I know Eugene is busy with a million things but I feel Wicked would be an amazing episode for him to be on
I was diagnosed with ocd at 18 and I know Zach had it too. I feel a movie that really shows what is like living with pure ocd is Ella enchanted.
Turtles All The Way Down is also a great OCD series/book. The book made me cry so hard. Idk how John Green keeps doing it but he does
6 American Girl Dolls for $600 is $1,174 in the 1990s. Kelsey was that girl 🤭
Same thoughts. I had to save up for a year to buy one doll at 8 years old. It was $85 plus shipping.
My name is Molly and my Grandma got me a Molly American girl doll and I remember being disappointed that the nerdy, glasses wearing doll was my namesake... cut to me as an adult now and I am very much a glasses wearing nerd and now I believe it was a very accurate read on me LOL
We need a review on BRATZ ROCK ANGELZ
YES THANK YOU
YESS!!!
Kelsey…everyone of all ages has American girl dolls…these divas NEVERRRR go out of style
kelsey is ONTO something with this horse girl -> relationship with dad thing lmfao i was absolutely that kid and i can confirm all that confidence left when my dad did
Literally every horse girl I know has a great relationship with their dad. It’s crazy. Idk how she’s right but she just might be
American Girl helped teach me history as a kid. I loved the books! I forgot how much trauma there is in them. I had Molly since I had glasses really young.
At the beginning of the movie, the mother is telling Felicity now that she's ten she should start to focus more on womanly duties around the house such as preparing dinner. I found this hilarious because you can clearly see an enslaved women RIGHT THERE in the kitchen doing the actual cooking.
Please do Kit Kittredge next. It has Stanley Tucci in it.
I forgot he was in that too! Such a good movie, yes! Hopefully they see this but especially Zach
YES! AND JOAN CUSACK, my queen!
Please review 2003 Peter Pan.
They don’t make films like that anymore 👏😭
Gotta love Zach, Kelsey, and Garrick processing their emotions about the election via this movie 😆
Kelsey, my friends who had 2 were considered the bougie friends. You had ALL of them???
I loved this movie as a kid. It started conversations I wouldn't have had, from a very young age.
I feel, and someone who knows the books better than I do can correct, that the slavery wasn't as addressed in Felicity's story because Addy's main story is all about that. I don't remember the books repeating storylines all that often if it was covered in depth by another doll.
Dude, someday there’s going to be a COVID American Girl Doll!😅
47:28 Garrick, in regards to Dune 2 they used an Arri Alexa that was modified by removing the IR filter from the sensor, and when combined with a specific wavelength IR filter on the lens, you will capture only the infrared spectrum. They then converted it to black and white, and you're left with that ethereal glow and otherworldly look. All digital sensors are capable of capturing light outside of the visible spectrum, however they use filters to cut out the IR as it would make the images look weird and not true to life (or how our eyes see the world). This is a kind of popular modification to do to digital cameras as you get super cool and unique pink and blue photos.
As someone who watched this movie as a child, TECHNICALLY, it's made for TV, there was a premiere on my couch. I believe this film came out as part of an ad-free premiere on Hallmark (or a channel like Hallmark). Samantha and Molly had similar premieres as well, but I think on different channels.
If you’re going to do another American girl movie, in the Samantha movie a child working in a factory gets his hand stuck in an industrial sewing needle and that was very formative for me
29:22 the unison "Ooh!? O:" lolz
37:16 "huh? 👀"
Next movie suggestion:
My scene Jammin in Jamaica
Y’all have to do the Kit movie next now! I loved it when I was younger
Zach's hair is almost giving mullet and I'm here for it
We had the American girl books in classrooms for reading time, I loved them. Never had a doll, I was poor lol
"This girl for sure owned slaves!" Don't you disrespect my immigrant queen! She did not have her bestie die on the boat to America for this disrespect!
This has no business being this funny. Top-tier commentary 😂😂😂
petition for a redo of american girl video, with the girls of the try fam
I was an only child to a fair middle class family and sure never had any of these dolls 😂 Kelsey fancy
The ending to the Penguin was brutal and really makes you remain hateful of the penguin and whatever his in-universe career will be.
Such a great show! But yeah, I was NOT expecting that ending at all 😮
As an Australian, never seen the movie... But I searched up the Ben actor & OMG!
That's Kevin Zegers! Loved him as Josh in Airbud! ❤
Plus he was in "It's a Boy Girl Thing" & "The Jane Austen Book Club" & The Mortal Instruments movie.
He also starred in Zoom: Academy for Superheroes and in a music video with Miley Cyrus (The Big Bang - Rock Mafia)!! I feel like he's one of those actors who you see everywhere but never remember where you know him from
Next movie suggestion: poly world
Wasn't expecting this but I'm here for it!
I had Samantha and Addie, the polar opposites lol. The American Girl computer game was everything too, you could make them say willllld things 😝
Here for my weekly hairspray request 😭
I said this on the main channel vid and I’ll say it again here: Molly McIntire taught me how to pin curl my hair 🩷
Oh you HAVE to kit kittredge
For the Tucci!
