to those who had problem using the bevel modifier 7:09 (the bevel is not working), try to go to edit mode, select all by typing A then type M and choose "by distance"

Thanks!
Love you bro, ty❤️
Saved me from a rage quit! 😂
THANK YOU!
i like this kind of art more than realistic arts.
Like me, low poly/characteristic art pleases me more. Looks more cute and charming
I learned like 90% of Blender stuff from you, you da beasto
10% is the donut
DONUTS!
This is great, but for beginners its hard to follow throwing short cuts around and moving quite fast, but I learned alot! Thanks!
i use alot of x0.75 and x0.5 when watching blender tutorials :D
@@kobiianardo hehe same here, i was constantly going "wait what did i miss?"
Guys, while making the first leaf. What did he do to make that rectangle into a rounded rectangle at 13:55.
I am a MacBook user.
@@MandeepSingh-gz8hz he subdivided, if that doesnt work to well add a subdivision surface modifier
I'd love to see a tutorial for shortcuts with some sort of categorization. For example which are for extrusion, which are for scalimg etc.
I love stylized graphics, and this is one of the best tutorial u can rarely find
Thank you, mate!
@@polygonrunway yeah, its pretty easy from you, 6 months ago, today i downloaded 2.93, ive watched already ur vids, and the comments are pretty positive, so looks like you are going to be my #1
I hope its a good spawn near fortress.
it isn't obby tho
Heh xD no obby bro
If I advanced in the 3D world, and become a 3D artist, that is because of you. you are motivating me to do what I love most about art. Thank you so much.
Thats really great to hear. Thank you for sharing
I follow your channel for a year and im still impressed abt ur proyects. I really love it! These inspire me
Great to hear that, mate :)
Love that motive. Had a few issues following, especially in the end (yes even on .5 speed) but that's probably just my missing experience. This is officially my third project and I learned a few new things - thanks!
That's great to hear! Keep it up :)
alright, i started this tutorial and was frustrated within 5 minutes. took a small break and came back. then spent my entire sunday patiently following along. I now have one of the first renders that I'm actually proud of. I have a much better understanding of modeling for low poly now. Thank you so much
That's really great to hear! Keep it up :)
Very nice! Others are complaining that this tutorial goes too quick, but I think it's a great follow-up to any beginner-oriented series! Had lots of fun and learned a lot with this!
Awesome! Glad you like it! :)
I agree I'm watching these after watching Blender Guru's donut tutorial and I'm doing fine for the most part lol
Looks amazing! Thank you for the tutorial!
A very short, simple but rewarding project, thanks!
Glad you like it :)
This is magic! Thanks!
You are the best in BLENDER!💪
Such a great tutorial! Thank you!
Love that displacement modifier tip. I deffo need to make better use of empties.
This is so beautiful! 😍
Stunning. Thank you very much for that great tutorial.
Thank you :)
At this moment, this is my favorite video on RUclips!

As a non beginner I loved this pace. Also at 10:45 ,that was genius ✌
looks epic, i did it my self... pretty happy
Thanks, very useful tutorial
You're welcome ;)
i love your work!!!!! amazing as always
Thank you :)
Great tutorial! Very happy with my portal. Animated it and rendered in cycles though, so have been waiting almost 2 hours for it to finish hahaha
Hope it went good on 1st try :)
Thanks so much for your videos! They are helping a lot when you're learning (we see a good amount of techniques and the result is pretty) Seriously your videos are so helpfull!
Awesome! I'm happy to be helpful :)
This is awesome!! I could follow along easily since I have gone through one of your beginner's tutorials. Perhaps it would help beginner viewers if you provide links to certain blender basics throughout the video.
Great work, bro!
Thanks :)
Owesome! Thank you very much for this class!
You're welcome! Glad you like it :)
Thanks a lot!! It was really helpful!
Thank you sir, that looks really cool!!
PS make sure you are in cycles!
easy and intuitive explications! thank you!
Glad you like it :)
Thank you so much 👏
Great tutorial
I love this videos with comentary, congratulations 👌👌👌👌👌
Glad to hear that ;)
Unselect Clamp Overlap in Geometry if you're having trouble with Bevel Modifier
thank you!
Thanks you saved my life
Love it!!!
I didn't know that alt + e and alt +s were things. Also I was pretty confused about what textures actually did but I know that too now, thanks.
You're welcome :)
Very very cool!
Thanks ;)
this is a good tutorail for beginners. Nice work thanks
Glad you like it :)
Aperture Science loved that.
More like black Mesa, cause aperture science portal gun is more of a short range portable teleportation device
amazing!
To call you talented is a massive understatement. Kudos where it’s due. ✊ ❤️ 🙏
🙏🤘
pls try one of the 7 wonders
amazing
Thanks for the tutorial. I'll soon be purchasing one of your courses.
Just in case somebody has the same problem I did, the Bevel Modifier does not work if your object has double vertices :)
Thanks for the tip :)
what do you mean by double vertices?
my modifier still does not work
If bevel modifer dosent work for you u must merge duplicate vertecs by select all vertecs (A in edit mode) Then right click "Merge vertices" and "by distance"
Worked for me, thanks!
this worked for me also, thanks so much!
