My husband proposed to me (in private) by singing me the song Adam Sandler sings to Drew Barrymore on the plane. Very sweet, possibly cringe to others, I don’t care, I loved it.
Funny thing I just remembered. We told some friends and they for some reason thought it was the song Adam Sandler sings after he gets left at the alter. Very very different vibes. “Will somebody kill me please!!”
Apparently, Carrie Fisher took a pass at this script and punched it up. I heard that many of her contributions helped with Julia's character and role being more genuine, which probably helped the overall love story.
I like it when Adam' s character shows kindness for others but his outbursts of breaking things takes me out of it, i was also uncomfortable when he forced the fat kid on drew's character. I dont mind the cursing or yelling because some people need yelling at but i don't like him being unprofessional at gigs, he should have put his feelings into singing instead of antagonize the client, even just breaking down crying would've been better.
"Julia Gulia"-That's what happened to my mom when she married my dad-She became 'Nancy Clancy"-then they named me after her. So, I was also stuck with it for the first 27 years of my life!
One of my favourite rom coms. It's cheesy, but there's a genuine charm about it that you can't help but love. Plus, that serenade on the aeroplane always makes me teary eyed. 😢
Please add 'A Knight's Tale' to your list!! I promise that y'all will absolutely love it. Based on the movies y'all have liked, this movie was practically made for y'all to review.
Here in the States, wog is used for Italians, but it hasn't been used really since the 50s/60s. Most people watching your reactions will have never heard it.
@@ms_scribbles It means "without papers," referring to the wave of immigrants from Italy in the late 19th century. Think of Vito Corleone in Godfather Part II getting named after his home town because he was a kid by himself and therefore had no ID.
Speaking of foreshadowing - I never noticed that the ‘bride’ from Robbie and Linda’s wedding looked more like Julia with a short blonde Bob, but now that I know that was done on purpose I can’t unsee it
I never watched that movie because I am not that much of a Adam Sandler Fan. It is a interesting movie, I enjoyed your commentary. Regarding the making friends at work thing, I always made friends at work, it helps a lot when work is crazy. At my last job it was about 100 people at the office and 97 or them were difficult, so I befriended the two normal people. At my current job I also befriended some people and we really get along great. We are playing role plays in our spare time and have movie nights or get drinks after work. Friends at work is really great 😊
I feel like I missed the notification for this because this is my favourite Adam Sandler movie, it just gives me that heartwarming feeling and I’m obsessed with anything 80s and I think this movie captures that time period really well
Yeah, it didn’t get a lot of love so you may not have gotten a notification. That happens. Glad you love it tho! I don’t get to dive into my love of the 80s on this channel as much as I’d like - Sam
The 90s interpretation of the 80s is like the 80s interpretation of the 50s…in the 90s, like Saved By the Bell. Not entirely accurate, but it gives the film a style that makes it stand out. The Wonder Years did the same thing. Kevin always looked 80s and there were other 80s elements and then his sister would look very hippie-ish.
As much as I love Drew Barrymore, I have to admit to an equal antipathy for Adam Sandler. His movies are consistently cruel to overweight people and really anyone who's 'different.' He also perpetuates the "rage is funny" thing which always bothers me because uncontrolled rage is usually a big red flag. I enjoyed your commentary as usual, and I'm looking forward to your eventual thoughts on 50 First Dates. I'm curious as to whether you will find it cute, problematic, or both.
We did this for a musical once in our school (it was written so it was school appropriate). I was a little 6th grader in stage crew. Oh I remember one time, I was supposed to get the bed out, but the actors blocked the way with chairs, so I couldn’t get to it. The dude who was playing the main character did an awesome job improvising. I got scolded by one of the older stage crew members.
Gulia what a name LOL ... If me or my husband forget to tell each other something; till this day we quote this line "things that could have brought to my attention YESTERDAY!" lol 😆
Rewatched babys day out which I really enjoyed since I was young and he was in it. I immediately mentioned to my husband "Julia Gulia" and he was confused🤦
Having just recently rewatched your commentary on Bride Wars, I think there's something of a parallel between Linda telling Robbie she doesn't love him anymore on their wedding day and Anne Hathaway's character telling Chris Pratt's that they aren't right for each other on their wedding day. Both have the woman realising that she doesn't want to marry that man - one because he has changed and the other because she has. Important difference though is that Anne Hathaway's character doesn't want to hurt him and breaks the news gently even as she is just realising it herself, she still manages to word it in a way that makes clear it is nobody's fault whereas Linda doesn't choose her words very carefully. Really love the commentaries, I'd be interested to see what you think of another Adam Sandler film - Just Go With It! I watched it years ago, mostly because I was obsessed with Friends and would watch anything starring Jennifer Anniston and I just remember it as the most chaotic movie so would love to see you guys react to all the shenanigans ❤
A lot of 80s movie romances seem to end with marriage. There’s one with Michael J Fox where his dream was to own his own hotel but somehow abruptly gets married at the end. It made no sense and I was big mad 😡
I've got to disagree with Sam on the Smiths' "How Soon Is Now." I love that song, and can listen to it over and over again. That guitar riff at the beginning always gets me.
