shapeheart bike mount review Авто/Мото
I picked something like this from my bike store this morning.
I've got a 2xl kit that can accomodate 6.6" phones with their protection covers like mine.
The kit I've just got is smaller, though, as suggested at 3:10.
My mount is really minimalist, but I only ride a bicycle here in Paris, not a motorcycle.
I paid €30 for it, a bit more than I expected, but anyway, I tried it. Their magnet thing seems steady enough. The phone is completely stuck to the handlebar and won't move anyhow, even on the aging tar full of bumps and holes of a poorly maintained street.
But then again, I only ride a city bicycle at very lower speed.
Their thing is pretty convenient in that it lets you handle the touch screen just about as if the phone was out of the cover, and it is supposed to be rainproof, that I couldn't check yet.
Bon, long speech for nothing much...
By the way, Mark and everyone, be careful. Always keep in mind you must watch the road exclusively. Not the entertaining content on the phone.
You are a brave man Mark, I would have tried it with an old phone first. Thanks for the review.
Haha thanks Andrew ...that Motorola is quite old with a cracked screen...so I'm due an upgrade soon ish :)
G'day Mark, l have bought 3sets for my Son's and myself and extra mounts as l l have a few bikes and don't want the fuss of taking the mount off to put on the next bike you want to ride, great product and review, cheers mate ride safe, Neil 🤠.
Thanks Neil glad you are using these with good results
Best wishes mark
I like that, cheers for the info. I use a quadlock, and although it's excellent, it's a lot more faff to attach than that.. Not sure I'd trust that off road though, but 100% do my quadlock.
Thanks for the comment John ....yes I've heard good things about the quadlocks best wishes mark
Vibration is also a problem these day with the cameras, that’s why you can buy special damping accessories for some brands, Apple recommends them
Good point. They say that the mount provides vibration dampening but they don't explain why. I'll sent them an email
Looks a quality product, I'd like to see a long term review to see if it's still holding up well in say 3-6 months👍👍
Yes definitely it's staying on my Hunter now ...will report back in several months
Best wishes mark
I have used mine for over a year (including a road trip through the Vosges, Alps and Black Forest) and never had an issue or scare with the mount.
Very nice and complete review, thanks. I have a question, does the plastic transparent cover make the screen harder to read in daylight than without (seems to be a lot of reflexions) ? Thanks !
Hi Michael ....no it's fine ... those reflections are picked up just by the camera cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Cool cool thanks a lot for the info 💚
I never take my smartphone out with me, Mark. The last thing I want to do is consult the internet when I can be doing things.
Fair point nik... thanks again ☺️
Cheers mark
Any access for a charging cord? You could plug in the phone to the USB by the Hunter left switchgear. 🤔😎
Hi yes a tiny opening on the back right by the charging port
Cheers mark
Power lead hole?
Water drain hole?
I’ve found any waterproof case I’ve used for my iPhone makes it overheat
Hi Christopher...yes it has a changing hole in the bottom of the case
Thanks mark
Try it on a mountain bike Mark on a bit of rough stuff
Will do Denise 😀
I'm surprised, looked a bit cheap, I wonder how the poncho cover will age with wear, and how the vibration affects the quality cameras... Not a bad looking product when in use though .... great fair review Mark 🙂 thank you (the hunters looking very shinny) ❤
Thanks Martine 😄 not long for your hunter 😀 x
@@markpulling12 picking it up after my holiday, really looking forward to it, I think it'll get me riding even more, an easy alternative to the car x
@@martinehulme8743 yes they are so easy to ride and convenient...I use mine for everything 😄 x
@@markpulling12 a great choice 😀
bought one, couldn't see the screen due to all the reflections...
Hi Mark. Can you charge it on the go, within the waterproof case?
Hi Dave yes it has a very discreet slit at the bottom on the reverse:)
@@markpulling12 Thanks Mark
Needs a vibration dampener.
If I needed to use the sat nav on my phone whilst riding, I'd link it to Bluetooth earphones with the phone in my pocket or hip bag.
Hi it says in the specs that it has vibration damping...rubber mounts on bar and phone magnet 🧲
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 Would you put your £1000 phone on it? That's the phone you're getting next Mark when you upgrade 🙂
@@rwalton159 haha never spend more than £150 on a phone lol 😆
