Mic'd up Greg has been a game changer. Appreciate all the attention to detail shown and explanation of the thought process. Nice shop...
Samuel L Jackson. Jurassic Park "hold onto your butts"
Was about to say that
I was yelling it at my phone like they could hear me all the way up in Illinois
AKA Dr Arnold
I totally forgot that he was in that movie!
“Hold on to your butts”
Cillian Murphy. Oppenheimer.
3 seconds before detonation.
Gregs wedding gift is a new house built to perfection by the perfect team. ❤️❤️
lol
The banter makes the video more interesting. Especially like to hear Greg’s laugh! It’s HILARIOUS! ❤
I live in Canada, we usually put the attic access in the gable end above the air barrier.
You guys have such a rad positive vibe going on. Normally on job sites it's all put downs and self deprecation but listening to you guys praise and encourage each other...it's awesome
You guys are crazy!! "We tip-touched..." 😂
I'd pay to see that 😉
If ever I think I might have a touch of OCD, I can always come to Kyle, gluing conduit together solely for air-leakage, and confirm, I do NOT have OCD in the slightest.
And putting rissan tape over aswell 😆
Look whose on national tv doing building commercials! Outstanding! 😮❤🎉
Loving the attention to detail, that you guys always put in. It's really starting to take shape now. Good shout on the electrical chases too. As you have two of them, I'd recommend running data and comms in one and electrical in the other, thereby keeping the two separate.
Samuel L Jackson - Jurassic Park: "Hold on to your butts"
Great job as always guys. 👍👍🏴🏴
VERY good idea to install those conduit runs now! Planning for future expected - and unexpected - upgrades is always a good idea. Best to also keep low voltage wiring separate from line current wiring.
Also should have dropped draw-cords in.
Outstanding job.
Excellent work gentlemen!
Designing as you go along... love doing that.
Can't wait to see how they are going to run utilities in wals and ceilings.
You guys are the new dynamic duo
certainly looks much brighter in there....
If you want exterior cameras pull cat6 Ethernet cable now to the corners of the building
Use slip expansion connections on the long conduit runs in the unconditioned spaced
Another good point. I would pull cable even if he's not thought it through yet. Have and not need rather than to need and not have. I would pull cables near every door location (garage and walk entry). If the distance is less than 100 meters, I would trench from house to shop
As low voltage guy, I agree with both of you. I'd run cat6 everywhere for cameras, a spot or two for wireless access points, security keypad at each man door, and to possible TV locations. I plan on having several TVs around my shop so I can view computer screens, movies, and watch my favorite RUclips channels. Also run 22/4 to all doors and windows for security. Might include wire for motion/occupancy detectors for security and lighting control. The door contacts for me would be more to let me know I forgot to close a door than for security
Love the camera angle on the opening scene
Greg’s PERFECT AIM at Kyle’s nether region had me laughing so hard I teared up!! 😂 😂😂😂😂
THANK YOU. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
🎉 Happy Birthday, Kyle! Thanks for another year of your outstanding videos they are greatly appreciated.
Nice work
Great ideas Greg comes up with !
Nice as always
Nothing beats a bit of tight Mylex in a vertically challenging environment 🎉🎉
Fantastic job….
Perfect job I'am impress congratulations
do like that product for air sealing, and perfection on the installation as always.
Spectacular, great building and video series 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great progress guys! 😁👍🏼
The two of you are awesome builders and your video man seems to cover every angle of what you are doing. With each step of completion you can see the finished job will be one heck of a job. Too all those involved in all that so far has gone into this shop I say Hats Off to each of you. Kyle thank you for allowing us to watch and learn each of your jobs that you and Greg and others do such awesome work too.
I make high end kitchens over here in Sweden and spending a few weeks with you building a post frame building would be absolutely amazing. The banter and fun you have is lovely to see.
What an absolutely epic building🤩 and Happy birthday Kyle! I believe it’s tomorrow🥳🥳🎉 hope you get spoilt and you manage to switch off for a bit! Many happy returns!!🤗🎁
Thanks so much!!
