- The era of privateers and Independents was a fun time. While it sucks that those days are over, it felt like we saw its last hurrah through the mid-1990s. Today's subject is Italy's final privateer: Forti Corse.

So in a way, Peugeot killed Senna.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Bobcat205, I subscribed because your videos are super cool!
This is a superb video! Thank you for the time and effort invested in to it! In a way it makes me nostalgic for 90s F1. Anyone who wanted had a shot at it, unlike Andretti today....
Waiting for the next one!
Another new subscriber!
One constant thing you could say about Roberto Moreno is that he always seemed to get the best out of sub-standard equipment, he even managed to qualify for 1992 Monaco GP in an Andrea Moda car
Forti logo looks something out of Microsoft paint
Probably was, on a cracked windows pc
it was the 90s thats just what stuff looked like
This is excellent. Good luck with your channel
Great video! If you've lived through those times, you'll understand everything.
10:39 That Metalocalypse guitar censor is unmistakeable.
Now I have the mental image of William Murderface and Toki Wartooth running a F1 team which backfires spectacularly.
-Pic shown at 1:10 is not Paolo Guerci. It's former F1 driver René Arnoux who was driver coach to Pedro Diniz in 1995.
-The FG01 gearbox did not use a H pattern. It was a sequential one. Only thing was that it still use a lever (last F1 to do so) instead of paddles on the steering wheel.
-FG03 did not make it's 1st appearence at Monaco, but at the previous race at Imola, where only one chassis was available, for Luca Badoer.
-I guess I’m just terrible at recognizing faces, I did not see that as Rene Arnoux. Also didn’t know Arnoux was involved with the team, none of the sources I read said anything about that.
-I probably should have specified that Monaco was when it was fully rolled out, with both drivers driving the new car.
On a different note, your videos are a godsend, thank you for uploading all of your old F1 footage. I wouldn’t have much b-roll without it.
excellant video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Definitely enjoyed this video, but that alternate history stuff was a HUGE stretch 😂
I love these videos, very simple and very informative.
I really hope you keep growing as a channel because these videos are great.
Love ur videos buddy. Top class
The 95 Forti Chassis was based on the Fondmetal car from 92. Not a good or particular fast Car by itsself.
I think the Fondmetal GR02 is under-rated, the team suffered from a lack of finance to make it reliable but in qualifying trim it was often in the midfield with Tarquini qualifying 11th at the Belgian GP. I think if Fondmetal had the money to invest in making it reliable, the GR02 may have scored some points.
I think the 'what if' is original compared to other F1 channels. Keep it going, short as it is.
Minor: foreign names are mispronounced. Google translate can help?
I figured that I messed up names like "Guerci" and "Gancia", and I had a bit of doubt with "Montermini" (Murray Walker pronounced it one way, but some Italian sources I watched pronounced it the way I did in the video) in post production, but if there's anything else I mispronounced, do not hesitate to let me know. If their names come up again in a future video, I'll make the correction.
Spot on, loved the end as well. Lets be honest, the cheats of Benetton and Schumacher should have been kicked out in 1994. Cheated all through the season
8:10 Don't forget Benetton!
metalocalypse censor sound effect.. brutal!
That's doable
Oh shit dude, hi!
Let me take a wild guess here. You don't like Schumacher?
I don't necessarily *dislike* Michael Schumacher. I do prefer Senna over him. though (I think Jim Clark is better than both of them, but that's a different conversation entirely).
All I'm saying is that the Option 13 scandal at Benetton would have been pushed a whole lot farther had Senna not been killed at Imola. Just how much that would have influenced Schumi's career is unknown, but I'd hazard a guess that the big teams would have a sort of "guilty via association" approach to him post-Benetton.
@@Bobcat205 unlikely.
the B195 was the car to beat in 95. No result or DNQ would have changed that. Next time when you do Alt-History, go the Benetton-Peugeot line. Its more fun.
Also it was more likely that Schumacher would have joined Mclaren for 96 (as three teams wanted to sign him in 95 based on 94). You know that Ligier was also owned by Briatore, so it makes no sense to set his best driver in a slower car.
I dont think you like Schumacher
I like where you're trying to go with this channel, but I think you're trying to be Aidan Millward.
Maybe you want to consider what you can do to differentiate yourself?
It's up to you of course, good luck.
So, benetton doesn't win in 94 and 95 in your weird, what if scenario, but williams still does in 96?
Benetton fell off in 95 why?
Garbage last 5 mins of a decent video.
Keep dreaming Dude.....
