9:10 for those without a numpad keyboard like me, u can set it up by going to “edit” in the top left then click preferences , then input and then at the top it should say emulate numpad. Click that and u should be good
I started Blender about a week ago, and I am floored by it. It is such an amazing tool, and this tutorial has really helped me learn a few new things, so thank you.
Hi I'm a student who started Blender this June and I studied it with very basic tutorials (with my first language) and just tried to make it on myself(especially the characters!; Pokemons). And watching your tutorials really helped a lot when I had difficulties in making it, because your explanation was so amazing that I could understand it at once!! (ex. beveling the mushroom rather than adding loop cuts / dots snapping on the surface, etc) Thank you so much for your detailed explanations and I really appreciate your videos and effort! I sometimes had hard time finding the right tutorial that comes together with my work (shortcuts or methods) so I wanted a fixed course, but I will first try with your youtube! Thank you!
Oh No! I made the whole process but instead of making linked duplicates (Alt + D), I made each one an indipendent object (Shift + D). When I got to the coloring part I noticed my mistake. Had to re-do most of the stuff but it was a really valuable lesson. Thanks Polygon Runway for this amazing tutorial!
You could easily link them after, if you select them all and press ctrl + L -> object & data they become linked as if you alt+D'd them ;) for the future reference :)
Damn that leaf is beautiful! I learned many things here like how to make said leaf, how to snap objects to faces, how to rotate an object based on another object and many other things. Great video!
This was so informational and calming to listen to. I like the you explain the steps and say the keys out loud. Im def making this the next chance i get.
I saw this tutorial pop-up on my recommended videos, and I immediately knew I had to make this! Thanks for the tutorial, I had a lot of fun copying this!
I liked, subscribed, and shared with some friends who are also learning Blender at the same time. But mostly. HOW IS A TUTORIAL THIS INSANELY HELPFUL AND EFFECTIVE SO QUICK AND EASY AND ESPECIALLY FREE? Wow, this is incredible mate. Just absolutely brilliant educational resource for basics of modelling, how you turned a square into a leaf, into a clutch of leaves, that damn quick? You're a fabulous teacher. As a Blender newbie, thank you for this resource!
Great tutorial, Thanks and keep sharing this kind of tutorials 👏🏻 Would be great if you could make something like a treasure inside of a cave with glowing gems
Awesome tutorial. I LOVE the fact that you mention ALL keys being pressed (and include the visual key presses in the bottom right hand corner) There was a time I thought you said Ctrl + D and kept hitting a dead end, saw someone else said you show keypresses... it was Ctrl + P! My poor ears didnt hear it right lol
I've been following all of your tutorials and it's helping a lot with getting me familiar with blender. I always get stuck on the last parts LOL. I can't seem to paint on the object that I unwrap, it will paint on the duplicate, and I have no idea why. Keep the tutorials coming.
Hi! maybe you already manage to do that but for those that don't. When you create a new material for an object, check the button that appears as a "X" that will unlink your block and you should be fine to paint it
Started a couple days ago, this was my first modeling tutorial, i ended up making mine quite a bit different than yours, but the grass is a dead giveaway that I used this tutorial lol.
Unable to extrude step at 1.25 mins with Blender 3.6. You used 'E' key for extrusion in vertex mode and got the extrusion but here it is not the case. Sometimes very basic steps become a challenge probably due to version difference. Anyways thanks for your amazing tutorials.
I need d help ,When i tried to do texture painting the cartoon eyes didn't show up on the mushroom selected, instead it was on the other mushroom. 18:58
at 10:33 my edge select only selects the corners that I just created for that plane. i cannot bevel as i cannot select the edge. i pressed two and confirmed im only in edge select mode, but cant get past this... #help
Followed everything to a T so I'm not sure why when I try to do the second bevel at 3:00 it does absolutely nothing. I can even ctrl z to go back and re-do the first bevel for the top of the mushroom and that works totally fine, but for whatever reason it just wont let me do a bevel for the bottom of the mushroom. I'm pressing ctrl b and the little line cursor is coming up like I'm doing a bevel, but none actually show up on the mesh. I'm so sad.
Awesome tutorial! I got stuck trying to follow you when you add an area light 13:58. When I press period on num pad it just zooms into the plane. Is there another way to do that step, or am I missing something? Thank you!
Okay... after expiramenting I found that just the regular period (not on num pad) brings up the menu I'm looking for. Hope this helps someone else if they get stuck here as well. Cheers!
It is an old comment, but maybe helps somebody. I had the same problem, ctrl + 2 on my Numpad didn't work. But then i tried pressing 2 on main part of keyboard (under the function keys)and that worked.
@@polygonrunway ty. I'm starting with blender and all about the theme. That's why it's bit hard to understand at first but hopefully I could manage to create somethimh soon 😁
Darnnit, was following along but my mushroom cap and stem are linked some how I dont know when I joined them or even how I did that haha. trying to figure out how to unlink so I can have different materials assigned to them
The copying and aligning location to target did not work for me at all, the dots were either very far outside of the top bit or inside the mushroom (total mayhem honestly), any idea what could cause that? I did the hard way now by placing them all manually but would love for it to work!
great tutorial! could you tell us how you approach recording it? i mean when you have to pause the recording, or when you close either blender or your pc? how do you resume the recording? also, what software are you using for this? thank you!
he added an additional bevel segment with mouse wheel to make it smoother/less jarring, then selected bottom face and extruded (pushed it into) the mushroom so the stalk goes into the cap instead of just sitting on the flat bottom of it
Your process and explanations are phenomenal! Lighting and tips to improve the finishing touches have been a challenge for me and this really helped !
Glad to help! :)
It's so lovely to have a simple modeling tutorial that explains how to set up lights and render.THANK YOU!!!!!

This was such a big help for me getting back into blender! I with youtube had a share feature so we could all show our models
same, even I wish the same. I would like to share my attempt and look at other artists attempts too
there used to be a video response feature back in like 2008 or something ^^
W video W tutroial. The only thing I had to do other than watch this video was look at how to fully render so that took a whole other step.