Did not see this reaction coming but it's a welcome surprise. With all the cheesy lines and 80's references, this movie is still great. I hope you guys react to a few more 90's classics like You've got Mail and While you were sleeping.
I loooove while you were sleeping. I think Bill Pullman and Sandra bullock are the cutest in that movie. Definitely one of my all time favorite couples in a romcom.
This just might be my favorite Adam Sandler movie. It has a little bit of everything you could ask for, and Sandler's "isms" still felt fresh and welcome. It makes watching 50 First Dates not as terrible despite its many cringe moments and iffy story line. This one is damn near perfect in what it was trying to be.
I love these videos and you two are awesome!! It completely baffles me how you don't have way more subscribers. Haven't watched that many videos recently because using my phone at work is so annoying plus sometimes at full volume I still can't hear your commentary. I'll definitely enjoy this video I'm sure!!

You might enjoy "Music & Lyrics" with Drew Barrymore.🙂ps--in my experience, taking one's husband's name when you get married is not becoming his possession or losing oneself--it's joining together so it's wonderful becoming Mrs. (husband's first and last name).
Appreciate the thoughts, and we’ll probably do music and lyrics sometime I hope (I’d like to look at the actual songwriting part of the story). Taking your husbands name is not exactly what stef meant. He’s talking about when the couple is introduced, only the man’s name is mentioned. He’s saying the wife’s first name should also be part of that introduction - Sam
I took my husband's surname but I'm also an attorney and not changing my maiden name on my bar license. It's like two identities! I feel so sneaky hahaha

Can't wait for you guys to react to Music and Lyrics, starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. As someone who has been in the music industry, i think you guys can relate to a lot of the writing songs process in the film and the industry as a whole.
I love you guys so much! You and my sons give me so much hope for the future. I think this is the 5th time I’ve probably commented this, but I’m an old woman and like to repeat myself anyways. 😂❤
She had them kiss and then went out with them to get her to feel that twinge of jealousy and make her realize her feelings, kind of a dick move but it worked
32:57 so here's where I heard thattt... Awsten Knight use it in a song and I couldn't remember where I heard that before. The song it's called Telephone by Waterparks... Is a masterpiece. Sorry for the promo.
The cousin is the "God Es Machina" of the story. She is protecting her cousin while going after a "good man" at the same time. If he actually is a falling for julia, he won't settle for the easy lay. If he's a dude just looking for anything, she gets a decent guy or, at least, she gets laid. I've rewatched it with that read in mind, and her subtle faces totally spell it out ❤ probably the most complex character in the movie.

I was genuinely thinking of watching a romcom tonight and then im watching through trailers from my list, after one I go back to the homepage just to see this video just being posted recently with you both reacting to a movie i put in that list out of nowhere earlier! is this a sign
You guys seem to be down for romcoms/ chick flicks, so I'd like to recommend "Penelope". Only one person has so far, and it's not a blind reaction but a first time. Also "What women want" and "Shallow Hal". I'd also like to recommend in general "Mighty Joe Young", the remake starring Bill Paxton. Thank you!
You guys missed the Miami Vice references. Glen totally dresses like Sonny Crocket and the DeLorean was known as Sonny's car before Back to the future existed. When the door opens, the music blaring is the Miami Vice theme song.
I know this is random and I know it would take forever, but I'd be cool if you guys reacted to the original Charmed series. Your comment about Charmed when "How Soon Is Now" played made me think it'd be awesome to see your reactions to it. I know it's a lot, so maybe just the first episode, or maybe your favorite episode(s), or episode(s) you thought stood out? I know it's a show, not a movie, but thought I'd bring it up. Not sure if you ever thought of doing a spin-off channel (since some youtubers do) that involved shows instead of movies.
