The main riff to this song is really just something else. Definitely one of the best I've heard in years.

Im more uf a fan of tha old SS but iv'e got to say this is my favorite song from the new SS i did what somebody told me and "give them a chance".and the harsh vocalist is actually equal to alvestam.the only good thing to come out of the break up is that we have two great bands instead of one S45&SS.

I agree, he is out of this world. But I actually found that having Jonas Kjellgren's solos next to his enhanced the whole thing. A true example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Per with his super clean and "sparkly", "spacey" uplifting soloing style being contrasted by Jonas' more mean, more dirty blues pentatonic-oriented style that often also played around with sounds (some whammy bar stuff I can recall), they really made each other's solos sound even better imo!
sounds like it's gonna be another sweet album from scar symmetry...they never dissapoint, because you never know what to expect from them.Just greatmusic is all I expect and that's what they make! new singers..old singer makes no difference. These new guys do a top knotch job. proggressive metal at it's best!!!

This song convinced me Scar Symmetry was gonna be just fine without Christian.
I thought this song was at least on par with most of the stuff on HU. Definitely better than everything on DMD. I have high hopes for this one.
This album gave me a new found hope for Scar Symmetry.
I do love Alvestam... and still I bought DMD and I will buy this one... because Scar Symmetry is my favorite band as he still remains as my fav vocalist!

Honestly? This actually sounds a lot better than DMD. Unseen Empire gave me some hope for SS and their new vocalists. I can honestly say they got their shit together for this album and resolidified their style around the two. It sounds epic and the growling vox is absolutely epic in the way it flows with the intensity of the song. It all came together to create a tasty jam.
+Eli Ortiz Hey, DMD was a great album. Not every song is very good from that album, but it's still good.. It's one of the worst because of the lack of solidity (imo it contains more "bad" songs than other albums), but The Unseen Empire and The Singularity I really show how they improved.
Ascension Chamber was terrible. Teeeerrrrible.

i agree with most people that Christian was a big part of Scar Symmetry and i do feel sad that he left, but the new vocalist has shown his talent and honestly i find it great that Scar Symmetry chose him because, to me and many others, he sounds great and it looks like he might be able to allow Scar Symmetry to continue as one of the best Metal bands known

Super smart dudes. English is a second language for them im sure, yet thier grasp of composition and prose are unbelievably profound. Thats on top of extremely thoughtful guitar vocabulary.
The new vocalists are starting their own style, sounds great.
All 3 Vocalists are awesome.

I said from the start that Dark Matter Dimensions was a safe card just because the singers were really new back then. Now it seems that I've been right all along. Dark Matter Dimensions was just a way fro Scar Symmetry to heal their wounds and regain their strength. I promised to give Scar Symmetry one more chance as one of my favorite metal bands. They're back... and THE UNSEEN EMPIRE will bring back what we all loved about them, and most probably even more as well!

Sweet, I know the two new guys are not like Christian, and they're not, he has a lot more of experience and skill that comes with that experience, it's true, but they are in a good direction, I think that they have the potential to become two of the best singers in the years to come!!

I don't care what anyone says, Christian lost the best opportunity he will ever have and that was with SS. Scar Symmetry will always live on as one of the greatest acts in metal. Solution .45 is great too, but they are no SS and will never be. At least we have 2 prog melodeath bands instead of 1 now.

I don't understand why so many people state the obvious that Christian can't be replaced. The fact is that only he can replace himself, not anyone else. Dark Matter Dimensions showed that they can manage just fine without him as well. If you only loved Älvestam's vocals in Scar Symmetry then you should listen Solution .45 or Unmoored
@Mauhadeeb28 Christian's in a whole lot of bands. He plays guitar (and occasional vocals) in Torchbearer, and he does vocals in Miseration, The Few Against Many, Unmoored, and Solution .45. The man's a musical genius.

@MadMaroProjects I believe the real Scar Symmetry is the instrumentals. Thats what first drew me to them when I first heard Chaosweaver on my local metal channel at 4:00 am at night when I first heard them. The Vocals did make it god like but I still enjoy the new vocals.

I'd say this is probably the best Scar Symmetry record so far. And for the record, I prefer Alvestam's voice, but this album is written far better than any of the others. Great record, and I look forward to more.

WOW!!! Amazing of course. i remember when i got PitchBlackProgress i couldnt assault my ears enough. i want this band to top that one but i will be happy with anything they do. one of very very few bands that actually make me smile and genuinely feel good. like a drug. always wish when new albums out that they were longer but cant complain about quality like that and i always rather have quality than quantity. cant wait to hear the full album. 2 more months ahhh. 1 til dL but then i buy, promise

Chrisitan is still a vocalist for many other bands though, there is universum, Solution 45, many against one. if you feel like listening to his voice again just go look for any of these three

@warhawk613 In DMD there were some songs with some great choruses where both vocalists shone.
And the adition to the music of shrieks form the clean vocals guy made a nice combination with the already existing clean and growls

I like the fact that they make some good music with the new singers.. It's alsmost a blasphemy to play the old songs with the new guys.. It's good that they're building a repertoire which fits the new singers, this year will be a better year to see SS live! :)

I'm starting to think a lot of people had huge mancrushes on Christian, because they are acting like him leaving the band is like a bad break up: making way too big of a deal out of it and obsessing about the ex way too long. The dude's a great singer, and he has a great new band (Solution .45), but the new singers are good too, no to mention the guys that make the actual music are still in the band (the guitarists). People focus way too much on the singer instead of the music itself.
What is this?!?!?! METAL FOR GODS?!?!?!

@Holyarms Its not like he wanted to go, the band members just thought different of using his clean & growl voice, so they asked him to leave. I mean, you can hear the difference of the voice usage between HG & DMD, because in HG, Christian Älvestam had the total right on how to sing on each song.
On DMD, the guitarists took control on how to sing on all songs. Thats why I think, they wanted him to leave, because the guitarists wanted the total control on their songs, except for the drums, lol.
