These guys are the same geniuses of their style as Amon Amarth. I'll be 35 in March, and I've been listening to them for really more than 15 years. When I listen to them, I understand that time has not just stopped, but it never existed. I feel like I did 15 or more years ago.
Exactly bruh even Einstein knew he was just a stupid human blessed w an education knowledge to do mathematics and amazing women in his life that motivated him Time exists on a continuum There's even theories in mathematics string theory that parallel dimensions might exist We dont actually know for sure at the end of the day we're just stupid humans who know love created us 2+2=4 mathematics shows absolute truth and our history is real. There's no telling with science getting this advanced how much potential we have as humanity womanity mankind in the far future The main thing we gotta avoid? War. Technology is too great for war amen
And they sound even better, especially since they can overlap vocals, something that they can do live as well, just Alvestam could have never. Deal with it.
+Armyboy89 Exactly! The new growls are very good imho, but the cleans.... especially live not as good. But they´ll improve. Btw., Robert, you can´t tell anybody what to do lol ;). Accept other opinions
To this day nobody had ever cover the whole guitar solo from this song. Man. I was so spoiled learning any solo from youtube and when there's none it kinda blows my mind.
imo SS turned into a new level. Listen to these vocal harmonies never available live with only one singer. Moreover growls are deeper than ever and the new clean vocalist, he is technically unbeatable. I hear heaven and hell in his voice. It's like some sacral experiance to listen to Scar Symmetry now.
Incapacity, Solar Dawn, Scar Symmetry, Torchbearer, Quest of Aidance, guest for Zonaria, Miseration, Syconaut, Angel Blake, Carnalized, Solution .45, The Few Against Many, Jarawynja, Nuclear Blast Allstars....Christian Alvestam has been in a few and IS in a few for sure. with a voice like that and all round talent like he has he can pretty much go up to any band and just say "Kick him out. I want in" or "You and you, quit. We're starting a new band." The dude makes good music!
I love this band and this one of the best songs from the latest album. I am sad that Christian has left the band, but the new singers work really well and I hope they carry on what they started with DMDS. Thumbs up all round.
I admit i was hit pretty hard with Christian's change over, i never hated it but it took me some time to get used to, this song still holds power to remind me of better times and ill always be thankful regardless of who's in the group. Keep making awesome music guys
I feel like the production quality of their music videos went downhill as the went on, the older Scar Symmetry videos feel like actual professionally produced music videos, while their newer ones look like something I could have made. I'm not so sure what happened.
for those of you that are wondering, an iconoclast is a person that destroys religious symbols. I think the clean vocalist fits the band more than the screamer. the screamer doesn't move at all/have any stage presence. but good effort, they're still new to the band so ill see what they do next!
i also think that christian was a very good singer, but those two give it all a little bit new fresh power. The Voices of those guys are incredible, harmonizing perfect.
@WorldMechanical my point is as i said in previous comment, not all are willing to tour that's all, i mean my band Sorrow and suffering, we have a album out since december last year and we haven't toured yet. Mostly because some of us still have school to attend to and me for instance, i have my daughter to look after most of the time
I dont know what it is about Sweden but apparently it is home to pretty much all my favorite metal bands, In Flames, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Amon Amarth, the only one not there is Children of Bodom but hey they are just next-door!
@cothy86 If you look at Symmetric in Design and Holographic Universe there is a massive difference in vocal range. Give them time to grow. I like the new direction and adding of more elements into their music, I don't think Christian could pull it off. Christian is a great singer, but he wanted to head in a different direction and lets not forget he couldn't quite pull it off live and wanted to just be a studio band. The new dynamic works great. You can always listen to studio band Solution .45.
This lineup kicks. I think they sound way heavier and better with these guys. The first singer, Christian, sounded like The Cookie Monster when he tried to growl. I still dig those cds also, just like this the most.
that ending harmony sent chills down my spine. SS has never failed when it comes to emulating pure emotion and talent in their music. fuck rap and all that other bull shit music. this is REAL music. \m/
@wackamastaz Christian was actually just a studio creation, just layers upon layers of vocals. OBVIOUSLY they purposefully chose two vocalists so that the band's sound didn't change too drastically, and they could make for a better live performance.
This is the best video this far with the new singers, although, it's still not THE music video. The greatest thing I miss is the underlying concept. Every song and album from Scar Symmetry has it, "The Illusionist" and the "Morphogenesis" videos had it too, but in the ones from the new album, including this - I see none in them! A little girl walking away from home, meeting an obscure-looking priest guy?I'd say it has a deeper meaning if we could see what happens after they meet, but we don't.
