That Russel Brand was saved is such a testament to God's enduring mercy. Same with Paul or Doug or me. God has saved us when he didn't have to and we were his enemies.
    Such a wonderful testimony!

As someone who started watching Russell's content regularly in the last month or two, I am blown away by the grasp he has on the gospel so quickly. It is wonderful to hear him testify to the way God has intervened in his life and so articulately communicate how he used to serve other idols before realizing their futility and meaninglessness. I have seen many celebrities take a questionable dip into Christianity, but Russell is not pne of those. I have no doubt that he has truly been saved.

My neice was an early fan who read his 'booky wook' when it came out, and first drew my attention to him. He was into kundalini yoga back then, and other mystic paths, which I remembered warning her about at the time. She gave her heart to The Lord a few years back, and we were talking about Russell when he publicly declared for Jesus. She reminded me of what I said to her at the time. "I like Russell though. EXACTLY THIS! When non-celebrities make a profession of faith in Christ, we understand that they need time to read and learn God's Word. They need time to sort out situations brought on by their previous lifestyle. And there needs to be time for others to see whether they bear fruit that is evidence of genuine regeneration. When celebrities make a profession of faith in Christ, they are immediately thrust into public interviews and speaking engagements. And then we wonder why they so often (and so soon!) crash and burn.
I had never even heard of this guy until these types of videos began to come out. This is the first one I've watched all the way through. (Because it's short.) We need to leave the man alone! If he's genuinely regenerate, it will be shown. If not, it will be shown.

@@Yesica1993 Why? Because they are cynical and pessimistic. When we see the lost return we should rejoice as the father did when he saw the prodigal son returning. He didn't wait several years to see if the son stayed home. And even if he did, how many high profile Christians who did great works for God apostized after years of good work. To how many lifelong Christians will Christ say "I never knew you; depart from Me". I see no point in waiting to welcome and rejoice with him for proclaiming Christ right now, whether from false motives or true.
