Why does Cyrano have an all-female Pokemon Team? That's the question I sought an answer for. Along the way, I learned that I have even more questions! You see, the VAST MAJORITY of Pokemon Trainers have a balanced mix of male and female Pokemon, or they match their team with their own sex. So then: Why does Bugsy only have female Pokemon? Why does Will only have female Pokemon? Why does Saguaro only have female Pokemon? Why does Grimsly ALMOST have only female Pokemon?
And what of the opposite? Why do Janine, Flannery, Winona, and Roxanne have male-only Pokemon teams? #pokemon #pokemontheory

Honestly, think there's a better reason for why Cyrano's team is all female. He used to be a pokemon breeder in his early days as a trainer. The shiny Blitzle he gives you? Likely his Zebstrika's son. The Unovan starters? So he can send more to Rowan t give to other trainers in Unova. He might be the head of Blueberry Academy, but I bet he still keeps up the pokemon breeding in his spare time. Heck he's probably how half of the pokemon in the Terarium even got there.
The Unova professor is Juniper. Rowan's the Sinnoh professor.

I’ve always viewed Grimsley having a female team because women traditionally are seen as more manipulative and deceptive which fits the dark type better, compared to men traditionally being more physically aggressive.

Also the whole dimorphism with his pokemon being of species that would typically be smaller if female can play into that too, like a small and dextrous team, better to hide and strike quickly like a sucker punch.

I didn't think about it much, but now that I am, since Cyrano is a "leading member" or the Unovan Pokémon community, he could have female starters to support conservation/breeding programs for suitable trainers. Gothitelle fits his "gentleman" aura with her lolita aesthetic.
That's what I think too, same for why he gives you a shiny Blitzle. It's probably his Zebstrika's son and might not even be the only shiny he's got from that team too. I see him as having used to be a big time pokemon breeder before he became Blueberry Academy's director.

This implies that Gothoritas using their power to kidnap children is a fairly common occurrence, especially in Galar and Paldea, where the dexes say they _will_ do it. The Gothitelle entry also acts as a good hook for a lovesick Gothitelle, most obviously protective style to minimize negativity within that lifespan, but possessive elements aren't out of the picture either, to stay within that lifespan. Whose to say his wasn't one of them? Whose to say that wedding ring isn't with her? *_Kanojo ga yandere ni natte kare o jibun no hanryo ni shinakatta to dare ga ierudeshou ka?_*
Here in Brazil we have a legendary creature called Boto (Yes, same as the river dolphin) who is a dolphin that goes out of the waters (Blueberry academy?) and change its own form to a human appearance, wearing a white smoking and hat (like Cyrano) to fire the ladies hearts...

Funny thing, during gen 5 I found that a rather big majority of players use male pokemon, so I trained a very offensive Milotic with Attract, it was my winning mon.

Gen 5 had the genies who were extremely meta relevant and always male, so I did hear attract was actually used as a counter for them once.

Pokémon doesn't just have an obsession with making mons too feminine to gloss over... They really like combining them with plants when they do. Like, on a list of all the waifumons, there is a hard to ignore number of grass types
it makes sense, most of the feminine grass types are based off of some sort of flower, and flowers are typically seen as a girly thing.
And here I thought fairy was the horny type

its a common fantasy trope that nature/forest spirits are normally beautiful young women.
I think Grimsley's mostly female team is meant to emphasis that he focuses on tricky tactics instead of power, so his females aren't the toughest of their species but that their smaller forms better suit his stealthy tactics.

Kinda surprised you didn't mention the trope of the male stage magicians having female assistants when talking about Will. Also that Will coding error could also be evidence that they at one point were gonna have Lorelei again, but she was later removed and replaced by Will. I'm not sure if that was ever confirmed or just a rumor, but it's certainly a possibility.

One small correction. Male bees will actually often be kicked out of their hives, since they don't work, and mating with their own mother would not be good. Once out of the hive they look for hives with available queens
It actually greatly depends on the type of bee. Due to how some bee types have managed to 'hack' the system of genetics, a male bee essentially only has 25% of the queen's DNA instead of 50% as I understand it. Now the true power of this is that, for the worker bees, protecting the queen will spread their DNA farther and wider than mating themselves, as they share 75% of the DNA of the queen instead of 50%. So for every worker that sacrifices themselves for the queen, that lets the queen birth 1.5 workers and is a net positive. This changes their biological code from "Find mate, reproduce" to "Protect the queen" and is seen in most eusocial insects. Its complicated and I don't fully understand it myself, but yeah.
Even these hives throw male bees out during the winter though.
And then they get kicked out again during winter to either 1. Freeze to death, 2. Get eaten or 3. Both

While he never has a full team of female pokémon, I think it's entertaining that Wallace's ace in the remakes is female when it wasn't in the original games (to my knowledge, most notable trainers have aces that are the same gender as themselves). It makes sense for him, I just think it's a nice touch.

I actually have been doing those for a while now. I call it a Haremlocke, and I’ve developed a mulligan system for first encounters being male or genderless. After finding a 3rd male pokemon, you can go to any area and grab the first female you find.

That is more common than you might have think, for some reason RUclipsrs who completely script their whole videos still often have that "editor note: [x]" stuff in their video because they can't grasp the idea of asking someone else about something. When put like that it's wildly obvious that there's no communication but if you go on a discord where the crew around a RUclipsr is you often see so soo much worse stuff.
I once saw an editor that happened to be Austrian announcing his resignation over a RUclipsr making a whole video about German words and not once checking the pronunciation (I'm not talking hard to pronounce umlaute, I'm talking about z being "ts" sound instead of "sss" sound.) yeah no, I also wouldn't be able to listen to the most disrespectful approach to my language for hours when bloody Google translate "play audio" would've fixed it somewhat well in seconds.

Your interpretation for Grimsley also fits with his theme of being a gambler. Instead of the smaller sized Pokémon being meaner, you can interpret them being "more Dark type" with underhanded tactics, deception and cunning to make up for their lack of power.
Looks like someone I can get along and enjoy a battle with.

Great video, but cyrano de Bergerac is an author that wrote sci fi, but the play was written by Edmond Rostand which also hailed from Bergerac and added little inspiration from his life in the play.

It's not a mistake, it's just how DVs work.
A Pokemon's gender is determined by its Atk DV. Jasmine's Pokemon all have 9 atk and are 50/50 gender ratio. The higher atk DVs cause the Pokemon to be male. For them to be female they'd have to be at least 7, and they probably didn't want to do that because she's a post game fight.😅
Since Grinsley is normally associated with gambling in the things I know him from, I figured that a mostly female team was about Lady Luck. With a majority female team, luck is usually always on his side, but then again, you can’t win em all. Essentially, he knows he’s out of luck when he’s down to his last Pokémon - assuming that it’s his lone male.
Funny that this video came out. My main Ultra Moon team, almost all of my Pokemon were female. Including my starter. The only one that wasn't was my Magnazone.

Saguaro is a legend of a man. He makes of think of Kanji (Persona 4) but grown up. He's comfortable with his identity and confidently expresses himself through his style and team. I can envision him being a Fairy-type gym leader in Paldea, shocking everyone when they see a huge macho dude rocking a cute/feminine team.
