1:15 "require a lot of money": just honesty 😂. Love it! Ps. I'm now testing IN-8 and I've an issue with the height: is it better to set the midrange as high as your ears or the woofer as high as your ears?
Just brought a pair to compliment my main monitors: Dynaudio BM15s, Sub + Sonorworks. What I am hoping, is for the IN-5s providing that mid focus, tighter sound that is missing with the dynaudio's 10" It is a scarcity here in NZ Aotearoa to get a hold of IN-5s or wave 2. Or to get a demo. Edit update, setup and monitoring the Kali in-5s, they definitely match the dyna's as a complimentary for that mid focus. Next up is including the dyno-sub with the Kali's.
Just ordered my pair of IN-8 V2s, super excited to experience what they have to offer. Went from KRK RP5G3 > KRK RP7G4 > now Kalis, so this is a leap into new territory. Definitely was a bit indecisive on what my next upgrade should be, but I think I've found the right set!
which is better for a small room between these and the IN-5's? I have the In-8's and I love them, but just relocated to a smaller space. the room is 10feet L x 9.5 feet W x 7 feet high
Does the higher power translate to somewhat similar spl? Can the in5 be used as a center channel behind an acoustically transparent screen at about 11 feet away from the listening position when crossed at 100hz or higher? Or would the lp8 which is cheaper than the in8 be a better choice? Or does it need to be an in8? Thanks!
At 11 feet away, you won't be able to hit the Dolby spec with anything other than an IN-8. If you're closer (within about 9-10 feet,) you could use either an IN-5 or an LP-8.
Why didn’t the N-5 not go to a V2/2nd Wave like the N-8? I heard that the internal Amp was causing a hiss primarily in the tweeter and was extremely noticeable at low volume. Both N-5 & N-8 are 3-Way Monitors with the N-5 having a more powerful Amp so wouldn’t you have to make more amp adjustments (Shielding, etc.) to the N-5 as well?
If you have the space and the budget, the IN-8 is the superior speaker. But you're unlikely to perceive its advantages at safe listening levels within about 2 meters.
@@kaliaudio Thank you for your response! I appreciate the clarification. Given the space limitations of my studio, it seems the IN-8 may not be the best fit. However, the IN-5 looks like it would suit my setup perfectly.
@@onz1k im using them for production. They are supposed to be neutral for that purpose, but i will say they lack a little high end. I still like them a lot for production though.
I don't have the width for an 8 so went 5 was wondering why the wattage was different thanks for the explanation I can visualize it as car speakers have the same limitation of diameter usually compensated by larger drivers, translation : big heavy magnet behind the woofer
I think you should put your monitors straight up. After seeing your monitors placement, i went for a research. It said placing sideway will effect the timing of the tweeter and the woofer creating a comb filtering.
They are designed to be placed either way. Comb filtering comes from traditional non coaxial design. The acoustic center of the drivers all acts as one even though they are physically displaced. This means that there's symmetrical and it doesn't ultimately matter which configuration they are placed at because it's like rotating a circle.
Yesterday my friend and I purchased IN-8 V2 for me, and LP6 V2 for him. Two things I do not like: first there is no a rubber or felt pad on the bottom so it triggers my OCD as I need to put it directly on my table, and second the plastic edges of the front panel are somewhat sharp, again my OCD. Sure, it comes with some small rubber sticky pads, which are perfectly fine, but the idiot in the store lost one so I ended up getting some felt stickers. So, this snobbery comes with a good reason, everything else is so good I needed to find some faults really. It is very difficult to understand how such a great sound signature can come for this amount of money. We listened to the Adam T7V which costs the same as LP6 V2, this Adam can not come even close with its frequency response curve. My idea was to buy either IN-8 V2 or the Neumann KH120 II, sure the price difference is huge, but for what I need this is a magnificent speaker.
Hey can u do a video on how to connect the kali Audio subwoofer to the three-way 8 inch the correct way and best way and what to avoid and not do because I had to return the WS 12 subwoofer one time lucky I had got insurance but I’m really trying to avoid what not to do and have it set the best way where it sounds just perfect if you can, please do a video would be super be help ful helpful. I’m sure it will help others set up at the right range. Thank you. Hope for this i’m only asking because I don’t really understand even those back switches even if it says it in the pictures there I still feel like I’m not doing it correct so I usually just leave it flat down and I’m not good at reading that’s why am asking if you can please help out on this matter I would super appreciate it. Wish you a good day.
That was the most honest breakdown ever.
Honest videos like this actually makes me respect and trust this company much more. I'm hoping to try the IN8s soon.
I put Monopoly money inside my IN-8 V2 and it still works flawlessly !!! Thank you Kali family ! Greetings from Luxembourg! 🤘❤️🤘
Thank you for getting to the point and not making me listen to a 1 hour monologue that could have been done in 3 minutes. Excellent presentation.
Moral of the the story its not the size of the fish… its the motion of the ocean 👀🤣🦾

The mids/tweeter.
The woofer pushes larger waveforms that don’t need to be as direct for monitoring purposes

I like this fact Friday thing! Good info!
No cap 🧢
I just bought the IN 5 - will get them in 2-3 days and am excited!

I'd say try your IN-8s in the new room. If you're finding them to be physically too large, it might be good to swap out to the smaller speakers.
How did the IN-8s work for you in the new room? Did you stick with them or switched to the IN-5s?
@@musicCurator i stuck with the IN-8’s. they sound good to me so why change em 😂
@@officialdiomerRight on! Good to hear that the IN-8s worked out fine for you.

The IN-5 was launched as part of our 2nd wave. There was never a first wave version, so it never had the hiss issue.
why do you have noise in your Audio Logo? That doesnt sound very trustworthy :D - i would change this.
Though the speakers are great!
What Brand is Your Skyline Defusers?
I don't remember. We got them on Thomann for like $250 each
Also the cabinet size. Smaller the cabinet larger the power given to the speaker.
Is as a consequence the smaller speaker more responsive to transients?
Not really. There's less mass to move, but also a lot less magnet to move it.
*Well could it be then Engineering didn't quite coordinate its efforts with Marketing and Accounting?*
So which one is the most advisable to buy?

Is each driver from all three amped individually ?
Yep!

We're able to keep the price low by forgoing the rubber feet. (sorry that the guy lost one, but it sounds like you got it worked out!)

I really would like the IN-8 but it is just enormous!

I miss my in 8s 😢💔💔
awww sad day!
Will there be a version two of the I N5?
IN-5 is V2. there was never a V1
When will we see the IN-8, 3rd Wave?? Then, I’m Sold!! 😆
Oh it's gonna be some time. We got nothing planned.
So the in8 best than 5 or ?????
IN-8 is best, but if you're working within about 6 feet, you're unlikely to notice the differences.
