I seen Bob Newhart year's ago, ( maybe 40 year's ago? ) at Loyola medical school in Chicago. It was the absolute best comedy routine I'd seen. Hilarious.

I remember these monologues from the 60's and thought they were brilliant, the driving instructor was my favourite. it's a shame we don't have this sort of humour now.

Bob Newhart and Bill Cosby are two comedians that could entertain anyone without using a single bad word. They're living legends. This recording has to be older then I am and it's still amazingly funny.

Rowan Atkinson is very much akin to Newhart, more of a performance artist then a tradition stand up, but Newhart sort of painted stories inside your head with duologue whereas Atkinson laid his jokes bare physically.
