    I just want to point out that in India a lot of JEE and NEET aspirants (some of the toughest exams in the world) go through a lot of stress. The level of competition is insane. Millions of students appear for this exam each each year. These students join expensive academies/ coaching centers and spend their whole day studying for it . Many students commit suicide if they fail to get into IITs, AIMS ( top colleges), or any other good college. There are certain occupations parents force their kids to go towards. The comparisons made by people including your parent really breaks you down. The whole society frowns upon you thinking you are a disgrace.

    LOL schools in India are NOT like the USA. I've been educated in both countries and I can confirm. I'd say the Indian school system (like the way it's divided?) is more similar to the UK in the sense that we have primary and secondary school. More explanation of how Indian schooling is like is below:
    We have kindergarten (we call it pre-primary school) which is divided into two years: LKG (lower kindergarten) and UKG (upper kindergarten). There's also a year of nursery school (the American equivalent of pre-school) prior to LKG and UKG in India but I believe it is optional.
    After pre-primary (nursery, LKG, and UKG), comes primary school which is from 1st grade to 5th grade. After primary school is secondary school. Secondary school is from 6th grade to 10th grade. 10th grade is an extremely important year as this is when we have school leaving examinations (called board exams).
    After 10th grade comes 11th and 12th grade. In some places/school systems (there's several school systems in India), 11th and 12th grade are separate and considered college and are called Intermediate 1st and 2nd years, whereas in other places/school systems 11th and 12th grade are within the school/considered secondary school. For the vast majority however, it is considered college. You can think of it as "junior college" and not actual college where you can get a bachelors degree.
    In these two years of "junior college" students can choose certain subjects to focus on. The most popular ones are Math, Physics, and Chemistry (MPC - chosen by those who want to do engineering), Biology, Physics, Chemistry (BiPC - chosen by those who want to do medicine), or Math, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (MBiPC - chosen by those who are unsure of what to choose between MPC and BiPC). There are other subject pathways such as civics or commerce but they are less popular as far as I know. When you get to your Intermediate 2nd year (12th grade), you have another set of school leaving examinations (board exam) to prepare for. Similar to the 10th grade school leaving exam (board exam).
    For those who choose MPC, BiPC, or MBiPC, 11th and 12th grade (junior college) becomes even more stressful 2 years of their lives (can't speak for students in other subject pathways as I'm not familiar with them). Students during these two years study either for JEE exams (engineering college entrance exams), or the NEET exam (medical college entrance exam. similar to the MCAT in the US and Canada) in addition to their board exams. These two exams are extremely difficult so students get tutoring services to pass the exams.
    *A lot of things the girl in the video said about school in India makes more sense if she went to an international school.* In fact I checked her IG profile and it does seem like she went to an international school. International schools in India are extremely expensive so the average Indian cannot afford to send their children there. It makes sense that school for her ended at 3 and is significantly more laid back. Perhaps international schools are like that. Most schools that I know and the ones I went to personally all started at 8:30 AM and ended at either 4:30 PM or 5:30 PM. Some schools have after school study hours specifically held for students who have low grades so they'd probably stay an extra hour after school. Many students also get tutored after school too but this is a personal choice like the girl in the video says.

    Okay...there are a lot of differences in experiences faced by a lot of people in terms of schooling in India....basically...what Giggle showed in terms of pictures looked like those of government run schools...private schools look way too different...in terms of uniforms, school buildings, classrooms, activities performed etc;...India is a huge and a very diverse country...we have different types of schools and in fact, different boards too...for eg, we have schools which follow state boards for each state in which the first language is the state language...we have CBSE board which is Central board for secondary education...CBSE board follows the all-India curriculum and is much better in theoretical knowledge; We have ICSE board i.e. Indian Certificate of Secondary Education; both of them have English as their first and main language.
    As the surveys say, CBSE may be a good choice for students seeking future careers in medical and engineering fields. ICSE may be a good option for seeking versatility in selecting subjects, overall student development, and developing strong English proficiency to study abroad;
    But from my experience and perspective , it depends from student to student and school to school on how they look at things and their way of giving education. As a CBSE high school graduate, with being profound in english, korean, hindi, and other regional languages and skills; people found it hard to believe i was a CBSE student rather than an ICSE student because of my consummate English or other 360 degree development qualities which people generally think only ICSE students possess; which ain't true. So, it all depends on us as well as the schools we studied in which shape us with their norms and skills.
    Another thing is, Indian high school students, who want to pursue medicine, engineering, CA in their own country, face a lot of struggle rather than a nice lifestyle...as they prepare for entrance exams like JEE, NEET, etc. which are found to be some of the world's toughest examinations(you can check it on the net). At such young ages, all these students do is forget everything and just study...in order to get into the best colleges of their country...and the sad part is, the competition is so high and stresssful, that even the bright students who were once toppers come to a point that it's even hard for them to pass their exams; some students even commit suicide because they think they can't adhere to their parents' expectations. I know the system is really worse because for 2-3 marks there comes a huge rank difference and you miss the college of your dreams or you become less of a priority because of the reservation qouta too...the struggles I stated aren't even half..it's just an endless list..LIFE AS AN INDIAN STUDENT IS REALLY HARD BUT WORTHY TOO AND IS DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE'S PERSPECTIVE AND EXPERIENCES...

Its different for everyone, her life wont be just like yours. And about the music and the pictures, I doubt they were used with racist or malicious intent, especially since they literally have an Indian girl sitting there talking about her experiences as an Indian. The whole point of the video was to let 2 foreigners share their cultures in their countrys and how it is. Obviously they'll use Indian music in the BG, they want to include more of the culture into the video. You guys are making it seem wrong, when I really dont see how using Indian music in a video that an Indian is talking about her Indian school life and what not is racist. It makes no sense. And about the images, sure it can be stereotypical in a way, but honestly India can be like that. Google will provide those images. Even then, India can be like that. 1. Make-up is not at all allowed, although yes, some girls do very minimal makeup like to light mascara
    2. Stress to get into a good college is HUGE. Maybe because of her fashion designing stream, it could be a little less for her(I respect her choice & by no-means am I trying to demean the Fashion-designer industry, I'm merely comparing the competition among candidates who gotta appear for the respective exams), but for mainstream jobs like Doctors/Engineers/Lawyers/CAs, there's a huge competition among students & thus, a lot of stress.

    At the age of 20 I did my graduation and at the age of 23 I did post-graduatiom aka Masters program. So basically from 18-20 our graduation is meant to be done. But there are other students who take break from studies then they complete it later age like 23-24 and in my college like I studied from St.Xavier's College , Ranchi and in both graduation and masters we need to do credit work like gave 1 month service to any social service without losing attendence like after college from recognised Social school, orphanage, old shelter etc after that they gave us our marksheet. And in other colleges the passing marks is 33% but in my college passing mark is 45 to 50% and 75 % attendance is necessary for each semester. Even they give us extra classes before exam. And each student needs to do presentation and survey work of each exam and it's looks like I was in school but it's totally worth it . And not in college but now even in school they take written exam with interview. Makeup is banned here in school only kajal and lip balm allowed but now there are loads of things available...to fool maybe. And all wants good and affiliated school and college without it, it creates bad effects on our personal profile to get a job or go to higher studies. Now even in kindergarten parents choose to go with affiliated and good education school because we're in competition era and I know because my son is 5 year old.
