*YES!!!* The King's Indian Defense where we control the center with our pieces from a distance! This is bound to be a classic educational speedrun episode!
@@jordanmon15 in all seriousness, I thoroughly enjoy all of Danya's videos. I merely thought a King's Indian upload, within a minute, was a golden opportunity to beat a dead horse and kid. I hope the prophet is flattered, rather than annoyed!
This game you played was super instructive in terms of avoiding a piece trade so that you can take advantage of white's overcrowded pieces situation and trap one of them with pawns. My current rating is about 1900 rapid (Lichess) and I've been stuck here for a while. Hopefully lessons like this are what I need to soon break 2000. 2023 Aug. update: I keep getting replies so perhaps I owe you all an update. I've been playing chess online somewhat regularly during the past two years, and I've been following all of Danya's speedrun videos almost religiously. I've since broken 2100 rapid (approaching 2150) on Lichess, to which I'm still thinking "how did that happen?". I have a feeling my ultimate rating will end up somewhere around 2300 rapid on Lichess. Anything more will likely require a level of dedication that I'm unwilling to commit (and will likely suck the fun out of it for me). After all, chess is just a hobby for me and doesn't earn me any money.
You got this, 2000 lichess is tough but with continuous study it's very possible. Took me like 4 months of active study and play to get from ~1940 to 2000
I liked your advice about having to learn to outplay people in boring positions. I’m about 1900 myself, and one of the things I find very tricky is to play with the level of patience the position requires. I only recently started watching your channel but these speedrun videos are incredibly helpful, particularly for the transition from opening to middlegame. Best free chess lessons I’ve seen! Bravo!
I've been waiting for this! I've been playing kings indian defence against 1. d4 with mixed success for close to a year now, definitely appreciate the clear and concise analysis of the opening!
Daniel, thank you so much for those games and the puzzles. This is without question the best educational chess content I came across on RUclips. Keep the good content coming and have a wonderful day!
Really appreciate your content Sensei Danya! I love King’s Indian Defense (KID). Since you have propagated us this opening, would be great to see more KID from you :)
Daniel plays very simple, logical, common sense moves here but he makes it look very easy, it's not as easy as he makes it look. That's down to the many 1000's of hours of training, studying and being a great chess professional. Very instructional videos these sppedruns by a very good chess player/teacher.
I played my first serious attempt at this opening last night, didnt go well. I trapped myself on the A-B-C files by not developing my white square Bishop on time and blundering my Rook early on. However, despite that I had a mate in 5 which I missed later on. Will definately try again and try to improve.
Definatly want to learn this defence and move my repertoire from 1 to 2 defences with black 😂 the overwhelming positional advantage leading a high rated player to blunder the queen shows the pressure they were under.... I cant really blame them i would be panicking in that position too!
Day 44 of saying you're the best Danya, thank you for making brilliant, multi-faceted, diverse and exciting content. I am such a huge fan. I've said this time and time again but you have been gifted with this astounding ability to teach concisely and principally. So much love, thank you
these videos are great I wait for them to come out, but I have peaked at 1200, and fluctuate between 1100 and 1000.. I know you have videos more catered towards my level, but I wonder if you have advice for people who feel they are stuck.... There is probably something extremely obvious and maybe the advice will be "stop hanging pieces"either way..Thank you for all the time you have put in already for such great content I will keep watching and try to learn.
Hope my comment doesn't get deleted but Jozarov has made an excellent series on the theory of the King's Indian Defense covering the main lines of all openings that white can play against it. A great many of Daniel's games are also featured on his channel particularly in his Queen's Gambit series.
But, but, but, .... Kasparov stopped playing the King's Indian Defense because it was close to being refuted by computers at the end of his career. Nowadays, it must be completely obsolete at top level because all white d4 players have some idea of how to play against it.
So are you playing at the top level…? Imma guess no. So it can probably work great for you - any non BS opening can that you know better than your opponents will get the job done. KID is def not BS
No, absolutely not. If you play long enough games it's a great way to practice for OTB chess. If you do plan on playing OTB you could get in the habit of writing the moves down on paper too. That can take some time to get used to actually.

Did you know that the Kings Indian Defense is a hyper modern opening?
All of daniel videos are!

@@willpattie581 Did you know hyper modern openings didn’t become popular until the 1920s?
@@shmurfy4971 Did you know players before that would laugh at the idea of allowing white to take a big pawn centre?

I'm 1950 rapid Lichess and have been pushing for 2000 for a bit. I believe in you, good luck! :)
I’m in the same situation - 1950 for 4 months
Wow 👏 dude 1900 is no joke
30+30 or 45+45 with a practice partner and regular puzzles will get you there in no time!
"...Aaand that is a Botez gambit." 🤣 (9:48)

As a player of both of these openings, this is incredibly instructive.
As not a player of both of these openings, this is incredibly offensive.

