For those of you that maybe aren't getting the bevel modifier to apply, check the geometry submenu of the bevel and make sure 'clamp overlap' is not selected! Had me scratching my head for some minutes there! Great video! :D
I love this kind of lighining tutorials... It gives a complete awesome look even for simple models like that. Really useful tip as well to cut throught the geometry. Thank you very much!

I'm stuck at 3:50, the bevel in offset mode doesn't do anything to the sphere unless I change it to percentage or absolute, I didn't scale the sphere in object mode or anything like that why is it happening?
This just blows me away... I am a complete novice when it comes to 3D anything, especially blender. I've done the donut tutorial, once. That's the extent of my blender knowledge. And, of course, when I go to do my own stuff, I can't remember a single thing lol I aspire to be 1/4 as good as this one day. Great, great job with this!

If any rendering with a Nvidia card, I fine that turning off "Use Tiling" altogether reduces the render time. For me this went from 28 seconds to 11.98. Give this a try ;) Great video PR and I really like your teaching style too.

when I try cutting to make the ring around the ball it only goes halfway around, and if I try cutting from the other side to try and connect them they are not aligned, how is yours cutting all the way around?

The order you did it just aligned the camera to the background, but it worked out in yours. Any reason why?

Easiest way = duplicate with SHIFT+D (instead of alt+D) and change the material of the light to a new one. Bit harder = locate the material slot and switch its mode from data to object (small icon underneath material list), then add different material in the slot

I got stuck on that part too. Go to Edit mode > Ctrl + L (or just L)> Click the top half should be selected and assign your Red to it!

use material random color input ,connecting color ramp then you will have different color on each copy automatically

Nevermind, I duplicated with ALT+D, so I deleted them and then duplicated with SHIFT+D, and that made it right

Numpad changes your view. The numbers along the top of your keyboard change vertex, edge, face when in edit mode.

Just add subdivision modifier! When I do the hotkey, it doesn't work either. So I just go to the wrench tool and add the modifier that way
