    It would be nice for an app to take data from an apple watch and sleep tracker to calculate your recovery

      Dause DuVall Yeah unfortunately apple isn’t focused on performance and recovery, instead it seems like they’re focused on general health. Those features would really help people so much, especially if performance is their goal.

    calorie burn "a little inaccurate" major understatement. This thing is so off including day strain/recovery relative to how I feel. Feel bad for anyone who actually paid $500 for this.

      Jeff I find that some of my athletes are off on calorie burn, but mines not that off since I wear the strap very closely without much movement. The strain/recovery is shit sometimes for sure. Not the bes tech out there for sure, luckily I don’t pay for it lol.

      @@ArielHernandez1 You must not have been resting the day of this video I notice your calorie burn is 2880, did you do a quick marathon before shooting this video? lol

      Haha, not a marathon, but I did train in the morning for 3hours and then took care of errands. Recorded this later that night.

      @@Jeff-rx4de The calorie burn takes account for both resting calorie burn and the calories burned during activity

      @ArielHernandez1  5 лет назад +1

      @@veist2930 Yeah thats correct, but one thing I dislike about any wearable heart rate related calorie tracker is that it doesnt take into account actual oxygen uptake. So it's always going to be a prediction based off an algorithm and it might be accurate one day and inaccurate another. That's why I always look at mean calories burned weekly and adjust based off this method versus daily. It should be known that if you do more activity, eat more to recover and perform better. But if weight loss for physique is the goal, gradually decrease calories overtime regardless of the activity. I would say the majority of my athlete's who utilize the whoop do see a great return on investment on their performance, although they didn't pay for it they love it, and if I had to pay for it I would if performance was the goal.

    Is there an alternative to the whoop?

      SpartanFit Spartan There’s a device called the Oura Ring which gives a similar profile but worn on the finger. As far as wrist devices go, I don’t know of any worth trading the whoop in for.
