Rain always a part of the Rebild festival. Usually when we have attended, we have had raincoats, umbrellas and waterproof stuff to sit on along. Very fun.
In the eighteenth century, a very large part of the Danish population immigrated to the United States. It has been quite challenging for these Danes to change culture and live far from home. And I think the three of you can totally relate to that. Moving your "fence posts" across the Atlantic is a feat. I think you are doing great!
My Dad's Mom , my Grand mother, when I was a Child , used to perform at Rebil Bakker , Jutland, on stage with her group off Danish Folk Dancing group. All in Folk Costumes. Years before I migrated to the U.S. , which she did not live to experience. Amazing.🇺🇸🌷🇩🇰😍🌅🙏
I have actually never been to the Rebild Festival, even my parents (and myself, when I was young) lived in Rebild from 1976 till 2022. In any case the area is beautiful, I I always looking forward to my next visit.
I went to Rebildfest with my parents in 1969. I got to shake hands with then VP Hubert Humphrey. I was eleven and we traveled all around DK for ten weeks visiting my parents homeland and numerous family members. (I also have a DK born cousin that lives here in CA who has been active on the Rebild committee. ) 🇩🇰🇺🇸
Ted Sorensen was the name of JFK's speechwriter. And I totally agree with you - we need people to be inspired by politicians like JFK. He was a great leader and a great president.
Another great video, I didnt actually know so much about the Rebild Festival other then what i have heard from the news. So inspirational in these times with events that focuses on bringing people together.
0:41 "To come celebrate the connection between America and the US". 😊😂 Yeah America and the US are pretty well connected aren't they? 😉 I think it's the connection to Denmark they celebrate. 😊
it was great to have you here in Aalborg. I loved meeting you all, and having time to chat during the Galla. Wonderful. ( regards from the guy who took the photo at the Galla ;-))
Haha, great to meet you at the Gala! We really had a great time and enjoyed our conversation. Thanks for taking the time with us and your fantastic photography skills :).
here's a tip to avoid the nightmare bridge if going to central and northern jutland. take the molslinien ferry from sjællands ode to århus. you might even save money and time
I Saw you at the entrance, I was the organizer of the pro-choice happening there. IT was very emotional with all the women raising their fists in support.
As usual a nice little video, with some fun facts, on the topic of Americans in Denmark and danes in the states, if you don’t know him already try looking up William S. Knudsen aka Big Bill, keep em coming 😂👍
Too bad you had a little much of the Danish rain, but that is a liability in this country 🤣☔️🌦 Happy, that you had a fun time at Rebild, it is a different experience 🤩🎶 Happy belated 4th! 🇩🇰🇺🇲 hello from Hundested 🌸🌱
13:06 Actually Jacob Dinesen is not from that part of Denmark (Himmerland), but from Tønder in Sønderjylland near the Danish-German bordrer. Btw. the full name of the Danish actor playing JFK in the movie Jackie is Caspar Phillipson. Rebild Bakker is a Danish national park and very beautiful place to walk around in and also connected to Denmark's second largest forest area Rold Skov.
Hope you read about "Rebild National Park" (or Rebild Bakker as we call it) online. There used to be a log cabin, build of logs from all American states. Unfortunately it burned down 5-10 years ago - if I remember correctly. There's a video on RUclips about Rebild Festival named "Richard Chamberlain Rebild 1990". Or just search "rebild july 4"). ••••••• Since you seem to have decided to stay in Denmark, you need to read about our history. 📚🙂 I'm particularly happy that most Jewish Danes were saved during ww2 (though it wasn't as black-and-white as some will have it). [I wrote about this earlier - and more extensively - but it disappeared.]
You chosed to make this video this week and do the other things, not because it is easy, but because it is hard. Because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of your energies and skills , because that challenge is one that you are willing to accept, one you are unwilling to postpone, and one you intend to win, and the others, too.
Can you make a video about how much you learn in Danish like cultural and the language. Or it could be really cool if you make a Danish episode of travelling young.
Wery happy that you are here. You seem like lovely people. One thing i was wondering. Have you felt a difference in the way Americans are seen In Denmark? From our perspective it looks and feels like it has become the divided states of America. When the media paints a picture of Americans, it is of the extremes. You have obviously experience with the ordinary American, do you feel like the way US Is described is correct? Have your perspective In politics in the US changed in the last year's? Kind regards and a sincere thank you for being here.
ref 14:56 Very nice suite (or "dress" like I call it) and dress (or "kjole"). I have never found out why there is this switch from female to male in describing formal attire.
A small mistake crept in. It is not the "connection between America and the us" that is celebrated, but the connection between us and Denmark. Naaah, just joking. Just funny, that neither Josh nor Miranda discovered it. It is 0:43 in the video, when Miranda says it 😊 You are doing really well and I see all your videos. And then it's great, that you have decided to stay in our little country 😊❤️🌞
@@TravelinYoung It does'nt matter. We all make small mistakes, when we talk. So it was in no way, to bother you. You do it really well, and I see everything you do.