*MASTER* = Mr. (Mister) *MASTER'S* = Mr's Mrs. (Mister's) 3:15 Mrs. = "Property of Mr. FirstName Surname" That's why a married couple is still announced in this way, because people today aren't aware it stems from girls and women being married-off to ensure their survival.😮
Now i'd like to see them, react to Sonic Prime. They take absolute advantage of the animation, from expressive rubbery squash and streatch, unbroken shots, and camera angles/movement!
I haven't even watched the commentary yet - I know it's gonna be good cause otherwise i wouldn't have become fans all those years ago. But I've been hoping you'd do this movie for years. So nastalgic for me on a lot of different levels. Thanks bunches and bunches guy. It's just been me and my migraine for the past 2 days so this was such a fun and welcome surprise as i peaked my head out of the dark room i've been hiding in, lol. Sam, i really hope your're finger's ok! (i know you probably address the injury somewhere during the program but as i said i couldn't wait to make a comment and hopefully push that algarythm)
Sorry but what did boy George do I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything, also great video love your guy's content always brings a smile to my face.😊
I looked it up and found he had been charged with SA’ing someone and holding them against their will. I e also heard many people complain about him being aggressive sexually.
I love listening to your commentary. Is there a schedule for when you upload? Because I know you’re struggling with interest and the first hours are most important for whether a reaction will succeed, but part of the problem for me as a regular viewer, is I haven’t worked out when to look out for a new upload, which means I miss it until I log in too late to help with early viewership. I love the wedding singer and Adam Sandler movies and it makes me sad you won’t get to do more because the interest wasn’t there. I get it, but I was interested in your take on more. Never thought I’d see the day Sandler would lose popularity. I feel old now.
So far there hasn’t been because of how much work actually goes into each video, but we’re doing a bit better for workflow this year with having a four person team so I’d really like to think we could maybe stick to weekends in the future. However… sometimes we need to pivot and post early if something doesn’t do well or post late if there’s a copyright issue to work around. I really appreciate your support and we will essentially be aiming for posting between Friday and Sunday at the very least. Yeah, I think some people might be mad at him for something? But I don’t really know 🤷♂️ - Sam
This is my mom's favorite movie! Sometimes I'll just watch the airplane scene and have a little cry to make myself feel better. I've probably seen it a million times.
I know it doesn't really fit the channel theme and probably wouldn't bring in substantial viewership, and thus understandably likely won't happen, but it would be cool to see a reaction to Airheads with Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi and Brendan Fraser :)
I love drew so much, i think she is very under rated. I think i spotted a mistake at 39:15 he says his grandma gave him money in 1993 but its set in the 80s?
Yeah, she’s great 😊. Robbie says the savings bond will be worth $25 in 1993, not that he got it in 93 (our editing may have adjusted the wording, can’t remember) - Sam
I dont know how you decide which movie youre going to see, since im New to this Channel, but ID love you to reach to Little Women 1994. Its súper cute.

*MASTER* = Mr. (Mister)
*MASTER'S* = Mr's
Mrs. (Mister's) 3:15 Mrs. = "Property of Mr. FirstName Surname" That's why a married couple is still announced in this way, because people today aren't aware it stems from girls and women being married-off to ensure their survival.😮
Having a total shit day, so this video helps a lot, thanks you guys!
I had the soundtrack to this on a cassette tape, and it had little bits of the film dialogue on the songs. I think I wore the tape out haha
One of my favorite Sandler movies.
@@marcye3649 I remember that! I also remember it being seen as a laughing point and not the horrific assault that it was.
We appreciate your reactions. Keep up the good work,.
I've thought of checking that one out.
I love that movie!! And since they play music I think it would hit even harder for them lol
Did you guys know that he sang part of this song to her on the jimmy fallon show?
Did not know that. That's pretty cool 😊 - Sam
@The Movie Budz yes! Just search for Drew and Adam Jimmy Fallon singing. ~ Bridget
missed y’all so much🥹🫶🏿💓glad you’re back & hope you’re feeling much better!
I’ve had to break up with someone I was with for almost four years and tell them I no longer loved them and it is fucked up
I looooooooove this movie so much. Great video, guys!
I love this film so much
Reminder to watch Puss In Boots The Last Wish, please!
Bridget Jones Diary reaction please!
I dont know how you decide which movie youre going to see, since im New to this Channel, but ID love you to reach to Little Women 1994. Its súper cute.
I really do want someone to hold.
I needed something to watch, and JUMPED when I saw this!!
I love Adam Sandler
