    It works great however doing this will significantly shorten the length in the front of your shirt.

      Thanks for sharing that observation! Interestingly, I didn't notice this effect on my tops when using this method. It might vary depending on the fabric or the original fit of the shirt 😊

    I loved both styles! I am a (super) short person - 4’10” - in a longer top world -> it sometimes looks like I am wearing a dress or a nightgown instead of a shirt with slacks! (It doesn’t help that I am in a size 3x!). Any ideas on shortening the length of a T-shirt or knit shirt without making it look like I put ‘ruffles’ on the bottom after sewing of the shortened shirt? Thanks for all your suggestions and demonstrating your techniques! 😊

    • @knittingmagic1
      @knittingmagic1  3 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience! For shortening a T-shirt without adding a ruffled look, you might try a simple hemming technique where you cut the shirt to your desired length plus a little extra for the hem, fold the extra fabric inside, and sew it flat. This can give a clean, tailored finish to the shirt. Alternatively, using a fabric adhesive or hemming tape can be a no-sew option that also avoids the ruffled effect. I'm glad you're finding the techniques helpful, and I hope this tip works well for you too! 😊👚

    • @jojosewist8921
      @jojosewist8921 3 месяца назад +1

      You could cut a new shape if desired, curved, etc. Also by adding slits on the sides may fit you better when finished. The fabric adhesive or hem rape is a good idea to prevent the ruffle look.

    Thank you! I have several tops that I love but really can’t wear because the “crew” necklines way to big. I’ve considered giving them all away. I’ve been looking for a way to adjust them to fit better but couldn’t think of an attractive solution. I’m so grateful for this post as it is the perfect solution. In a sense, I’ve now got about 12 ‘new’ well-fitting and attractive tops via a very easy sewing solution. No more faux turtleneck cover-ups.

    Спереди хорошо смотрятся обе модели.А что делать сзади? Ведь плечевые швы сползают на полочки, перекашивается пройма, изделие "тянет".

    • @knittingmagic1
      @knittingmagic1  4 месяца назад +1

      Спасибо, что обратили внимание на это! На мой взгляд и сзади смотрится нормально, тем более что первое, что бросается в глаза - это именно интересные детали спереди. И самое главное - это то, что больше нет эффекта вытянувшейся горловины.

    Al a ser el segundo se revienta el hilo

    • @knittingmagic1
      @knittingmagic1  15 дней назад

      Siento que estés teniendo ese problema con el hilo. A veces, la tensión o el tipo de hilo pueden afectar el resultado. Te recomendaría usar un hilo más resistente o ajustar la tensión al trabajar. ¡Espero que esto te ayude y puedas seguir adelante sin inconvenientes! Gracias por tu comentario y si necesitas más consejos, no dudes en preguntar. 😊

Isso ajuda a destacar cada etapa do processo, especialmente para quem está aprendendo. Espero que isso tenha facilitado a compreensão das técnicas demonstradas!
