- A couple of times a year the Nürburgring TF drivers are being blessed with the so-called VLN-layout where a part of the GP-track is being added to the Nordschleife during public sessions. This was such a day and what way is better to enjoy it than with a brand new Ferrari 488 Pista?

I think the Autobahn trains people in Germany to look at the rear view mirror more than it is the case in other countries, and that comes in handy on the track as well
still plenty of bad drivers in germany... mostly on the weekends tho
Driving fast constantly makes you a much better driver. It also helps to be the type of person that can feel and understand the limits well.
Maybe more than in other countries, but compared to 15-20 years ago, german driving skills are more and more bad.
@@Tomelino Yes I agree, every year i've noticed a decline. I only travel through Germany twice a year so I immediately notice a difference. But I've noticed bad driving behaviour from mostly immigrants.
Honestly the amount of respect for each other on the German Autobahn amazes me everytime. Driving over 200km/h in Germany feels safer than driving 120km/h in Switzerland
Hahaha one of the few Pistas that actually sees a track in its life. Robert is an actual boss.
There are quite a few Pistas being tracked a lot.
I love that a russian and an american are driving around a german race track while having a fantastically interesting discussion. In an italian car.

Awesome that when Robert buys a car, he actually uses it. Unlike many people that would leave them garaged with a trickle charger on them.

I have never seen a car video were you can "feel" so much of the power of the car. The way it accelerates from higher speeds (4/5/6th gear) is just insane. It's almost like it has no drag at all. An Italian masterpiece. Makes my 4C feels slow.

We finally get to see the Pista on the track,that's just what I've been waiting for. Thanks a lot. I imagine the 488 Pista is a rather different experience from the 458 Speciale, less sound but much more torque. They are both great in their own respect, I wouldn't say one is better than the other. Looking forward to the inevitable comparison with the 720S once Robert has fully got to grips with the car after more laps and road use.
Mikhail Sven well the 720s still has a better power to weight than the pista, and lots of crazy aero.. so it's a pretty damn fair comparison if you ask me.
The right tyre choice make all the difference for lap times

It’s amazing what intimate knowledge of a track can do for speed. Obviously robert is in a 488 Pista which is ridiculously fast but if you notice he’s fast in every car he drives. He’s not over doing it or really even pushing the car that hard. They’re talking and having a conversation and still overtaking every car he sees on the horizon. Knowing the track and where the grip is and where to brake and how to be smooth makes a huge difference.
While coming out from the park everyone is looking at the car. Priceless. 🤩🤩

The Pista was so underrated coming in. People thought the 720S and GT2RS would stomp it. Ya they are eating those words now
How so? Where have you seen a Pista go up against a GT2 RS?
@@bradstokes3067 no head to heads have been shot with those 2. However at 3 of the 5 tracks they have been on the Pista was faster. Also it was faster at all 6 tracks against the 720S

I think the sound is very poor, it has 720 HP V8 and it sounds like normal car. Straightpipe would be awesome :D

That Gimbal is a really good perspective on the track banking and flow. I'd love to see that fixed mounted for a whole lap to really see how much the car moves.
I use to work at a Ferrari dealership in Dulles Virginia they are some of my favorite cars bar none.
the level of trust you must have in Robert's driving must be very high. Good on Robert for being such a capable driver

Thanks for the video. I’d love a video with Robert in maybe a summit type format with you two talking more in depth about the Pista and how it performs compared to the 458 Speciale like braking, turn in, speed that kind of stuff. They’re both top of the line track oriented cars from Ferrari and with the Pista being the evolution of that I think a lot of people would find it interesting. Maybe talk about parts of the track where they’re similar and parts of the track where the Pista blows the speciale out of the water.

I was planing a travel to the Nurburgring with my brother and even to pop in to say hello to you guys, unfortunately my dad had a hearth attack late last year and he needed bypass surgery fast and sadly our funds have all gone to that intervention. But I still have the dream to go there one day and have a taxi ride, maybe even drive on the Ring too. Nice car and good driving from Robert.

Die hard motorbike fan. That said, I still enjoy seeing these cars being driven as their manufacturer intended. Not enough people in the US who can actually afford these cars will actually drive them hard on a road with corners. Thx.

Please can we have Roberts thoughts on the Pista VS the 675 LT on the track.
Phil Turner and the 600LT perhaps? I know they’re in different segments but they’re both track orientated and the LT is probably underrated in terms of power.
Considering the lap times the 488 Pista has been putting out, the 675LT is not in the same league at all. A regular 488 GTB is actually quicker around track than the 675LT.
The Pista would trash the 675LT, 600LT and 720S. Look at the track times so far

I will be interested to hear how it stacks up vs the 720 Mclaren after a year of taxi laps, it certainly looks fast in Roberts hands but so did the 720. Great video Misha.

Misha I always like your videos but in this one you missed some "impressions" of the car and some comments of it. I was expecting just some comments and maybe a comparison between the pista and the 600LT, or maybe it's in another video and that's why they're missing.

In terms of performance, I don’t think the 600LT stands much of a chance. On Anglesey it loses to the 488 GTB, as well as the 675LT, 911 GT2 RS (991.2), 488 Pista and 720S.

Tyres. That's the single most interesting thing about the Nordschleife. People think that track eats tyres and brakes. Fact is that it is very kind to both. Now take your car to Spa for a weekend, and you are looking at new pads and tyres.
