Being Unfair

The plaintiff rented an apartment from the defendant’s leasing management company. She claims she left the house in perfect condition, but the defendant won’t return the security deposit, so she’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff trashed the house and then disparaged them on social media. She doesn’t think she owes the plaintiff because they needed to use the security deposit to pay for damages.