I do understand your opinion guys, you wanted to keep the good old Scar Symmetry along with christian, but take another step forward and enjoy the experience of discovering the new singer with his awesome voice! Both are really good, rock on Scar Symmetry, The band of god!
one of my favorite bands. the growler is so baddass he refuses to move and just headbangs in place. btw is it just me or does that priest look like a michael jackson with a beard?
I agree with many posters below. The vocals are something new though, since I've been listening to these guys since their first album. I don't think it's a case of power in their voices, since they obviously have that. I think it's the presence. They just don't command the same presence that Christian did. Still, Dark Matter Dimensions was an awesome album, and I'm looking forward to see where it takes these guys.
I first heard this band years ago from a compilation CD with the song 'the illusionist', I like that song and the album it's from. But which album is considered there best? I would love to find a band that mixes opeths 'ghost reveries' with Alice in chains 'dirt' album or at least the vocals.
I know you all miss the old singer, Christian Älvestam. But you have to admit that their music is still hella good. They didnt really change the style that they used to have with Christian. So just stop hating and just sit back and listen to some awesome music.
What exactly does Peter Tagtgren do in this song ????? Is it the backing vokills ? Someone tell me cause I cant work it out..............................
@WorldMechanical I didn't say I hated the new ss, I just said I prefer their old style. Their new songs are pretty good too, it's just a different style. My favorites are the iconoclast and A parenthesis in Eternity :)
I wasn't a huge fan of that album although I listen to it once in a while. My problem with the other two albums, holographic and the one before that one, is that the first half is great, while the second half is not so great. When I first heard Dark Matter Dimensions I was shocked how awesome it was. I was so happy that this band really fleshed out and had a solid album.
I bet if this was a new band...formed not from scar symmetry fragments....but new lineup altogether people would be groping on this album- "tis is f*cking guud"..... people just waste their time comparing to their old albums....personally it's an excellent album, everything I look for in melo-death these guys got it
@Shadowfiendization dude, do you find it reasonable that for 3 years, since the albums release, s45 has not performed live??how can it not have fit them in such a long time?
Christian is gone but they got pretty good replacements. Plus they brought their A game to this album. I think this album is their best and their most creative. Well done Scar Symmetry.
@Soilworker091 Im going to wait for the next CD until I pass judgment. I mean common, Dark Matter Dimension is pretty amazing considering Holographic Universe came out less than a year before that. Usually it takes 2 to 3 years before a band release new albums.
@WorldMechanical Well, Have you've noticed that christian has other bands/projects that he could be working with right now? or even anyone else in s45 for that matter, i mean sure it is a bit strange yes. but there are many bands that are more studio bands not all bands are in for touring or any live show in particullar. For all we know s45 might just be on tour in sweden or any other places in europe. not all bands has to go USA, Asia and all exotic places now do they?
@rangyui i agree with you on this song. this growling isnt the best. but growl in general can be awesome like norther, amon amarath, equilibrium (not robse), eluveitie....
@Dervanon i feel you bro. maybe its just that im soo much into the riff. thing. :) any way this song is awsome so i will do a cover of it without the growling..yeeey!! i took a moment to see your ppage and there is one long haired guy playing an LTD is that you? if so. amazing economy technique bro and pretty clean too.
@hellhammermsa Me too, Scar Symmetry will always be my favorite band of all time. Their guitars are absolutely amazing and Henrik (the drummer and lyrics writer) is a freaking genius. Solution .45 is starting to grow on me though.
way better than the first video with the new singer!!! Well imo the band still rocks, not so much as they did before but i hope they will keep going on.
@ellobohombre This album was rushed due to the fact that they wanted to get their new singers doing new material. They made it in one year (compared to other bands which usually takes 2 to 4 years).
I guest I'm 10 years late to the party. What a band!!
Same here! Better late than never, eh.
same here
Welcome :) Some epic stuff to be found in both vocal eras. Holographic Universe is still an incredible masterpiece of an album
Never too late
@@mikkohietanoro8861 never!

i love the idea that they had to get 2 vocalists to replace Christian XD
And they sound even better, especially since they can overlap vocals, something that they can do live as well, just Alvestam could have never. Deal with it.
+Robert Stan Christians cleans are so much better
+Armyboy89
Exactly! The new growls are very good imho, but the cleans.... especially live not as good. But they´ll improve.