You need to watch the Samantha American Doll movie after the slander on her name you did in the Try Guys American Doll video 🤣
THIS EPISODE WAS LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR ME.
Me sitting here kind of awkward because my fam was rich, definitely middle class… but I had several years of American girl doll obsession, so after probably 6-7 years of collecting I have 10 dolls. Granted three were from eBay for a far lower price. I also love that my mom showed me the weight of how much these dolls were worth by making me save up for my first doll (birthday money/chore money) and after I saved up for one she would buy me here best friend. Samantha and Nelly were my first dolls 😊
1- you guys have definitely talked about mini horse camp in the past. 2- I was a horse girl and Felicity was my favorite. I had the doll and her horses.
“I feel uncomfortable calling them slaves” try replacing that with “enslaved people” -it really does make a difference (I’m saying this in good-faith, not trying to be the vocab police)
When I went to Colonial Williamsburg in middle school I didn’t acknowledge it for its historical significance I acknowledged that it was where the Felicity movie was filmed
I hooked up with the jc at horse camp, Tommy Girl will always trigger that memory! 🤣🤣🤣 Not a horse girl, but for sure the trouble drug girl. Kelsey speaks truth! 🤌🏼😂
Just watch gladiator and can't wait to hear you guys talk/geek out about it. hope it's coming.
I'm South American so I've never even heard of those dolls, but I did just now watch the movie just to have some context for this episode. And tbh I really fucking liked it. The storyline reminded a bit of Anne with an E, so I feel like it's a pretty beautiful story for a young girl to be exposed to. I understand the theme completely ignored the slaves' struggles and story, but I'm not sure how much can be asked from a 2004 made for TV movie for kids. I don't mean to be unmindful regarding this subject, I for sure don't have enough context to talk about American History and it's issues.
During my country's Revolution (1810-1816) we had a law called "freedom of wombs" that declared all babies born from slaves (who were brought here by the Spanish Crown) were to be free citizens. So it's really opening to hear your views on the film :)
What if they watched Babbitty Kate’s videos and then did a podcast about it… when worlds collide!
I learned about the loyalists vs patriots in this at that PBS kids show Liberty Kids 👀
Knickerbockers 😂😂😂
Can't wait for the Anora episode, let's go~~~
WP really do fight more for animal rights than (black) people's rights. It's on brand
This means so much to me
Did anyone ever see the American Girl Doll Musical Revue?? Or was that just me 😅
ruclips.net/video/k2iJE8tiIT8/видео.html
I think theres one with Olivia Rodrigo iirc
I need them to know Ben was the lead boy in air bud. I need that discussed lmao. He was super cute
Not a movie but may I suggest looking into Liberty Kids cartoon
I need y'all to watch Arcane, I know it's two seasons but PLEASE consider it
NEED them to watch Chrissa Stands Strong
I never wanna hear how kelsey hadcit bad if she had all the american girl dolls.
Weekly ask for step up 3d!!! Also the only American girl doll movie i saw was the kit kittredge one
SAMANTHA AND MOLLY ARE REALLY GOOD ONES TOO
I didn't have the dolls but I loved the books!
Ben ( Kevin Zegar) was 21 and Shailene Woodley was 14 😬 23:00
i would like to note that in the books felicity is 9 and ben is 16. it's bad
If you have the patience and attention span to learn the lore of American Girl dolls, from the books to movies to the dolls, then why y'all so hateful towards anime? I see no difference between this culture and the culture of manga/anime. Garrick please stand up!
Who's hateful towards anime? Garrick is a big fan, Kelsey has been watching some of Garrick's recommendations and seems to like it, and Zach is a big DBZ fan.
I HAVEN’T LISTENED YET - MAYBE IT GETS SAID IN THE POD - BUT PLEASE DO SAMANTHA!!!!!!
You HAVE. To do Chrissa now.
Kelsey, I’m a decade younger than you and I have the Ivy American girl doll (the only Chinese one when I was a kid, and she was the best friend character lmaooo)
Please do another music episode 🙏 Maybe Linkin Park? Y'all mentioned this idea before and could help contextualize the controversy with the new lead singer?
You don’t understand how much this means to me
Need y’all to watch the Olivia Rodrigo American girl movie I think Zach would flip
I haven't had a good relationship with my Dad haha But thats why I like the problem horses. Ya know, those fun daddy issues trying to fix things ROFL
I still get nightmares about zach pieing Kit
I’m SEATED
You were RICH compared to me. I wanted to buy 1 doll for both my daughters but could not afford it. I had to get them the Target knock off. If I were to get one it would have been Molly BECAUSE she had glasses. I think glasses should be an accessory that is easy to add to any of them.
Please watch Memory with Liam Neeson
Ngl I’m mad on Garricks behalf… you can see this entire episode he was uncomfortable and talked over. I love Zack and Kelsey but read the ROOM
I read every single samantha book but never had a doll.
KIRSTEN IS A POOR IMMIGRANT SHE DID NOT OWN SLAVES
felicity on the other hand
I WANNA TALK ABOUT A MUPPET XMAS CAROL 😭
I will keep suggesting ICE PRINCESS ⛸️❄️ until it happens 🙏🏼
