I don’t know how old you are but this was how we felt when Jeff Hardy won the IC title from HHH in 2001. Seeing the younger brother of the hardy Boyz winning a singles championship was a good feeling
They can make Jey give Kofi a shot. This would add to the New Day storyline by increasing Woods' inferiority

He said being of the year he’ll stand on his own two feet and with a singles title. Long term story telling at its finest. The bloodline story was about him his journey has been crazy but fun all the way. I’m more invested in him staying as a single star
I like that the mid card title are being changed and given new talent opportunities to show how good they are.
this is a perfect example of why weekly television matters. not everyone is privy to or can afford to buy PLEs. if you’re someone who started watching WWE in 2023. You’ve watched Jey since last year on raw as main event jey, this is the payoff.

We’re getting these big matches now weekly rather than dragged to the PLEs and that helps enhance the PLEs as well.
I also remember titles changing hands on Raws and Smackdowns and that keeps people on their toes, like surely they won’t give us Jey winning his first title on Raw and Bam! There’s the shock.
I’m gutted for Bron tho as I love him, but I do think there’s far more of him still to come
I put this match up there with Mick Foley winning the title on RAW… such a rewarding moment

You can’t call this guy an “unstoppable badass” if he loses clean all the time (including his first title shot and then losing his title only 51 days into his reign)
Another typical Goldberg storyline for him would have been kind of predictable and cheesy… Bron working through his flaws, building his character and moveset is way more interesting

I loved the match being there in person. I might rewatch it later this week. I will say that I actually love both Jey and Bron. This is not a step back for Bron as I see big things in his future. He might be the face of the company. He’s got that “It” factor.

I'm not a fan of Jey much but I been begging for a short reign and shock win, especially on Raw or Smackdown and we got it. Thank you Triple H for adapting and learning not everyone needs a year reign. Too much talent. Sadly Cody ain't losing anytime soon which sucks. But this moment was taken from me as it was spoiled. I can't watch Raw till after work on Tuesday. My fault as i didn't stay off social media and move my social apps folder off home screen. Which i do for stuff like WrestleMania night 2 which i can't watch till Monday after work

@@iesnesiuam1688 Bruh, first of all, he didn’t say he had to have a “long title reign”. He stated a “longer reign”. The implication being that his reign was short, WHICH IT WAS. I believe Bron Breaker hasn’t even defended his title on a PPV once yet. That said, I absolutely believe Bron Breaker is getting that title back because it bumps him down a notch I just don’t see being reasonable considering the amount of build and stock WWE has given this boy.
For 10 years straight WWe was way too predictable I love this unless it makes sense no more long title runs it's boring 😴

Trading Jey for LA Knight would be a blockbuster trade and would really shake up the Rosters as well as the IC/US Championship divisions.
Not a bad idea because if Cena does his last tour on Smackdown he could have an IC run I don't think he ever won the IC title

It was a nice surprise honestly. Jey definitely needed this win, as he has been so over with the fans lately, and has been working his ass nonstop. As for Bron Breaker, I don’t think this moment buried him like most people believe. Keep in mind this man has been built as a believable monster ever since he arrived, and he still has a rather strong win record. Not everyone needs a super long reign to establish themselves. And besides he can always win it back.
WWE definitely has plans for Bron, so there’s really no need to fret over this
what if sami beats gunther and jey then challenges sami for world title and becomes a double champ the reunite with jimmy and win tag titles off the bloodline becoming triple champ heck make him beat cody and lak in a triple threat and become a penta champ

WWE needs to do this more, let titles change on raw & smackdown, put the belt on more guys, that's how we kept the excitement in the attitude era
You had no choice in the attitude era. Everybody from Stone Cold Steve Austin to the Brooklyn Brawler were white hot. Hell, even Vince got a pop for winning the WWF title.

The key to success is to mix the long term storytelling with the short-term, make the shows unpredictable
I understand the WWE doesn't have the star power like my generation did but you can still make it exciting with what they got
Bron breaker is a star regardless if he has the title or not. He's the only reason why I watched the match because 3 move uso does not do it for me.
2024 is the year of completing the story. First Cody then Jey now I need Trick Williams to get his title back and all will be great in the world

Where then Bron beats Jey at in Crown Jewel in a rematch.
Now jey is free of the championship and had a decent reign but now can get back involved in the bloodline, Chad Gable got his well deserved reign as champion, and now you have a made star in Bron Breakker who can carry that belt well on into Wrestlemania where he looses it to Dom by sneaky means and now u have a new monster babyface in Bron
Someone finally agree with me. Gable should’ve won at mania. & then jey should’ve won it months ago. The wwe booked themselves in a corner with this one. I feel like skipping out on gable & replacing the perfect guy to beat Gunther really bit them in the ass & now it’s not looking that good.

This is the stuff that devalues the title - you know, the very thing WWE supposedly tried to undo with Gunther for a year.
It's only worth it if Jey and Bron develop a rivalry over the title, IMO. If not, then a lot of hard work to make the IC belt - and Bron - mean something just went down the drain.
As long as he is over it will be fine,,he gets more attention than Gunther anyway,, look at Liv Morgan and the tittle,,,the title is just there she has personal feud with rhea that doesn't need the tittle,she is holding it hostage

title reigns, short or long. Bron didn't even get a chance to establish himself as champ - which he won because they built him up as a killer that destroyed Sami for the title.
Unless they let Bron and Jey war over the belt for a while, they basically undercut Bron so they could give Jey his "run" with the belt because his dad publicly complained.
That's the stuff that cheapens the belt. WWE was right not to push Jey - he's great in tag teams, but his solo matches are horrible. His WM40 match with Jimmy might be one of the worst WM matches of all time. WWE was right not to put him in the title picture - because he's not good after the bell rings.
But...Rikishi complained.
Not to mention, Jey needs a zillion gimmicks to get over and none of them original.