Btw., Robert, you can´t tell anybody what to do lol ;). Accept other opinions
omg he was amazing.
Wow, I did not think anyone would think this lmao. He can do both vocal styles way better.
The drummer looks so happy to be there
To this day nobody had ever cover the whole guitar solo from this song. Man. I was so spoiled learning any solo from youtube and when there's none it kinda blows my mind.
This group has some of the best musicians out there!!
How do they go through the entire guitar solo without showing the guy playing it even ONCE?! Terrible director.
There was a problem with Dean guitars I guess
Their faces they pull express only one thing - ''Oh shit, we will never be as awesome as Christian Alvestam''
Music that heals us ,real artists like Scar Symmetry are great people and great musicians
I love how the intro is like Power metal and then it goes to beast Death Metal xD!
imo SS turned into a new level. Listen to these vocal harmonies never available live with only one singer. Moreover growls are deeper than ever and the new clean vocalist, he is technically unbeatable. I hear heaven and hell in his voice. It's like some sacral experiance to listen to Scar Symmetry now.
Honestly, I love SS with both Christian and the new singer. This song's chorus is just beautifully written.
I like the idea of 2 singers.
i dont like the idea of milhouse having 2 spaghetti dinners
it´s band is fabulous!!!!
Impresive!!!!
lml,
rock doesn't typically have kick ass solos like this band partakes in. Extremely Metal.
I admit i was hit pretty hard with Christian's change over, i never hated it but it took me some time to get used to, this song still holds power to remind me of better times and ill always be thankful regardless of who's in the group.
Keep making awesome music guys
I like the paired vocalist setup. Cool concept.
@LordAbrxias SM57's are great for vocals. They were designed for multiple vocals.
Takes me back to my highschool days 12 yrs ago, hanging with the boys and seving jug
The chorus of this song (1:34) is one horn section away from being "Ska Symmetry"
I need a ska cover band of.scar symmetry now
Wah i love the chorus!
I like the mix of growls and singing, it's very complimentary.
I feel like the production quality of their music videos went downhill as the went on, the older Scar Symmetry videos feel like actual professionally produced music videos, while their newer ones look like something I could have made. I'm not so sure what happened.
***** Yea I really want them to make another one soon. I'm really excited for their next album too
for those of you that are wondering, an iconoclast is a person that destroys religious symbols.
I think the clean vocalist fits the band more than the screamer. the screamer doesn't move at all/have any stage presence. but good effort, they're still new to the band so ill see what they do next!
Edge's shirt in 2020 made me love the word "ICONOCLAST"
i also think that christian was a very good singer, but those two give it all a little bit new fresh power. The Voices of those guys are incredible, harmonizing perfect.
@WorldMechanical my point is as i said in previous comment, not all are willing to tour that's all, i mean my band Sorrow and suffering, we have a album out since december last year and we haven't toured yet. Mostly because some of us still have school to attend to and me for instance, i have my daughter to look after most of the time
im really liking the new style of screaming and melodic singing it is really badass like solution .45
Metal is not just defined by the style of the vocals. Have you listened to the guitar and drums in this song? Very metal.
great song, is a little on the pop side of things but still not too bad to mix things up. very refreshing.
I don't wtf you guys are talking about, this song is great!!
I dont know what it is about Sweden but apparently it is home to pretty much all my favorite metal bands, In Flames, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Amon Amarth, the only one not there is Children of Bodom but hey they are just next-door!

This chorus, every time, chills
That intro though! The feels man
Have always been a fan of these guys since day one. But will agree the harmony kicks ass!
*mind blown*
...
*replay*
even though Christian is one of my favorite vocalists... This is one of my favorite songs from Scar Symmetry :D
@LordAbrxias I'm partial to Neumann & Blueberry Vocal condenser mics
This lineup kicks. I think they sound way heavier and better with these guys. The first singer, Christian, sounded like The Cookie Monster when he tried to growl. I still dig those cds also, just like this the most.
Dark Matter Dimensions = Best Scar Symmetry Album Ever
wonderful begginingggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!
