The surprising thing about the romance in the movie is that the two lead actors (Mackenzie Astin and Katie Barberi) are only two years apart in age in real life. In fact, I think they were actually dating during the production of this movie (but don't quote me on that). She just happened to look older than him during the making of this movie. That means that they're romance in the film is not necessarily creepy. However, you could argue that the way she's presented and sexualized in the movie is still creepy considering how she was (probably) underage when this movie was made.
Fun fact: One time, a friend of mine told me Star Wars was the worst movie of all time... when i asked him "what about The Garbage Pail Kids Movie?", he told me "i don't even know what that is"...

It would've been about killer mutated dolls, almost sounds like a mix between CHUD and Dolls. I think the horror tone would have worked better with this franchise.
The only movies I really consider "bad" are just the boring ones. I'm a sucker for any kind of practical effects, no matter how cheesy, and a lifetime of watching MST3K has toughened me up. That said, this movie is a lot lol
I kinda feel the same thing about Batman and Robin. Bad, yes, but it's got its good elements sprinkled here and there like the music, the more dramatic scenes and some of the production design. But people seem to call that the worst superhero movie ever when Catwoman and Max Steel exist. Plus B&R lead to the Nolan films, so there's that, too.
While the puppets could definitely do with a higher budget, I legitimately feel like if this had been an independent project, it could have been really good. I think the movie is so dark and gross and weird partially because it understands that Garbage Pail cards aren't really for kids. Kids like them, sure but they aren't who the cards are for. The cards are for teenagers and young adults ho were put off by the cabbage patch kids craze, older siblings who had to watch their family spiral into madness over these dolls in 1983. So if the movie had been allowed to be for teenagers, it could have been a fun movie that makes light of oversterile kids media without having to be kids media. So no more kid protagonist, they could make more of the jokes they wanted, and people could watch it without having to think about what message kids would get from it. That way they could retain the spirit of the humor that people are meant to get out of garbage pail kid cards.
I collected Garbage Pail cards at school so I was hyped to see this movie in the theater. I walked out with my sister well before the movie ended and hung out at the arcade next door until our parents picked us up. We still cite this as the worst movie we saw as kids.

So for years, it was an urban legend that it was this really vile thing akin to the trading stickers they were based on. Then one golden day, it was released to DVD, unearthed after decades, and... it was basically a dull, lame, ultra-safe series that was like a completely toned down version of Denis the Menace, but with wacky kids that weren't all that gross or wild. I would have done a video on the thing, had I got my crap together and actually bothered to do a review channel years back, but with a series that had this massive hype and legend behind it, it was just soul crushing to see it was just a mediocre cashgrab that would have been completely forgotten had it been released proper. Secondly, if anything, I don't think they pushed the GPK movie's grossness far enough, and frankly played it safe by making it a moral movie. What they should have done was make the GPK's the antagonists, but in the sense that they're not so much evil but wild and dangerous mutant kids who just want to cause as much chaos as possible because they think it's fun. Trolls that don't want to explicitly hurt anyone on purpose, but want to get a rise out of people. Maybe have the Garbage Pail in question be a portal to the strange world they come from, so they protagonists only have to send them from whence they came. Go full Looney Tunes here. Make the protagonist a lovable, but clumsy doofus that's trying to do the right thing. Give him a competent kid sidekick for that audience surrogate.
To be honest,as much as I hate this movie,I can see a reboot happen.But instead of live action,I can see it go for an animated approach.Though I doubt something like that will happen anytime soon.

While I still do think that reviews are a good way for somebody to tell if they would want to watch movie of TV series (after all, that’s why reviews exist and why I assume you’ve made a few reviews in this channel yourself). There certainly is a good point about not treating them as gospel and coming to your own conclusions that you brought up in this video. And its actually convinced me to try to watch movies that I see get reviewed myself to see if I agree with the review. Now, I don’t know if I’m going to go so far as to watch the Drawn Together Movie, but I will try more in the future to not just assume that every review of media I see is an objective and true one. Heck, I disagreed with you SO hard on your Willy Wonka review, so I’d like to think that I’ve already does this in the past somewhat.
Everyone has their own opinion on things, including the Garbage Pail Kids, which I don't think I will ever watch, because of the gross-out humor and pandering that it is just flooded with, but I will say I kind of love the song that the kids have sang in the movie. Additionally, I will say that I think that Doug Walker's hatred of this movie to an extent was a bit because in the beginning his channel was more based on his persona and running gags of being a live-action cartoon, but now he has reinvented himself and has started to go into more details regarding his reviews and movie media, so if he will judge it now I believe he would be made a deeper dive into the movie in a sense if people request it. Then again I am just saying.

And then they realise that they unintentionally made woody throw buzz out of the window because they made woody upset, and then they would have worked with woody to get buzz up to the window and then talk and exchange apologies, i know its a bit out there but it really pisses me off, i really dont like it, if anobody disagrees its ok, this is just my own take on the story and its my way fixing something that pisses me off to no end.
i would argue its a ok satire of childrens films and the tropes in them, purposefully making things dark, disgusting, and uncomfortable to make fun of kids movies. again, imo, its just alright

For intense when the RUclipsrs Arlo & Uncle Al made videos criticizing the game Kirby Star Allies, there fans jumped on the band wagon saying that it was an awful game! I personally like Star Allies and think people blew it WAY out of the water when critiquing the game. I'm not saying that the game can't be criticized but what I'm saying is that after Arlo & Uncle Al's fans watched their videos, they thought Star Allies was not only a bad game but even some reviewers called it one of the worst games they ever played when they probably haven't even touched the game itself. Also, even though I don't support harassing the guy, Arlo jugged the ENTIRE KIRBY FRANCHISE after just playing Star Allies! Ya Arlo's fans can be that much of an example of a flock of sheep.

I'm someone who tries to give things a chance, especially if it's massively hated online. Sometimes it works out (a certain TV show that was majorly hated is one of my all-time favorite shows and I think everything after the first season of Star Trek Discovery is pretty decent) and sometimes it doesn't (Rings of Power, She-Hulk, Velma, the list sadly goes on more often than not.).
In your regards about the message of the movie being good for children, but the Garbage Pail Kids being ugly on the inside too, i pretty much agree... i already felt that long before watching this video...

Drawn Together movie is definitely deserves a worst animated movie. I've wiped it from my memory but it still haunts me.
