Great stuff. 👍 Your better half is doing well considering this is her first time seriously 4WDing the VHC and these types of terrain. Though one advise that I would like to share with her for better safety on water crossings, is for her to wait until the vehicle in front has completely crossed the water before attempting to cross it herself. That way if the vehicle in front is held up/bogged/get into trouble etc, she (& her vehicle) is not in the water itself and/or not in the way, if the lead vehicle had to reverse back. Just like what happened when you had to do several attempts to climb one of the more steeper exits, the Patrol was waiting on the water - not ideal. Luckily the water was shallow. Great background info and tips shared as always. 👌
Loved the Episode. I was the guy camping up on Mt Murray when you drove past haha. Remember talking to your old man. Bummer the cloud came in just before you arrived. I think you were helping a guy who lost a wheel bit further down. Mt Murray camp spot is amazing 👍
Those drone shots really put into perspective how bad the bushfires were down that way.. the amount of dead timber is frightening and to think that’ll all be fuel for the next one.. but Mother Nature does her thing and turns a new leaf and give you some incredible landscape and views.. love ya work mate, good series this one..
Awesome episode Tyler. Came up from the Buckland valley last weekend and followed basically that route - zigged when we should have zagged though and missed the Mt Murray summit! Just gives me an excuse to get back up there.
That discussion about fuel makes me glad I'm running the long-range tank in my ute. Haven't really ever had to worry about fuel on any of my adventures.
Just came across your channel mate. Loving it all. We’re heading up to the Cape mid May for the first time towing a mid sized camper trailer. Thanks for all the info and advice 👌
Hey you just got to hope their is no dead animal laying in the water above. I have see a dead dear in a river with many campers using the river down stream !
Another great vid. Keep em coming Tyler! Also I'd be keen to know what camera, and rig you used on the bonnet of your Patrol. some ripper camera shots.. Also the way you stop talking, and stayed with the drone footage for the Blue rag track was awesome. Just captured the grandeur perfectly in my opinion.
Awesome content as always. It's relatable to so many of us that don't build rock crawlers but enjoy having a go. I think you've come up with 2 new slogans in that vid... "let's take a shortcut" and "it used to be there".
Looking to go there around Easter next year... Last time I was there it snowed on our camp, it was cold but just so beautiful... You have shown how awesome this place is, well done.👍
great scenic episode! mountainous terrain ! very well done! looks like you guys had a great trip away! can't wait to see the next video on the GU Patrol! long range tank install!!
Nice one Tyler... Gotta laugh at ASPW, says Patrol owners are bogans, yet has never done a real trip in the VHC or Coffs or Telegraph Track. I guess driving around the flatest state in AU isn't much of a challenge for his Troopy
I don't understand the hate he sends their way. Every car community has its users who like to handle their drives differently, shouldn't mean it's one in, all in. I'd dare any person who speaks out against Patrols to take a drive in Pete's GU. That thing is set up so bloody well and makes most tracks look like a walk in the park, no bashing the limiter whatsoever.
I used to watch Three Fathers years back, but then came to realise that he's just a sour, self-important, narrow-minded, git who talks down to everyone. I came across the video in question and didn't watch it, but read the comments with interest and knew exactly what he'd put out, very typical of him. He should have removed that video and done another one saying that he's sorry for putting out such garbage while in a fit of bad temper, but no, he just kept digging.
Just hope that no wombat or a mob of wallabies were taking a dump just above the hill where you collected your water. 🤣😁 Just to be extra safe, why not get a removable water filter to fit on your jerry can? That way you can fit it on your jerry can prior to pouring the collected water into your main tanks - it's good added precaution. I have a LifeStraw brand and I use it to drink water straight from rivers etc. And I always keep one in my 4WD and one in my hiking backpack. Thanks for all the names of tracks shown on your episodes. It's good to know which tracks you did. 👍
When did you do this? 3:39 I had to winch up that mid January. There is an excellent waterhole where you can jump off the rocks just up from Humffray junction. Wonder if you found it?
Great vid as always, you didnt mention what brand boots your patrol is running only size. Also can you do a rig rundown on the ultimate 9 patrol would love to know the name of the front bar hes running it looks mint.
Nav doesn't seem a very capable 4x4, the other vehicles leave it behind in terms of capability. This channel has sort of helped me decide, I think I'll go hilux probably at this stage.
Tyre shop stuffed us around and never got the spare in time so just went without it, never busted a tyre on all of our Vic High Country Trips or ever really, did a muddy 6-7 years ago on a sharp rock underwater on a tight creek run and then recently did one on the tyres that came with the patrol but they were 10 year old road tyres. So from my experience I calculated extreme low chance of needing a spare tyre/we have tyre repair kits/one of the other cars could make the drive in Melbourne to get one if it came to it.
It would be packed somewhere out of sight for sure. The barn doors on Patrols are known for developing cracks when you start to bump up the tyre size, plus a steel rim with the bigger neg offset would increase the strain too.