1:52
Call me again
Thighs will be split
Eye of the tiger
Balls will end
Tied to a pole
Let people fart women
Breaking the winds
you ruined the song for me... lol
BWAHAHAHAHA! I definitely heard "eye of the tiger" every time, thats for sure!
that ending harmony sent chills down my spine. SS has never failed when it comes to emulating pure emotion and talent in their music. fuck rap and all that other bull shit music. this is REAL music. \m/
i heard them in a video concert with hypocrisy since that day i've couldn't stops of hear them amazong band¡¡
@wackamastaz Christian was actually just a studio creation, just layers upon layers of vocals. OBVIOUSLY they purposefully chose two vocalists so that the band's sound didn't change too drastically, and they could make for a better live performance.
Per Nilson is just... Amazingly good.

That's what's hip in melodic death metal nowadays
@VorpalBob Interesting, because I saw them opening for Epica, and they did a great show that the crowd was seriously into.
I do understand your opinion guys, you wanted to keep the good old Scar Symmetry along with christian, but take another step forward and enjoy the experience of discovering the new singer with his awesome voice!
Both are really good, rock on Scar Symmetry, The band of god!
They still are one of the best bands to come out of Sweden in the past decade, glad i`ve known about`em for many years.
@WorldMechanical
Hahaha, will do!...;-)
Cheers!
even though Christian's gone, still, my favourite band. (:
@cothy86 Growls are badass in the current SS. There are also some awsome death shrieks, but im not sure which one of the 2 vocalist does them.
@WorldMechanical
Amen!
one of my favorite bands. the growler is so baddass he refuses to move and just headbangs in place. btw is it just me or does that priest look like a michael jackson with a beard?
they should do the vidoe of Sculptor void.... just awesome
its really clear, goin to dance, friends
this bands growls is the weary best i have ever heard
HOLY CRAP what a vid, what a song, what a masterpiece o.O
I bet this was so cold to film! 🥶
Muito bom VALEU!!!!
I agree with many posters below. The vocals are something new though, since I've been listening to these guys since their first album. The last 45 seconds really touched me
I first heard this band years ago from a compilation CD with the song 'the illusionist', I like that song and the album it's from.
But which album is considered there best?
I would love to find a band that mixes opeths 'ghost reveries' with Alice in chains 'dirt' album or at least the vocals.
Honestly it's probably pitch black progress(the album with illusionist) or maybe holographic universe
i just recently got into these guys and fucking love them and why does every one hate on the new album its fucking awesome
If it took two singer to replace one...you know your a bad ass vocalist!
They are impressive!!!! But still I can not get used to the new Scar Symmetry vocalists. Yet they are phenomenal.
mi favorite song of the album!!!
@UnrealGeeMan I totally agree with you. Peter Tägtgren friggin' owns this song with his screams and growls.
I know you all miss the old singer, Christian Älvestam. But you have to admit that their music is still hella good. They didnt really change the style that they used to have with Christian. So just stop hating and just sit back and listen to some awesome music.
this is my first time i see a metal man wash the dishes!!! LOOOOL!!!
What exactly does Peter Tagtgren do in this song ?????
Is it the backing vokills ?
Someone tell me cause I cant work it out..............................
4:27 i am the tie the icon o'class eye of the tiger lost the end
Amazing song, Scar Symmetry FTW
@WorldMechanical I didn't say I hated the new ss, I just said I prefer their old style. Their new songs are pretty good too, it's just a different style. My favorites are the iconoclast and A parenthesis in Eternity :)
un bon groupe de Death Melodique ...!!
@nativeawesome the harmony in the end :D
Who is the guest singer in this video, the guy to the right or to the left? What band is he with?
I wasn't a huge fan of that album although I listen to it once in a while.
My problem with the other two albums, holographic and the one before that one, is that the first half is great, while the second half is not so great.

Yeah. I do love this song.
Idda stayed longer but neck and left side 😢
That pastor.... Was right.... All I gotta say ❤
@Shadowfiendization dude, do you find it reasonable that for 3 years, since the albums release, s45 has not performed live??how can it not have fit them in such a long time?
@gamemaker60 I think it is. I like Alpha and Omega, The Anomaly, Illuminoid Dream Sequence best, but the others are nice too.
Amazing song, Loved them before with Christian, Still love them now.
Christian is gone but they got pretty good replacements. Plus they brought their A game to this album. I think this album is their best and their most creative. Well done Scar Symmetry.

when he sings he osunds abit like a young Ozzy. i like it ! :P
@Dervanon i feel you bro. maybe its just that im soo much into the riff. thing. :)
any way this song is awsome so i will do a cover of it without the growling..yeeey!!
i took a moment to see your ppage and there is one long haired guy playing an LTD

omg first time i have heard them this is amazing