Did you stop playing the London yet
Daniel, thank you so much for those games and the puzzles. This is without question the best educational chess content I came across on RUclips. Keep the good content coming and have a wonderful day!
This is by far my favorite Chess series on RUclips. It is fantastic!
Daniel's always got the coolest prep, never seen that Nd7 variation he mentions in the analysis anywhere.
The man is a prophet and apparently knows mind control, half the time he wants his opponent to play a move they just do it.
It's a well known variation, there is even a lesson on RUclips by miodrag perunovic
I've seen it from James Canty III in a video of KID vs London, but it'srare and good against London players
im chessexplained also has an old video on this Nd7 line, it's a known but pretty cool idea
Nd7 is a well known alternative variation to nc6 which prevents the main line kid disregarding sharp theoretical stand point.
I am loving these daily uploads - please keep them coming!
Daniel Naroditsky and the King's Indian Defense - never clicked on something so fast in my life
:( RIP the tilted blindness of not moving the queen in the move after it's threatened.
Yeah that happens way too often for me.
Congrats on 200k 🎉
Thanks!
Me : thinking of a move
Daniel: some of you are probably thinking of that move but i dont love that
This is one of the very few series my attention span doesn't end amidst. Love every second
This mans coaching skills are Legendary!!!!!!!
6:10 this explanation makes me smile
Congrats on 200k subs! 👏🏻
Great summary on Kings Indian. I’m never very good against D4 opening so will utilise this.
I’ve been stuck 1800 for a long time. This series has given me the tools to develop as well as the pleasure of a deeper understanding of the game.
Yayyyy! I love watching your vids before I go to bed🤙
شرح رائع، مباراة جميلة، وتفريعات كثيرة فهمناها.
Congrats on 200k!! :)
Congratulations on 200k subscribers!!!
My right ear loved this video
LOL i was so scared my (new) headphones were fried, just turned on mono after seeing this comment
Congrats on 200k mr prophet! 😇
Congrats on 200k+ subs Keep up the good work

As a London/KID player I found this doubly instructive. :)

This is the lesson I've been looking for, thank you Daniel
Wow, very instructive video 👍
about bloody time! was getting sick of clicking home on RUclips and waiting for this
The puzzles are great too if youd continue those more
I wish I had your clarity of thought Danya! Congrats on 200k subs, should have happened long ago, your content is so good! 👍🏻💯

Oh hell yea more kings Indian knowledge
Man and every damn time its an opening i need to learn the oplonent blunders early
1:12 I'm always down for a prawn break
Just reached 1700 elo and your videos are a big help!!! Keep it up Danya 👍🏾
Thank you. Love your King's Indian games. H
Is "Oh My Lands" a wordplay on 'narod' meaning countrymen? I am just guessing wildly.
And that was the Botez Gambit.
Brutal.

Helpful preparing for my tournament 🙌❤️
Just as I start taking a shit I see a new video. Perfection.
Thank God bless you
1:10 I was so confused when he said “pawn breaks” then when he said “prawn breaks” I was like ohhh
Happy 200k!
Yas! the fabled KID!
200k subs yay! also, why is the last goodbye from a different day and a different shirt, lol
The back of my right ear is now a fantastic King’s Indian defence player
THX DANIEL
You are an amazing teacher
The hikaru openings againts d4 hahaha
coming after 5 months is crazy x100
Thankyou sir
the best!
what about knight g4 in that one position?
thanks danya!

Daniel Naroditsky: 4:20 don't panic

always good game with kings indian

I have been watching your channel for a while now and just noticed the N in Naroditsky is backwards in the intro.
Pretty sure it's a reference to his Russian heritage. It's a Cyrillic character (although it represents "i" or "y" sounds, not "n").
When the next episode? I'm eager to see the next ones because they're in my rating range
What is d5 after nc6?

Don't play blitz, play always the same system, practice tactics
KID!!!
did he say he asks the Bishop a question??
yes, at 2:46 now that he's played h6 he's asking essentially if the bishop wants to take the knight on f6 or drop back to h4
It's not even a Danya-ism, it's fairly generally used chess lingo
200k 🥳
how did he change his clothes in the end 🤯
I wonder what went through the heads of the 3 people (at the moment of posting this) who dislike this video.
WutFace >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I talked about their "b4"....

Hey hey 200k subs on YT

Dude was the live chat being toxic or something
The live chat is pretty bad, youtube is way more cooler with daniel.
yayyyy
Am I dumb if I just realized that beeing called a "KID player" in chat isn't an insult ?

Is it considered cheating if you use an actual chessboard when you’re playing online?
No, absolutely not. If you play long enough games it's a great way to practice for OTB chess. If you do plan on playing OTB you could get in the habit of writing the moves down on paper too. That can take some time to get used to actually.
Daniel, would you like to be the prophet of my new religion? It’s called schacic; “chess” in polish
i'd like to keep it at 69 comments but yeah.. not today :)
Worst 1800 ever. Blundering a piece and a queen like a noob.
