Gears 1 through to 5 are extremely close together and punchy I remember Chirs Harris saying this for the normal 488 review. So I guess they brougt 1-5 even closer.
So after humiliating other supercars on Magni Cours (3 seconds faster than Huracan Performante and 720S, 4 sec than 911 GT2 RS, 5 sec than 911 GT3 RS, 6 sec than AMG GTR), it comes to Hockenheim to do the same. The funniest part is, it does so at the end of it's life cycle just when the new, even better model comes out. People underestimate Ferrari a lot. They are 1 generation ahead of everyone else.
BeyerT1 I dont see where its humiliating the other Cars at Hockenheim? The only Car you mentioned above which actually drove on the GP Course was a slightly modified gt3 rs which was only 0.1 sec slower. And the gt2 rs was also the ned of the 991 Generation.
It beat the gtr3 rs by only 0.1 seconds, doesnt really sound like humiliating to me. And if the lap times are so already so close on with the gt3rs, imagine what the gt2rs will do on a fast track like hockenheim.

@@WeirdBrick on this track the pista is almost 4 seconds faster than the gt2rs. Proportioned on spa track pista and senna are not that far. Senna is just a pointless car, bad looking on the streets and slow on tracks compared to a random gt3 car, wich is also 4 times cheaper
GazRwood the Pista is in a different league that the GT2 RS. A totally different league: this is an italian engineering masterpiece using real F1 technology, the GT2 is ‘just’ a high tuned car with pointless hype
I'm curious for SF90 (Assetto Fiorano) vs Senna, i think the Senna might edge it but quite close. And with the knowledge that the SF90 should be a much better "real world" car.

It may not have a lot of downforce, but the AWD with torque vectoring more than makes up for it, specially on medium and low speed corners. Much like the SF90 Formula 1 car, it is extremely aerodynamically efficient, meaning it has very little drag, and very little drag+ 1000hp= insane straight line performance. I firmly believe the SF90 with AF package will be faster than the Senna. Remember when the R35 GTR came out and destroyed the supercars of the time despite being relatively heavy and underpowered thanks to 4WD and technology? The SF90 will be the same, except it has over twice as much power
There's time being left on the table there; spinning up the wheels coming out of the corners, holding onto gears for 1/4 second whilst it's bouncing off the rev limiter, and that top gear is so much longer than it needs to be. Though I guess if it's a road car that last thing is something they can't change.

Kommt darauf an, auf welchen Reifen gefahren wurde. Die aktuelle Runde mit dem Pista sicherlich nicht mit dem Serienreifen. Der Pista ist unheimlich schnell. Allerdings schafft der GT 2 RS vollbetankt ( 90 Liter) und mit Beifahrer in Hockenheim locker auch eine 1.45er Zeit, sofern der R Reifen montiert ist. Also müsste man den 720 S auch auf Optionsreifen gegen die beiden antreten lassen, dann kann man wirklich vergleichen.

Examples are the GT-R Nismo and Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce. Neither could live up to the hype. The SRT Viper ACR lost to the Lamborghini on Nürburgring but smokes it everywhere else. Why is that? The Corvette C7 Z06, Huracán LP610-4 and 488 GTB lose on Nürburgring but win on other tracks. Official laps don’t mean anything because a lot of the time, the car done to use the lap is not the same as the production version, or the one that the customer is getting. A track car needs to be consistent, and the Ferrari 488 Pista is proving itself on many tracks. Also, Ferrari doesn’t care about or need the Nürburgring, and neither do McLaren. But you never said anything about them...

These tyres have a peak performance of 1-2 laps only. And a wet or cold performance of an bad winter-tyre.

Charles Ma that was my point. It’s most likely not as reliable as a GT2 RS, especially if you’re driving it on track a lot, and I don’t believe there’s any official Nürburgring lap time for the Pista.

You one of them kids that think every car must go on the Nürburgring to prove itself? It doesn’t mean anything if a car can’t prove itself elsewhere. Examples are the GT-R Nismo and Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce. Neither could live up to the hype. The SRT Viper ACR lost to the Lamborghini on Nürburgring but smokes it everywhere else. Why is that? The Corvette C7 Z06, Huracán LP610-4 and 488 GTB lose on Nürburgring but win on other tracks.
Official laps don’t mean anything because a lot of the time, the car done to use the lap is not the same as the production version, or the one that the customer is getting.
A track car needs to be consistent, and the Ferrari 488 Pista is proving itself on many tracks. Also, Ferrari doesn’t care about or need the Nürburgring, and neither do McLaren. But you never said anything about them...
@@projectr2451 You think you are very smart do you? Ok for starters McLaren does care about the ring, since they did attempts with the P1 GTR and are preparing one with the Senna. For seconds, the only track tests where Vipers and Corvettes win against any proper cars are Motortrend ones.And they even lose those ones now.Particularly the C7 corvette on Z06 and ZR1 trims is such a dissapointment that cant even win against the camaro ZL1. GTR Nismo is fast ANYWHERE in the world, and only loses in smallish tracks because of weight. Aventador SVJ is also fast ANYWHERE, even in small tracks. And the only records Ferrari is attempting are those where there are not 911 GT2 or Huracan Performantes involved. They know they would lose. Ok just to end this let me spell it to you: FERRARI IS A FRAUD, THEY LIVE OUT OF THEIR IMAGE. And to not get out of their little bubble they do everything they can to ban anyone including magazines from track testing any of their cars against any competent machines, when it gets done, its because the private owner brings his car at the risk of getting Banned by Ferrari. AND THEY USUALLY LOSE.

You’re really uninformed. The 488 Pista that beat a 720S by 2.15 secs on Magny-Cours was a customer car. The 720S was a Press car and also on Trofeo R tires.

McLaren themselves stated they don’t care about the Nürburgring. Both McLaren and Ferrari take cars there for testing, but not for lap records. That’s why the LaFerrari and P1 do not have official lap times there, neither do the P1 GTR and LaFerrari FXXK. There’s only rumoured laps. The last official lap time from Ferrari was with the 599XX, and tell me when the last one from McLaren was?