Love ya buddy! You’re an amazing guy and same to Gregg, you’re both salt of the earth guys I hope you know just how amazing you both truly are. 🙏🏻 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The editing is getting way better. The fast cuts are a nice change, not all the time, but it helps with the longer videos.
Big Kudos for you on earning the time to build your shop.
I know what it’s like to do a project for yourself with no billable hours.
Do it up brother
Good morning happy Thursday 👍
It's looking fantastic guys! Hopefully we will be installing my ceiling on Friday, you gave me some good ideas for my attic access. We have been running water and air lines the last week, it's nice because we don't have any leaks! I'm really looking forward to see your garage door!
Best of luck!
It's from Samuel Jackson in Jurassic Park
Came here to make this comment! Well done @jerrybrown7411.
Jake Bruton has a great video on attic access air sealing called "rethinking attic access" that shows a good way to do the hatch. Basically air seal the chute going up and latch a sheet of LP down that has some ridge foam secured on top of it.
Jake also recommends avoiding the issue completely by putting an access door through the gable outside the building envelope which I thought was pretty clever.
The old “Tip Touch….”😂😂
Tajima makes the best knife I've ever owned by far, their 1" wide Aluminist monster snap blade knife is K I L L E R. It's not cheap but it's SO worth the money. I like the quick open and close Aluminist over their dial lock version
The build looks great, guys. Hire me!
I'm Musa the King of roofing in Kenya good job bro
Kyle, did you know home Depot is using you in their ads? Just saw an ad for home Depot with you caulking siding.
This video felt like an episode of some sort because of the great editing. Mucho primo
Ta-Gee-Ma is the whip
Best caulk guns , chalk lines for sure.
I'm predicting a blower door score of 0.06ACH50... That thing is super tight, and the attention to detail is second to none. 10 times better than anything I've seen anywhere, hence the 10 times better than passive house score!
Cara vc fala de mais. Oloco fora isso trabalho perfeito.parabens
"Hold onto your buts" was Samuel L. Jackson in Jurassic Park. :)
"Hold on to your butts..." - Samuel L Jackson - Jurassic Park -- COMMONNNNNNN
"Hold on to your butts" Samuel L Jackson in Jurassic Park 1993
"Hold on to your butts" is what Samuel L Jackson (in Jurassic Park) tells the others in the computer lab when he attempts to restart the computer.
Good call running two conduits. Keep the low voltage signal wires away from 120 to avoid EMI.
I agree. good call.
Yep. However to prevent EMI they should be spaced ~3 ft apart when run parallel when using Cat 5.
@H0kieJoe only need a foot for that. I've been install Cat wire for almost 30 years
I recommend Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Machine SE with WiFi, Cameras, PTP connections etc. For internet and network connections to and from house etc.
Hey RHinners. I'll have to look at the Ubiquiti stuff. I use Amcrest and Reolink cameras. I have two reolinks powered by solar panels and they connect using 4G LTE in rural Arkansas and they've been running for almost nine months and I manage and access those cameras from Wisconsin. I love technology.
ROAD RUNNER (RR). That would be a good tattoo
She's a beaut Clark!
I would also put a junction in the attic just in case
The sound of that Majrex unrolling at 17:34 would have made the folks at Industrial Light and Magic drool!!
19:47 Kyle, you may want to check out WB Doors. They have access doors/panels for ceilings that are also fire rated (FR-RDW-870 or FR-850).
"hold onto your butts" is from Jurassic park when they shut down to reboot the computer that runs the whole park.
Kyle Kyle Kyle. Again. The "Tech Terms". Let's see. I'm just reviewing the first minute of your narrative here. (With a notepad.). Something about Myrex and "encapsulating our air control air" and then something about "connecting the Myrex with tape and running our Weather Logic across the Truss to the Gert with spray foam on he back. And this gets your air seal instead of using Rockwool. Well Well Well.... I'll tell ya Kyle. I'll go back to Bushradical and see how Dave Whipple puts together sawhorses. Wow. OK. The ticker here in You Tube says that I've seen the first 1:52 minutes. Yea Greg's laugh. Ok Ok Ok, My bad. It is a stunning effort here and never a dull moment. Now for the rest of the show! Thank you for sharing this. Steve from New Hampshire.