11:21 got me absolutely cackling mate, your little giggling just tops it off too. kai has no idea hahahahaha

Your production/editing is getting really sharp mate. That drone shot at around the 5min mark with the song is spot on 👌🏼
glad you enjoyed it mate!

I've never been to Vic high country, but through your vids I feel like I have been. You have great adventures Tyler, I enjoy every minute. Thanks
Thanks mate!
Kai making his comment on the dead trees was priceless. The older the kids get the cheekier they get. Keeps ya on your toes.
Haha yep!

Nice video mate 👍
Exactly why I got rid of my 4.5 ltr petrol 80 series and kept my D23 Navara fuel usage was ridiculous on big klm trips

Thanks mate! Snowed on us there last winter too!
21:22 has the Mrs borrowed your pajamas again mate? Great video again, over here is WA but the high country looks like my type of camping and 4WDing.
😂 Thanks mate!

Who cares what he thinks I’m sure he kisses himself goodnight.
And He Goes nowhere to busy telling RUclips how good he is from his arm chair.
I bet he just said that to increase his YT presence which appears to have worked.
Such an amazing place and great content mate 🚗
Wicked film mate, and thanks for sharing the adventures! Keep ‘em coming fella 🤙
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome footage across Blue Rag mate 👍👌
Love the vlogs I can't get over all the dead trees everywhere

This was first week of Jan, never found that waterhole

Cheers mate 👌 Tyres are 'Goodride' and rig rundown of the patrol is in the next part of the high country series 👍
@@TylerThompson90 That's cool. I don't think that big channel did a walkaround of Petes Patrol. It's one of the best.
Heaven in the backyard
Great one Buddy! That Blue Rag track is something else. Dude, what is with the typewriter sound? What gives?
Bloody awesome bro 😎
Another great one mate. You should be sponsored by tourism Victoria.
cheers mate!
Pretty sure that Patrol was in the latest 24/7 video
Yep
shyt the Gu is a beast NGL now i want one
I need to plan a high country trip! Haven’t been up there for a few years.
get onto it!
Look forward to your videos on a Sunday morning. How's Demmi (spelling?) finding 4wding and driving the Patrol?
thanks mate! Demi loves it haha!
epic guys great work
Noice Vid. What tyre pressures do you run ?
Cheers mate, around 18 PSI
How come you don't have an open fire? Rules and regs?
Na just prefer using the fire pit, especially for cooking on it, dad cooks on it every night
Why are all those trees dead? They don't look burnt.
Nav doesn't seem a very capable 4x4, the other vehicles leave it behind in terms of capability. This channel has sort of helped me decide, I think I'll go hilux probably at this stage.
You cannot compare an IFS with what the GU can do with 35’s and awesome $10k suspension
What are you smoking there buddy must be some good shit
@@travelsolo2677 I was comparing the mux more so
@@darrengray2309 Yes its skunk, and yeah it's pretty good!🤪
@@chriscoyne4827 ok, fair point'
Why don't you have a spare for the GU? Especially since its the only one with 35s

yeah mate
MEGA!!!
LOL - Out take pointing at imaginary MUX and its tyres 😂
haha! demi said the same thing!
Mu x has an aftermarket locker not factory im sure
Where's the Patrols spare wheel?
Is that Mount Hotham at min 17:17 ?
Not actual Mt Hotham but its not far from it, that's a few little buildings just out of town
@@TylerThompson90 Going to Blue Rag Track and Billy Goat Bluff in 2 wks time. Can't wait. I enjoy yr vids.. thanks.
Just noticed… were you driving the patrol without a spare? Or was it packed somewhere out of sight. Bit risky without a spare in the high country…
It would be packed somewhere out of sight for sure.

What is that message on Kai’s blue T shirt?
Pretty sure it's "Dad's Dumb Decisions" 😂
Man.. it's all so wonderful, but the food ruins everything, seriously, it's not helping your videos 🙂
