My device was in another room as I was listening to the case. I thought the plaintiff was a young girl. When I looked my iPad and show her I was shocked. Ironically, the judge says, “she not a child; she had a very specific request of you that you said you could do,” but she does should like a child. 😂

It was obvious that given the price of a solid gold earring versus the hollow original earring, that the duplicate would have to cost more because it was solid and based on the price of gold. She had to pay based on that price. He should have just given her her one earring back, kept her deposit and said BYE BYE don't come back.
How about she is just told what it really costs from the beginning and then she signs off on a work order or contract if she wants to move forward and pays her deposit. Then she can’t complain after and the gentlemen gets his deposit and can sue HER for the rest if work was done. It’s very simple. If you take a car in and more work needs to be done, you get a phone call and you authorize them over a recorded line that they do the work for whatever the supplement is, otherwise they just complete the primary task if the customer doesn’t have the money for it
My best friend is a master jeweler. He does occasionally make duplicate jewelry for situations just like this. There are plenty of jewelry stores that CAN do this. Make sure they have in house jewelers and they aren't going to send the stuff off. A good shop will bring the jeweler out and let you talk directly to them and they can tell you exactly what is involved at the time.

I don’t know how easy it is to make it hollow so it’s not heavier than the other one. That was the problem. (Plus the extra cost)
