Yeah, the titles is misleading, but as a sewist, sometimes you do make the neck trim too big, so this is the right fix for that. Elsewhere, I have seen a hack with sewing elastic that I used last week. Assuming you have a few basic hand sewing skills....open up the stitching in the neck ribbing and thread some elastic through it. Pull the elastic until the neck fits as you want. Pin the elastic together, trim off excess elastic, sew it together and unpin. Now with matching thread, close up the open seam of the ribbing. I think 1/4 inch elastic is sufficient, but you may also consider elastic almost the same width as the ribbing.

There are 2 possibilities if doing an alteration: 1 - carefully separate the original neckband, shorten it and then reattach, evenly distributed; that's the most common solution 2 - if that's not possible, you might be able to take a small strip from the hem and shorten the t-shirt; in fact, I often like to shorten my knit tops so they don't end at my widest point.
Watching this video is like seeing a title that says how to dye a faded shirt and watch her sew a brand new one:( Change the title to, “How to sew neckline on a new shirt to prevent sagging”.

You could try turning the stretched neckline into a feature by sewing stretch lace or sewing a channel and inserting cord or ribbon or even making a cold shoulder style by adding shoe string straps over the shoulders
Thank you for this good video. However why do you multiply by 0.8 for the neckband length? I understand that the neckband should be cut shorter than neck measurement on top but why 0.8 specifically?

You could also use this technique using a coordinating fabric -- maybe cut from an old or thrifted t-shirt -- to salvage your top.
Or thread sewing elastic through the neckline ribbing casing to gather it in again.

Установленная норма. Для малотянущихся 0,9. ДЛЯ СРЕДНИХ 0,8. Для стльнотянущихся 0,75.
