I just wanted to say that I showed my mom some work I did today and she said it looked better than the work she paid people for. It's all thanks to you guys and your advice. Feathering the edge really paid off.

If you can only afford one get the 3 or 3.5 in angle head. I personally like the 3.5. You can also get a 4 inch and those are great for skimming drop angles. Pretty pricy though
When using FIBA fuse tape- A tip I picked up was use a plastic flusher 1st then the glazer...also spray silicone prior to use helps with clean up
The house I grew up in has old fashioned drywall. The slats and mud type. The edges along the ceiling are curved in and there is a metal slot where you can insert hangers for photographs. People didn’t just put nails everywhere to hang pictures back then. You had paintings or photographs in frames hung with velvet ropes from hooks at the top of the walls. Have you ever seen these?
Yes, the old lath and plaster with coved ceilings. Not a lot of homes had the picture rail but the nicer ones did.

That's a direct flusher. Try it right on the tube to fill and feather in one go!
I don’t think it will work right. Both actions require a different type of pushing. The tube is like a push/pull whereas the glazer is just push.

The flusher is amazing compared to doing each side each individually
You can also use a rabbit tail angle roller to load your mud. Then skim it with the angle head. They are just 10 15$. The smaller one with a little practice it can load the perfect amount of mud. And it can go really fast.
Them angel heads will make you money. Pays for themselves after awhile.
Feather the edges with a 5” or a 6” knife. Watch and listen for hanging screws they will chip the carbide blades if you’re not careful.
I’ve heard. I hung this job myself so no problem but that would suck to chip a blade

I watched a heap of you videos to prepare for my diy ceiling repair. 2 minutes into the prefill and i gave up. My 20 minute mud turned too hard. I called a plasterer. I could probably do screw holes but will never try to mud again. Hangin up my trowels.
Newbies like us should stick with 45 or higher although i myself havent had a problem with 20 min as i only mix a little at a time.

Try taking the wheels off of it. It will run much smoother and hold more mud. Also, in the stand up angles, when you are glazing, always start from the bottom and go up. The glazer will be more forgiving that way. Thank you so much for your videos. I always enjoy them.
Thank you!!! Interesting. I thought the wheels would help. I will try going up next time. Also, I think I would like to tape with a 3” and coat with a 3.5. More forgiving with the amount of mud I put on with the tube but either way the corners still turned out great even with my limited experience on the glazers.
@@vancouvercarpenter You definitely switch to 3” and 3 1/2”. If those have wheels on them, take them off. Let me know how that works for you because it does amazing job for me.
Hey Ben, I'm wondering why you don't apply the mud with the corner finisher on the compound tube? I just purchased the set up and I'm excited to try it this week..just wondering-is there an advantage to applying with the corner applicator then switching to the finisher vs applying through the finisher. TIA!
You can’t get an even enough flow and the right pressure to finish. I mean give it a try but keep your expectations looooow.

If you do any kind of mudding and taping even every odd month they are worth investing. The work is so much faster and neater. Treat yourself with these tools. 0 regrets

You need a bazooka and a tiki torch or hockey stick. Not sure what they would be called in Canada, I'm from the center of the US, but it would cut steps out of your process.
😢😊😊Your to far advanced for me. In my house I’m repairing terrible work on 1/4 drywall over thin paneling. Everything is moving 12 foot room one sheet standing up 2 on there sides. Now butt and end seems. 😂😊😊

what's your opinion on DeWalt Trowels ? They seem to be re-branded level 5 but I don't really know much about either brand.
I can’t bring myself to try them. They are supposed to be power tools. I never invited them to the drywall finishing party.

By hand bro just do one side at the time with a 4" knife

Flushers are about 1/3 the cost. Or you can get the canam Nycor flushers for even cheaper. They won’t last long but they will get the job done.
Put the angle head on the mud tube.
thats how i do it. 2.5 anglehead to glaze and 3.5 to finish with deWalt mudshot. both angleheads are columbia

The corner tool I use was like $6 on Temu of course it doesn't produce this finish
If I were doing corners every day, maybe. In my case, just finishing up my one house, that tool is money down the drain.
Is it still money down the drain if it saves you 5-6 hours?
