Honestly, Dex was one of the biggest reasons why I chose to go with the fold this year instead of the flip, but if that's on there, I might have to reconsider 🤔🤷♂️
DeX on the Flip 6 would be so nice. There is an influx of wearable XR displays now (Viture, Xreal, etc) where a phone becomes an awesome travel computing device. I have a pair of Vitures that work really well with a Samsung Tab S9+ w/ DeX and foldable BT keyboard/trackpad that is basically a dual screen laptop replacement for quick work in a cafe, pushing the same to my Flip 6 would make the whole thing more portable. Screaming into the aether though :)

Actually Flip 5 Laready be able to do same "Dex" mode trick as well through USb-c. it is unfortunately Samsung still decide not to enable real dex for the flip series.
Hopefully, Samsung has updated Dex ver. for flip6 soon. I think it can use front screen for a mouse pad. That is super cool feature. I will use it for AR glasses🎉😎

Agree with u regarding dex. Wireless dex on flip is still better than nothing. Wired of cos is better but i would rather go for that than nothing seriously especially with the current pricing
Hi can you did a video of every camera setting on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 like you did for the S24? Can you can control the front and rear audio separately before recording a video like on the S24?
Does the dual record create two separate video files or is it like the Galaxy S5 where it combines them (with a little view in the corner) Love the coverage of the Flip 6, much better than most other channels.
Is there any way to use this with the screen off? I'm also a tech content creator and I use the browser in my lives in DeX mode. I worry about leaving it on because of burn-in
If heat is a problem to run DEX, I would assume you just let the SOC slow down a bit. I guess power modes is more of a desktop feature for a SOC like snapdragon X. I got the Flip 6 and mouse and keyboard are often locked to my phone :') without option to set focus to the external display (at least I can't find any feature to do so)
I bought the phone AFTER watching the video. I don't need DEX because I am not a DEX user now. But in a pinch I would use it, for sure. Maybe even become a believer ;)

a lot of people holding off getting the flip because of DEX not being there. Now that flips are kind of mainstream, adding dex will probably just cut the competition just because of that functionality. The moto razr 2024, hmmmmm...
I have both, the Flip 6 is the one I use the most, its so pocketable, you forget its in your pocket, try doing that with the ultra. Yes the camera is not as good but its good enough for nearly every situation.
Moto Razr 40 (a mid range foldable) had Readyfor (Motorola's dex equivalent) and now both Razr phones in the 50 line have it. Plus the low end devices from Moto also have wireless Readyfor. How the hell did Samsung drop the ball so badly with the 6th iteration of the Flip series?
At this point, I don't think it's a hardware limitation but an intentional choice to separate the flip in the lineup. Fold and Ultra are geared for that ultimate productivity, do everything smartphone, whilst the Flip is very much geared at the fun, social, and lifestyle generation. It's definitely not hardware limited, more by design not including it to create clear distinction in the lineup
Yes Samsung push an update to 6.1.1 or OneUI 7.x for true Samsung Dex! I feel the soul of Samsung has been sold to Google and we'll loose a LOT of features starting with Samsung Messages. Next Samsung Dex. Next Samsung Notes, next Samsung Secure Folder. Before you know it Samsung Galaxy phones will sadly and horribly be just another Pixel. Their partnership is a Trojan Horse ... like they've not learned from Microsoft and Nokia, Google and HTC. And for those going to try to tell me only 25% of that 1.1Billion Dollar purchase back in 2018 wasn't fully ownership ... tell me what single HTC phone was released by HTC themselves since then?! NONE 'they don't focus on phones anymore' ... .that 25% was to save anti-trust DIS-Approval in the USA and in China/Taiwan.
I think early on in the Flip's life (Flip 1 and Flip 5G especially) I would agree with you, but Flip 5 and 6 have made great strides forward with durability and the cameras on the 6 are finally on par with S24

It's not quite the full version, and it is very buggy. If you need DeX, I would still go with the Fold

Yeah I hold the same opinion. It's experimental now so doesn't work great, looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

It records 2 separate videos! It's pretty amazing, all the audio is synced up and you have 2 different camera angles to work with.

Lack of DEX is a deal breaker. I'd like to see wireless DEX on my smartwatch even.
Dex isn't a huge issue for me. I have a samsung tablet and laptop. I use my tablet the most because I can text/call and use it for productivity.

In North America, people don't pay full price for Samsung phones. There are launch discounts, carrier subsidies, promotional trade-ins, etc.
