- Wowie. After Art Fight and a bunch of animating I was pretty burnt out but still wanted to do something. The idea for this PMV came to mind and so I went with it! It was a nice break and I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting more with After Effects (mostly just keyframe/tweening and using the 3D camera).
This PMV follows Swiftpaw from Warriors! It doesn't fully cover everything, mostly just his life growing up to being an apprentice, annoyed that his warrior ceremony was delayed continuously, the dogs, and a little bit of the aftermath.
I have a small AU with Longtail, his mentor, but I felt like the tone with the song better matched Swiftpaw. On another note I like to think they're unofficial half brothers.
The absolutely amazing thumbnail was done by my good friend Abby!! She graciously offered to do it for me and it's spectacular!

Technically, if that was true, then the mantis shrimp would be one of the few animals to not be colorblind. We can only see... Three to six(?) colors, I believe? Mantis shrimp might be able to see up to 16 colors, although it’s not as simple as that.

I just realized that Longtail must have cared deeply for Swiftpaw, considering he was his mentor.., poor Longtail.
I’ve never seen anyone use a song sung in Japanese for Warriors! This fits very well.

This pmv really shows off how much Swiftpaw had grown ,, and the fact that he was almost Longtail’s size displays that Bluestar genuinely refused to make him a warrior - this is amazing ,, keep up the great work !!

Swiftpaw had so much potential as a character, and his death was just BRUTAL
i really like the detail of swiftpaw being the only one with pupils! it kind of represents how he was the only one who hadn't turned a blind eye to bluestar. fantastic work btw!
Love the fact that every cat except for swiftpaw is gray and pupil-less!! It really makes him stand out,, im in love 🥺

I feel sad that he was never made a warrior considering him being actually slightly older that Brakenfur and Cinderpelt.
Ive been waiting to write this comment for a few months now, but now I finally have the chance!
So, the lyrics can be interpreted into this MAP. (Just how I see it)
In other words I was trapped in curiosity - Swift curious about the world as a kit
Breaking through everything precious - Swift breaking through the preciousness of the clans; foreshadowing the heartbreak Longtail and his mom (forgot name) would suffer
A whole cake with no radiance - Swift being 'whole' or perfect, a good apprentice, looking up to Longtail but was a bit messy and lacked seeing the beautify in things
I was a dancing wooden puppet for you - Swift being just like Longtail, trying to prove to Bluestar he was just as good as a warrior
Once again in the closet - Bluestar rejects Swift (and Bright) as warriors, putting them back in the apprentice den (aka the closet)
Hudduling our small bodies inside - Showing they were too big for the role of an apprentice, that when the other cats thought they were small, they had to conserve room the the den
We'll sleep, We'll change, Its safer to think that way - Bright tells Swift if they sleep like they were told to do and continue with more training later, they will eventfully change into a warrior and its safer that way than what Swift wants to do to prove it
(Future Swift reflects on the past events)
Don't abandon me for I'm just a foolish child - Swift realizes how foolish he was, and wants someone to find him
Awaken your naïve eyes, Before my muddled identity - Swift wants anyone to open their eyes, notice their gone and come save them both before he is dead, body mangled in the grass for someone to find
All the toys were put away last night - Everyone (represents toys) were put away in their dens, sleeping. No one knows what is happening
I still want to stay as innocent as ever - Swift regrets his decision to snuff out the dogs, wants to stay innocent like he was as a kit and young apprentice but he knows he can't bail and leave Bright alone so he fights
Affections are just to 'high' to put away - Swift's emotions toward becoming a warrior were to strong to push down, thats why he tried to fight the dogs
Skinning away that precious memory - Swift remembers wanting to become just like Longtail; a strong, fierce warrior who protects the clan
But if you regret this 'low-life' - Swift telling Bright paw of his mistakes, telling her to enjoy what you have at the moment before she regrets it and throws it away just like he did
Shall a summer with a hopeless wish come - Swift finishing telling Bright that although Starclan (summer) is peace and happiness, your wish of becoming a warrior is hopeless
Yellow (x20) - Swift staying with Long as he cries over his lost app, and Swift is sorry for covering himself and his dreams in yellow (blood)

There are so many great details in this. I remember how the book described Swiftpaw being as tall as his mentor (Longtail) and still not made into a warrior. Swiftpaw doesn’t get as much respect as he deserves, one of the bravest warrior cat characters I can think of, even though he died as an apprentice.
I really like the audio used as well! I had to listen to the entire song cover after watching this (with the english lyrics ofc-) even though that part isn’t related to the PMV, I just wanted to say that as well.
Great work with the lineless art sytle, the pretty colors, & showing so much of Swiftpaw’s story that isn’t usually talked about in the warrior cats fandom. Sorry that this comment is so long & I’m very late watching this but still, great PMV!

This is beautiful! Such smooth tweening and your lineless style is so aesthetic and pleasing to look at. I particularly loved the circular movement in the middle with swiftpaw’s death stages, and then how cleverly you’ve drawn the thorns throughout. Longtail at the end killed me! Awesome job

There is so much detail and I absolutely love the art style and colors. Just so beautiful and pleasing to look at. I also like how it slowly shows his cross over to starclan. His death. I believe that swiftpaw deserved better.
