The netflix deal will be HUGE for WWE! A new audience could see it, and fall in love like the people before them, and us etc. More exposure to wrestling = better!
A tight two hour show with no commercials would be amazing.
Like a mini PPV with a healthy balance of promos and matches.
In the US, the meaningfulness is kind of diminished but internationally, this is like when WWF debuted Smackdown on over the air television on UPN.
This is beyond massive, it's going to get so many more eyes on the product.
Words cannot describe how much I loved that Cody/Roman promo I was hoping for a full length Assemble vid dissecting it like a surgeon LOL. I don't praise WWE a lot but there storytelling has hit another level and I like they are willing now to take chances and do things differently that is why I loved Cody and Roman it was a promo, but it was a scene from a movie just captivating. Great stuff Matt!
Interesting seeing the wrestling styles of aew and wwe along with cinematics becoming more regular.
More proof the first few seasons of Lucha Underground changed wrestling in similar way ECW did for attitude era.

honestly I feel like these past couple shows been slow due to them wanting to stretch all the best storylines until the 2025. I know the man himself is cooking for long term success.

Raw used to on sky one now known as sky showcase here in the uk and it was only on for an hour and now I’m looking forward to seeing it coming to Netflix next year and hoping it will be a 3 hour show

Cena vs Cody at Mania for the WWE title. Cena will lose the match and at the end of the match he’ll shake hands with Cody then shock the world & turn heel. That Raw after Mania would go crazy .

When they brought back SNME in the 2000s it was so awesome. Unexpected finishes, big matches, segments you thought were cool. They had led into Wrestlemania matches, it was a great show

@@AssembleWrestling hahaha my buddy and I always joke about that during PLE’s when they dive outside.
Worth keeping in mind, that Netflix's most popular subscription tier comes with ads included so I would imagine, that's the audience they will try to retain so I don't think there's any radical changes in the near future. Long term anything could happen since Netflix has way more stats that they can access compared to traditional broadcasting, and so they can adjust stuff on the fly.
Cody and roman reminded me of Prime Lucha Underground.
The fact the entire road to Wrestlemania will be on Netflix is super exciting

I think 2025 might be what takes me away from WWE completely. I already hate the direction it's been going the last few years. I think I'm going to be all about NWA going forward. The only company around that's similar to the pro wrestling we grew up loving.
How are you so sure 2025's product will make you stop watching WWE? You should at least give it a try first
Also I like the idea of women's mid card titles, i like the rumored designs that have been floating around BUT I feel it would be cooler to have women's Television and European titles so they have something different

That’s incredibly dumb. You want the product to imitate what it was 22-25 years ago. To drop every aspect that they have now which is helping them cater to the modern audience. Let go of the past, it’s freakin 2024. You guys have very unrealistic expectations/wishes and then get surprised or mad when they don’t happen. If you want old Raw, watch clips from those years
The weestling now is on top I dont care if it does go TV-14 or not I just wish for more title defense on the brands and not just PPV but most thing that say "for the modern audience" sucks because the modern audience typically make things boring @im4ni_b

I've been thinking that they need to change the cameras for the matches to a more cinematic style instead of the live ones we have. Obviously still have it live, but it still makes me wonder how good it could look.
Agree with your sentiments here. Great evaluation. Think WWE is going to be having some of its best content ever next year with these changes. NXT for me
Is still the stickler. They are doing much better storylines but the small bright venue where you can really see the crowd for me kind of spoils the atmosphere some of the talent and matches deserve. I hope they continue with bigger venues on the road and darker atmosphere. It really should be a proper 3rd brand whilst still being developmental.
Here in germany we still don't know yet if we will get WWE on netflix. Thats so frustrating. It will be interesting to see how they do the ads on Netflix. There are different versions of netflix. One with ads and one without ads. So we pay extra, but we don't get ads. But I think WWE will always be with ads even on netflix.

Yea this a great deal if wwe has successful with Netflix another streaming site might want a deal with aew as well l. Wrestling getting exposure to a new audience could do great for all of it.

Joe Tessitore is a breathe of fresh air for me imo. He sort of is a combination of Mauro Ranallo and Michael Cole with a sport-oriented commentating. I know his debut on Raw wasn't overwhelming, kinda mid I guess, but I know he will progress even more. I gotta say that he is a lot better than previous recent Raw commentators before Michael Cole.
But yeah JR, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are my GOATs in sports commentating of all time.
NXT has been a highlight for me every week so i hope it continues to cook when it moves to the CW.

Nah they’re gonna sell ads maybe an ad or 2 will be for a Netflix show but at the end of the day promoting their own stuff won’t make them that much money especially for the folks who are watching on the ad free tier

Nothing is confirmed yet with Lucha Bros, they will eventually debut but it’s going to be sometime later. Paul would be someone that would more possibly eliminate Cena in the Royal Rumble match leading them on a match for Elimination Chamber? Love to see NXT getting a second show in 2025 & I think the secondary titles will happen for Raw & Smackdown, since NXT already has Kelani Jordan being the North American champion

idk I think that NXT needs to feel like a small developmental show like it did in OG NXT thats the whole point of NXT but I would like it to go away from the weird 2.0 era and go back to the way it was before that
