  • Watch my visit at the Workshop of Andrea Schudtz.
I think you will love it. The building is nice and all the staff is cheering up and are making the visit a joyful experience. I know Andrea for already 30 years and I was extremly surprised to find such well organized shop.
All instruments are ready to be shipped worldwide with their certificates; the cafe from Naples they served me was delicious and I really liked his new mission of creating a decorated Quartet.
He is a man full of passion to our trade and by talking to him I discovered also other passions.
A great maker who participates to spread high quality made in Cremona in the world.

How is it possible that this many world class violin makers can coexist in Cremona? I am fascinated. And they speak Italian so well.

That was a beautiful viola, I wondered if anyone put the Stradivarius effort into instruments today, I guess the answer is yes. It seems his hobby is also instrument making and he spends some time trying to make instruments people will marvel about in 100 years.

I swear, in about 20 years, if you are still working, I’ll buy an instrument from you. :)

I couldn’t wait twenty years. I just bought one. And my wife doesn’t know it, which will be difficult to explain as HER birthday is coming up. I’m hoping it arrives when she is not home, and when I’ll be playing she will just believe my technique improved that much.

Just consider that prices are going up quite equal at approximately 6 to 7% in average every year. The earlier you buy one the more fun you have.
Enjoy following us here. And watch out because time passes very quick!
      All the best

Edgar Russ Distinguished Violinmaker I understand, thank you so much for your advice. Also, I think the increase in price is fair since not only are you spending so much time and effort on an instrument, but you are also improving at your craft each year. :) Alas, I’m only a kid currently and I can’t afford any of your instruments at the moment. I did calculations and, assuming I am successful at achieving my job goal, it should take around 20 years for me to get set up so I can buy an instrument. That should also give me enough time to advance in my repertoire. That is why I said “twenty years”. Keep up the great work!
