    I've had this for about 3 days now and am pleased with it. It finally occurred to me that this is basically an upgraded Chromebook with better internals, more functionality, and such. I'll probably try to play Cities Skylines on it with the added graphics card and such once I am completely sold on it (meaning I let the 15-day return window pass me by).
    It's been a pretty decent experience with it so far. I primarily use it to edit photos on Photoshop 2020 and that runs like a dream.

      Glad you like it! Haha, honestly, I never thought to compare it to a Chromebook because my only experience with those were horrible - constant freezing, lagging, and shutdowns. Honestly, I'm REALLY looking forward to what Samsung puts out in 2021-2022 given that Intel's 11th gen Xe graphics and NVidia's next-gen graphics seem to run pretty well.
      I'm still at a loss as to why they didn't include a GPU with the American version. I love using an eGPU, but given how powerful laptop cards are now, I really look forward to not needing one.
      P.S.: Glad to see another Cities fan! What eGPU are you looking at getting?

      @@Joshjames1234 I've had a negative experience or two with my very first Chromebook, but the second I got a month later from Acer hasn't failed me yet! It just annoys me when I want to hop onto Photoshop or play a game. The Play store is still barren when looking for CB compatible apps, and even when you do find one they don't tap into everything a CB can do.
      I honestly know nothing about computers beyond the very basics. I'm slowly learning what the different processors are, SSD, and such.
      I saw you made a recommendation or two on models in other comment replies, so I'll try to remember to look at those.

    Hey, let me ask you about the brightness levels of adjustment,,, is this not able to dim down to like 5 or 10% of the brightness, In other words can this get dim enough to be able to view in darkness without straining your eyes? I saw a video where the guy had it on ht elowest brightness setting and it still looked pretty bright, in a well lit room,,, also,, do you feel that the speakers are on the weaker side? i hear mostly everyone say that,, is the contrast ok? thanks,,,

    Hello Josh I'm the ion user as well but haven't you feel the eye tired??? how do you set up your display mode??? for example Auto QLED mode or natural mode...

      I highly recommend reading mode! My eyes never bother me with that. I also use Night Light. I only switch to Standard or Dynamic mode when gaming.

    Any durability issues? I saw another reviewer, and he complained about the flex in the keyboard.

      @Joshjames1234  3 года назад +1

      No issues at all, the Ion is a joy to type on. I'm not a professional review (lol) so I can't say how well it compares to the latest laptops, but I had no problems typing on it, or with durability, etc.
      If you decide to upgrade the RAM/SSD, just know the screws on the back are SUPER easy to strip, so make sure you have a small enough screw driver that fits exactly.

      @@Joshjames1234 Have you looked at the new Macbook Air M1? Can this laptop compete against that machine? I know the Macbook beats out this laptop in video editing because it has a dedicated graphics card.

      @@AgentPanda00 It seems interesting! Honestly I have no idea. I've edited all my recent videos at native 1080p with no problems and quick rendering times. The 4 cores and 8 threads, and Intel UHD graphics of the i7 hold up really well. I honestly thought coming from a GTX 970 I would miss it when it came to video editing, but the CPU is powerful enough to do anything you throw at it. I haven't tried 4k editing, but I imagine that would be much harder.

      @@Joshjames1234 Thank you for your input. I recently purchased the device and did not want to feel buyer's remorse, which is why I kept pestering you with questions. Coming from a Asus vivobook S300C, I am glad to say that this laptop is sublime. The gripes that I have about it is the keyboard because of the lack of feedback. However, it seems like practicing on it will make my typing come to me as second nature. Also, I wish Samsung would have increased the resolution of the screen on the 15.6 model.

      @@AgentPanda00 Thanks for asking! I hope they come with a superb model 2021, with 11th gen Intel and Xe graphics and a decent video card. I love typing on the device, but of course everyone prefers what they are used to. Honestly, I thought the 1080p screen would bother me, but I still think it looks sharp! The high brightness and good contrast make a difference.
