    Dziękuję Ci Iga za te emocje. Twoje łzy, twoją sportową złość, twoją radość, desperację, wolę walki i walkę do końca. Dalej kibicuję i dalej trzymam kciuki. A teraz, tak jak Ty, po tych wszystkich emocjach potrzebuję konkretnej regeneracji.

    I think it's quite refreshing and mature for someone her age to come to the press conference with a great attitude even after the loss. I also love the fact that she gave credit where credit is due instead of she didn't beat me, I beat myself, blah blah blah. In my opinion after watching tennis for many years, smart players use these opportunities to learn from the loss and realize that tennis is more than just a game, but how to apply it after they leave the game.

    Iga did a fantastic job in this tournament for her age. She had a rough draw from the start and a 3 hour match in the hot sun with a hard hitting player like Kaia Kanepi and got thru it. That was a great accomplishment within itself. Than she had to play again the very next night. And yes it did affect her play in the semis. I am calling it how it is.

    Iga ranked #4 👏
    Nothing bad happened…
    Iga, just learn step by step and keep practicing your SERVE !!! You said that, you know that…. It’s a key factor to the success.

    • @jukkao.parviainen8669
      @jukkao.parviainen8669 2 года назад

      Under the new coaching staff, they decided to lower the speed of the first serve to 175 km/h from 190, to get more first serves in. Speed matters on the hard court, but still Iga’s second serve on 155 is the same as Kasatkina’s first serve. So, they started her strength training only last summer, so if the precision stays, the speed can be taken up step by step. There are lot of areas to improve, like she said in some previous interview to improve/learn the slice, because the low slice is how Ash usually changes the rhythm during the ball. From fast to slower.

    • @michawu4401
      @michawu4401 2 года назад

      @@jukkao.parviainen8669 - IMO, slice is impossible to learn for sb LIKE Iga. She’s inborn attacker and slice is rather a defensive shot unlike Ash Barty (or Steffi Graff in 80s/90s).
      Today Ash Barty makes pressure using slice, which is unbelievably successful.
      Iga needs to keep perfecting her 2nd serve ONLY…. Slice isn’t for her. She has everything to be a constant winner except serve.

    • @jukkao.parviainen8669
      @jukkao.parviainen8669 2 года назад

      @@michawu4401 I have played a quite a lot of tennis, and if slice is low and long enough, not saying it’s slow, it’s surely attacking. I have had so much frustration against such players. To take it up and have it long enough, is difficult. So in that you are right that you have to keep your serve.

    She is turning into a beast! And like all beasts, there are some tough losses to learn from.. I was low-key hoping for an Ash-Iga, or Ash-Halep, or Ash-Muguruza final, but I'm happy with Ash-Collins. Iga will be there fighting for these biggest titles again in no time, FOR SURE! I love how she always says 'for sure', it's so sweet :) The fact she will stay and watch the final and learn from the 2 opponents and the words she used to appreciate Collins' high level today just shows how much respect she has for the game! It's beautiful to see.. I am hoping we get Ash-Iga-Naomi trivalry soon too :)

    • @jukkao.parviainen8669
      @jukkao.parviainen8669 2 года назад +2

      Well, she didn’t reveal that she wants to improve her slice like Ash do, and that her specific grip/angle to keep the racket is not the best for fast baseline defending on the hard court. Collins is no.1 in U.S. (and in live WTA ranking no.10) and there is no lack of players, and they are hard court specialists . So it is surely not a shame to loose the match to the opponent like her. The final will be extremely interesting.

    • @anaar9876
      @anaar9876 2 года назад +1

      @@jukkao.parviainen8669 yeah, I can see you are probably her fan wanting her to improve and become invincible :D I wouldn't mind that too.. but I honestly just appreciate her the way she is, with all her flaws and strengths.. her FH is exquisite, I don't think she can change anything there, it's her strongest weapon.. she could improve on her slice, but already in this tournament she's become so much more aggressive with her BH too (as in in the past, it used to have too much spin without much pace and would just sit up for her opponents to control the court, but now it's much flatter and pacier)! But yeah, no shame in losing to Collins in semis, especially with the way she was playin.. Still, there are lots of positives for her to take from these tours, she lost only 2 matches this season, both to Aussie open finalists, and beat many great aggressive opponents (Azarenka in Adelaide, Kanepi in AO - which was amazing to witness)!

    • @jukkao.parviainen8669
      @jukkao.parviainen8669 2 года назад +1

      @@anaar9876 I think she has the age advantage, there is of course Cori as 17 yrs, but you never know when the player is on her/his peak. I played with ATP 300 ranked player and he peaked as 16 yrs old beating Jim Courier in Chicago Indoor final. Nevertheless, if I won three games in a set, I knew that he was playing 60% of his potential. Iga has a new coach and staff from the last summer and they started to work on the strength. Secondly she has now a sport psychologist with her in tournaments. They decided to lower her first serve speed from 190 km/h to 175 to get more first serves in and when gaining accuracy and strength training they will slowly take the speed up. The second serve is 155, which is the same as Kasatkina’s first serve. She is enough tall, 175 cm, and certainly she is getting better on the hard courts, but it’s always difficult with the players who have “born” on the hard courts. It’s a pity for European players that only one GS is on the clay, so like in this tournament, who dropped…Kontaveit, Sakkari, Krejcikova…I think 4th in WTA live ranking is good place to start the season. Tennis or table tennis, they are like chess, the match intelligence is the key and for me, she has that. Like she said if she would not have things to improve, she would stop playing.

    In the first serves, she hit the net twice, probably because she jumped too low. Later it was obvious that her legs were heavy so she didn't even start for some balls and hit the net again. Ball control is also results from the lack of strength and therefore its bad feeling. Sourdoughs strongly. Last game cost her too much. In normal disposition she would have won.

    After the last two hard matches (5.3 hours on the court) it was difficult to expect Iga's victory. Iga's lack of full freshness (which was evident) and a good 1st serve, with a weak 2nd, he immediately put her in difficult positions - losers in advance. [In the first match between Iga and Collins, the opponent was after a tough match, while Iga was fresh. The result of the match 6/2 3/0 for Iga and retired Collins]. Iga still has some shortcomings and has to work on. Reaching the AO semi-finals is actually a good result.

    Collins was playing like the Bishop played golf in Caddyshack. She may not play that way again any time soon, but if she does, she might win the AO title.

    Defininitely not the result you wanted today and not your best result at all. But, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, YOU COULD BE EXTREMELY PROUD WITH THE AO2022! Keep patient, get some days to rest and there will be more GS titles for you in the future 🍀🙏❤️😻🤞🤗

    Jestem trochę rozczarowany ale gratuluję dojścia do półfinału! Pani Igo, musi Pani poprawić SERVIS!!!
    Bez tego elementu nie da sobie Pani rady w czołówce. Proszę się zastanowić nad wynajęciem specjalisty od SERVISU. Są tacy w Stanach. Ma Pani pieniądze. Warto zainwestować kilka dolarów i to zrobić. Pozdrawiam serdecznie i życzę sukcesów!🤞💪🤞

    If Iga had a day for recovery, which is a standard for grand slams, her reaction time would be better and the match would probably look slightly different. she looked tired. What the AO organisers did to Iga in particular, is very unfair.

    Iga plays better outdoor during the morning sessions.
    Today the roof was closed, it felt like an indoor arena.
    Iga doesn't play at her best in the evening sessions with artificial lights and main arena full of people.
