Wonderful! I love the natural, homemade look. An easy way to make ornaments is to make a batter with salt and flour and then cut them out with cookie cutters or freehand with a knife. They need to be baked and are fun to paint and decorate. The recipe can be found online.

You decorating your tree in handmade ornaments reminds me when my 2 boys were your kids age. Our tree was nothing but handmade ornaments and my 2 boys are 44 and 47 and they still have memories of all the fun we had when they were young.

I like to do a tree where most of the things can be eaten.
I have already dried apple, oranges, and lemons. We string popcorn for garland. I also make gingerbread cookies to hang on the tree. Along with a few ornaments.

If i ever have kids i want to make ornaments with them. Yeah the ones you use every year often to have good memories of an event or person, but making ornaments would be a good way to Make memories 😊🎄and teach them a bit about the history behind making them while doing it
I love your and Toyala's humor. I was going to ask why you had the root ball with the Tree! Make sure the tree doesn't dry out (maybe put it in a large bucket so you can water the roots). You don't want the tree to catch fire. If it makes it, I guess you can try to plant it.

Everything is lovely and festive. I have to say my favorite part is the little shelf in the kitchen with the little trees, evergreen boughs and lights. So charming! We decorate with dehydrated oranges too. I also use tiny gourds on the tree. Christmas blessings to you, Tolya and your sweet girls.

That's a beautiful tree with a fantastic big root ball, so it will remain healthy until it's time for it to go outside again. You also have beautiful big windows with a wonderful view as a backdrop, so your decorations looked so lovely, and it was so worth persisting to get them to stick! I've always put my decorations up on christmas eve and kept them up until 6th january when the three kings arrive (12 days of christmas) which is traditional where my mother was born. I don't hold with putting them up too early, I think it's over the top. So I don't think you're late with putting them up. They look lovely and just go to show you don't need to buy ornaments to decorate. It's more personal to make your own. Have a very happy christmas. ❤❤❤❤

This sweet video reminds me of one Christmas when my husband cut down a scraggly tree that his employer wanted rid of. He brought it home sticking out of the trunk of his car. We set it up. It was a sorry looking little tree with sparse, thin branches that wouldn’t hold many of our ornaments. My husband saw the potential in It, but I was skeptical. We popped popcorn and strung it with cranberries to make a garland. We made cinnamon cutout ornaments in the shape of gingerbread men. It was the cutest little tree when we were done, and it’s the one I remember best of all the trees we’ve ever had. Vika, you will always remember this tree with the homemade ornaments.

You did a great job decorating! Your apartment looks super nice and, I'm sure, smells amazing. I love the idea of the Christmas tree being sold with the roots so it can be planted later. Throwing a tree out seems like such a waste. I switched to artificial a long time ago, but I do miss the scent of a real life tree. Merry Christmas!🎄❄🎁
You did a great job with simple materials and it looks lovely! Reminded me of the early years with our children :)
As for the timing, in central Europe many people don't put a tree up or decorate until December 24th, with the exception of an Advent wreath with candles for each Sunday of Advent, so you're not really late! Now that Christmas is more commercialised, there are more public decorations but it didn't used to be that way.
Also, it's more ecologically sound to have a tree you can plant, especially as you have the land with your house ;). They can grow pretty big, though!

The way you presented it from different positions in your flat highlights it so brilliantly. I am so curious how it might look with the usual room lights turned off?
I am also very curious how you are celebrating the different festivities coming, what you are eating and drinking and what are your traditions on these special days of the year. Do you care about the days in between Christmas Eve and New Year? I fon't know the English word for it, in German they are called "Rauhnächte". You are thinking about the last year, and the new year, you are thinking about dear ones who are already gone, you are setting up "Räucherstäbchen" to sweap out bad energy...😊.

You have to keep the roots watered, but should not be in bag, will cause them to rot or grow fungas or mold. Best to get a tree stand, to allow air circulation and keep water in base.

I remember making those snow flakes in school. We put them up on the school windows in the classroom. I remember doing Christmas trees with colored paper and putting those up on the walls. So much fun.
