual fans to read and watch. Just know that Waver will always become Lord El-Melloi II in any timeline.
-Ruler: No that is not Saber. Ruler is another Servant-Class that is different to Saber-Class. I'm not familiar with it but from my understanding, if something was intruding the authority of the Holy Grail, the Holy Grail itself will summon a Ruler-Class as a neutral entity. They were summoned by the Grail, not to join the war but to protect the concept of the Holy Grail War. Additionally, Ruler-Class have command spells for other servants. They're like mediator I think.
Most well-known Ruler Class was Jeanne d'Arc from Fate/Apocrypha anime.
I haven't watched Fate/Apocrypha but from what I heard that, it was a mess of an anime too. Mostly because, it introduces a lot of characters and the story just crumbles because of it.
For me, Fate/Apocrypha has good "side stories", but main plot suffers because they basically abandoned what I (and many others) believe should have been the main characters, and introduced a completely new, useless one.
Still, if you like fate, it´s not a bad watch, and at least gives you an idea, a taste of what great servants could be. (Just fails to deliver on a few of them.)