Third, Jey said it was meant to honor Bray not mock or steal from him. By that logic, people shouldn’t be able to use their torch lights at concerts. Also when Howdy returned Jey said he can have the fireflies.
My first comment was admittedly snarky (dbd (no more context necessary)) but seriously I see people complaining about WWE being too predictable and the title reigns being too long and boring. I feel like you’re just a Bron fan and that’s cool, but Bron was kinda a trash champion. He doesn’t carry that aura Gunther did and isn’t really a fighting champion like Sami was. Literally I forgot about the belt entirely because Bron didn’t do shit with it. I think Bron has the potential to be a great champion but he’s already a notable name in WWE and that’s not gonna go anywhere, Jey NEEDED this, Bron didn’t.
@@Deadman7600. I like Bron, however should he have the belt now? I dunno. My issue is when WWE goes from one champion to the next in the course of a couple of weeks. Understanding there needs to be an element of surprise and "anything can happen" to the show, too many short title reigns only hurt the champion losing the belt and, ultimately, the belt itself. And given how WWE built up Bron and the dominant manner in which he won the title, him losing now makes no sense - other than to appease Rikishi, Jey and his fans. It certainly doesn't seem like WWE has this "all planned out," like they like to portray.
Again, put Jey and Bron in a back and forth feud over the belt? That makes sense and could be fun to watch. If not, they just made Bron look like a chump.
Shock. Am I happy Jey won? No, too soon into Bron's run only being second title defence but I understand why they did this, WWE booked themselves into a dead end. Jey needed a title, he couldn't keep on loosing with his moniker. I don't buy into this "yeet" gimmick. I’m just looking forward to Bron being pissed off and going on a tear, he is going on a wrecking spree. I can’t see Jey will hold it for long. They had to have him go over. With Bron scheduled to be a big player come Netflix era, sure he will be getting it back at the very next opportunity.
Considering there may just be a rematch at bad blood or the raw after bad blood in Which im sure bron gonna win it back, jey not gonna keep this long. They basically booked themselves in a corner that they couldn’t get out of. Jey loses, he’s 0-7 in title matches while being the most over person on raw & bron losing definitely hurts him as well. Him taking 2 pin in 2 months doesn’t sit right with me considering he’s a guy that is supposed to be unstoppable force .

The thing is Bron doesn’t loose anything from not having the championship. He’s still a badass. Jey just had the right moveset to rise above Bron. Jey gets a title, Bron gets a chance to beat more people into the dirt or potentially make him turn babyface or tweener.
Jey and really the Usos as a whole came a long way. So wholesome to see guys like that and Kofi years ago get some shine after years of being just another mid carder.

The ONLY thing I hated about this match. Bron couldnt sell it. Jey carried the whole thing. I needed bron to show some type if pain lol like bro cmon sell it!

I say use the title to elevate wrestlers to the next level. Next up could be Dom soon, but then it could be guys like Bronson Reed, Ilja, Dragon Lee, Woods, Pete Dunne.
Now if only they cared as much about the tag divisions, like classic NXT did
My list of top contenders for the IC title- Bron Breakker (rematch), Chad Gable (he would be an amazing heel with American Made), and Dom (get Mami in the mix)

I wanna see Jimmy return at bad blood to help Roman and Cody because we know the Tongans will interfere. But Jimmy doesn’t return alone he brings someone with him. Crowd is thinking it’s Jey but it’s not. In comes a debuting Zilla Fatu. He’s like the antidote to the poison of Jacob Fatu. Now we got 4 vs 4 for SS.
I'm not sure how triple h seemed so great with NXT black and gold. Was he always this boring? Was it that old Vince McMahon was so bad it made what Paul was doing in NXT seem great? I don't know, but what I do know is that triple H's booking is not that great on the main roster.
IMO, it would be interesting if Jey and Bron had an on-going feud where the title changed hands between them a couple times. Say 3 more title matches and the final match has a stipulation that one can never challenge the other for the title until they lose it, and then Bron wins it back for the final time
That way, Jey and Bron can be multi-time Intercontinental champs and Jey can move on to challenging for the Heavyweight Championship
It was so awesome seeing Jey not just win but on a normal week and not on a PLE. The fact it was so sudden and it subverted expectations of a title never changing weekly again and only on PLEs i think this really gave stuff for people to talk about with Jey,
I think Bron could do with some tumbling down the card, especially if he ends up getting mixed up with Braun and Bronson. Maybe the three of them can create a faction, they sound like a good law firm already!

If all the big moments happened on the PLEs then random 6 man tag match will be the main event of raw every week...IC and US titles being defended on tv makes the tv important
I think what Triple H wants is the top guys in each title bracket to play hot potato with the title. IMO, it gives it attitude era vibes, which is what everybody wanted, and when I watched it on peacock, it seemed like there was a new champion every other week. And I kinda like that, it makes everyone look good, and the championship mean more.
I wanna see a triple between bron, bron and jey at a PLE. That would be really cool, especially with how different they all are
Jey uso’s gimmick being something that only appeals to like 15 year olds and then giving him a win over a bona fide future superstar is so so pathetic and indicative of a loss of maturity in wrestling not just in that the content is more geared towards children but that even adult content in wrestling is for man children