Haha
The amount of thought and preplanning for the sir control sheathing has really gone up since the first time you used it. I hope SIGA appreciates your efforts to write the book on it's greater usage! One day you will have to comment on how it is to get paid for having a pretty good time every day! Include the "other" voice in that- Say Hi! Gregg!
recommend a string or line through your electrical pipe for cable pulling, could have run it through vertical with a weight on the end to let gravity do it's thing via your scissor lift, or pre-pulled through on the floor prior to glueing together.
It's inch and a half; any decent electrician or telecoms guy can scrunch up a piece of paper and tie it to a string and just shove a vacuum cleaner on the other end.
I basically said the same thing in my comment. That's from experience.
That's what fish tapes are for. I’m a low voltage contractor and keep a 100' plastic fish in my van at all times. They also make 200' tapes for fishing too. Takes up way less room that a vacuum and a mouse kit and costs way less
15:05. The song you thinking about is The Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl 🎶🎵
Dude, you should also install a couple of inline LBs
Looking awesome, guys! Im hoping to see some clips of the overhead door being installed. I've been an overhead guy for many moons. Unfortunately, spinal damage took me out of the game.
The double run was wise; power ran in the same chase with audio signal could potentially generate a not so pleasant 60 hz. ground hum in your sound. Haters will say "not if it's shielded".
It's also against electric code to have both in the same conduit. Shielded cable is a pain to deal with, so separation is best. Most people screw up the grounding of the shield and cause other issues
How are you air sealing the garage doors?
Greg looks like Warren from "Something about Mary" "have you seen my Baseball" :)
Do you plan to install a BigAss Fan (tm)?
Like to see you include the mistakes... I have learned alot from you.. still aint doing it 100 right but it works for me lol
Kyle was close, -"Let's a go!"- Mario
Tip touching well I never lol
Just standing on those joists without any safety tie in made my bladder clinch.
I am sure he does, but hopefully Kyle appreciates Greg 🙏 there probably would be this channel without him but it would be much harder. Greg is the guy everyone hopes to hire.
By all means, go ahead and either blow, or vacuum, a string through both of your conduits now, so that you can then pull your heavier pull cable through when you know what you need .
Space inbetween the majrex and ceiling sheeting will cause the blown on insulation to cause weight pressure downwards on the tape seal that is holding the majrex up.
Here we GOOOooooo!!! 100% Mario! 15:15
No, I'm 100% sure he thinking of The Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl 💯
TATTOO IDEA: Double Beaded Butyl Tape
Working on my garage remodel this week. Bummed that i can't find comfort board in stock anywhere locally. Going to have to use the pink sheets instead :-(
I have enjoyed watching your work and the work ethic you and your team have.
Question about your plans you use, do you design them or do you have a company that draws them up?
Fill your conduits with duct seal to stop air flow. 👍
Add a Dumbweighter to the loft
"the angle is off.... " when the tip-touch comes back to haunt you!! It's almost as bad as crossing streams! don't ever cross streams!! 😀
I saw guys on a construction site next to my office use a sawzall to cut the rockwool.
Greg knows Leeroy Jenkins
"Hold on to your butts" Sam L Jackson- - Jurassic Park
💙💯
On this episode of B$ll Busters Kyle and Greg install some ceiling components, and Kyle orders a cup.
you did right by running them before you got it all done my friend didnt do it to his shop and i had to clime up and do it for him
👍
Guys, come on, Samuel L Jackson in Jurassic Park!
21:31
Yeah you better run more than one because you can't have high and low voltage lines sharing the same conduit or box.
Hey kyle the saying gold on to your butts it's from samuel L Jackson in jurrassic park
You're gonna have to seal the conduits, on each end, anyway so above, or below, the insulation won't make much difference. Just don't leave them open during season changes. Many years of experience in the electronic security/fire industry.
The banter is like if Beavis and Butthead grew up and decided to build a house.
Will you be installs any sort of air recovery unit?