Wonderful!!
Thank you :)
this is my third day learning to blender👍
I love your video
Great! Keep it up ;)
@@polygonrunway I just made a character among us😅😅
Demasiado finoooo
Please do a lighting tutorial, why you put what light etc
Thank you
I love it :)
💙
Nice work.
Thanks!
I love your art style, I click on the thumbnail no matter how hard I try not to- I love your videos, and tutorials!
Thank you! Means a lot 🙏
@@polygonrunway No problem, it's true tho- your channel is very underrated, it should be as famous as blender guru's
Love your VOICE man.. And also your content brother ✌✌
Thank you!
Really perfect...
Thanks :)
thank youuuuu!
You're welcome ;)
Bro i just subbed to you, im from instagram, and this is a *GREAT* video!
Welcome and thank you :)
Nice one
You're so good at lighting. I followed along through the video just fine, but I couldn't even come close to your lighting even while watching along.
It gets better with time and more projects, keep it up! :)
I learned a lot , im making my own portal and ill put it up on artstation and then ill link to this video tutorial.
Great! Good luck ;)
excellent video as usual...pls can you do some food modelling tips 👍
Wow what a coincidence only today I made a portal to Mars concept art and posted it in Instagram 😇
i've never thought to make a leaf like that lol. so easy but sometimes you overthink stuff like this
my evee is broken so i rendered it in cycles and it looks amazing, thank you
Same - did you also had the problem that the portal texture was weird even though you copied everything?
well nevermind he also worked in cycles I'm dumb, oversaw it at first
he changes back to eevee at some point - I'm so confused
Very good tutorial, but when I put my rendering in cycles and then GPU compute, everything is pixelated even after a long wait. Leaving in evee will something change in the end ?
Whenever I see your notification I come running no matter what I do😂😂
💙 much appreciated ;)
@@polygonrunway sir which effect can help to create a blade like Raizels blade from legacy of kain soul reaver 1??
That's wonderful ! Your style of creation is splendid ! For example when we create a portal exactly like this one, is it possible to put it on Unreal Engine to make a scenery or a game but exactly the same as the one you made, please ?
I want to know this as well but for Unity.
you could transfer it by saving it and adding it in ue4 unreal engine
You can export it as a .fbx for ue4
I ve just saw u in tiktok with your tutorial.
really wish you would have explained the rest towarrdss the end too. but overall i learned a lot thankk you
incrivel!!!!
yu wow portal perfec animation blender
For some reason the bevel at 13:17 doesn't work for me. Nothing happens. I select the edge between the ground and the vertical wall, hit Ctrl+b, and it just doesn't do a thing. Even if I use the mouse wheel to add subdivisions it won't work.
niceee ;D
8:10 Unselect Clamp Overlap in Geometry if you're having trouble with Bevel Modifier. Si tienes problemas con el modificador de Bevel, desactiva Clamp Overlap en Geometry.
loooove it I learn blender with so much fun because of you
Awesome! :)
Can you make an animated version of this? I loved doing this tut!
Can you create a tips video on how to maintain this type of aesthetic using different techniques?
Hello 👋🏻, at the time of the portal’s texture, I don’t the waves, I put all my settings like you but there is something that don’t allow me to see the texture, do you know why ?
Nice
Only best
Great tutorial for beginner tbh. But not sure how you turned a plane into an oval for the flower petals?
Great tutorial! Been playing with it for hours! Will the blender-file be available for Patreons? Can't get the portal right and can't figure out what's wrong so would be awesome to be able to reverse engineer it. Keep it up!
I'm on it :)
@Polygon Runway
Hi, I'm trying to Ctrl + B to an individual vertex and I can't give it the shape you create, it only works for edges ...
You need to additionally press V after ctrl+B
Great tutorial, easy to understand and follow along.
I have slight problem where the portal material doesn't seems to pass the light like in your project, back light pass a little but point light doesn't pass through at all. any suggestion on how to fix this?
Glad you like it! Transmission materials are very sensitive to color brightness, try to avoid darker tones, go really bright, also you can play with IOR on the shader options and check normals as well
awesome work like your commentary helps understand how you are making your art look good....Was this rendered in cycles or eevee thanks?
Glad you like it ;). It's cycles
Hello can you also explain what you're doing with the Camera at 15:00 ? Rotate around world origin but how is the model rotating with the camera view?
I've just selected camera and background and rotated them both around the cursor
The settings for making the portal appear like water don't seem to exist in version 4. There's just one "transmission" section with only "weight" as an option and it doesn't seem to do anything? What would be the way to go about creating this effect in newer versions?
How does the parts of the gate on 2:55 does not get scaled with the selected faces?
for those that got stuck in the minute 1:30 you need to touch the botton of the shape and delete that instead of triying to touch the objet itself.
thanks, that works
New portal to Minecraft!
