I thought 10 dropshots would've done the trick, but she obviously didn't need that many. If Iga can stay healthy, she'll be THE future of women's tennis. I think she can beat anyone on ANY surface with this level of play. Coco Gauff also looks very promising. Pliskova's only asset is her serve, and once that goes, then it's all over. Although Switek played great couldn’t help but say that not winning a single game points to another Pliskova big match choke job. Maybe what separates the grand slam winners from the rest is that they raise their level of play in big matches instead of lowering it like Pliskova.
I thought 10 dropshots would've done the trick, but she obviously didn't need that many. If Iga can stay healthy, she'll be THE future of women's tennis. I think she can beat anyone on ANY surface with this level of play. Coco Gauff also looks very promising. Pliskova's only asset is her serve, and once that goes, then it's all over. She was never a good mover on the court, and she seems to get even slower with age. Good to see a young, smart Amritraj still around tennis.

TC: Iga, brak mi słów na ten dzisiejszy występ, byłaś spektakularna. W twojej głowie, przypuszczam, to jest najlepszy tenis jaki możesz zagrać?
Iga: Tak, to prawda. Na pewno nie jest łatwo wygrać 6:0 w pierwszym secie, możesz mieć wątpliwości przed 2 setem, bo wiesz, że rywalka może zagrać lepiej. Zaczęłam myśleć, że zaczynam ten mecz od początku, mimo, że było 6:0 i to był dobry pomysł, bo byłam w pełni skupiona. Miałam dobre nastawienie i utrzymałam to przez cały mecz.
TC: Karolina jest oczywiście świetną mistrzynią, ale wygrała 4 punty w 1 secie i 13 w całym meczu. Utrzymujesz swoją mowę ciała w sposób pozytywny i Twoja w wiara w siebie musiała być wysoka, jaka ona jest teraz?
Iga: Jest naprawdę wysoka, ale musimy pamiętać, że jesteśmy ludźmi, więc nie zawsze będzie na takim samym poziomie. Wiesz, miałam ciężkie chwille w 1, 2 rundzie czy nawet w ćwierćfinale. Nie było mi łatwo na początku turnieju. Klucz to się zrelaksować i czasem nawet być obojętnym. Na początku nie czułam się dobrze, ale z meczu na mecz zaczęło być lepiej, ale wciąż nie wiedziałam czy to wystarczające by wygrać ćwierćfinał z Eliną czy turniej. Było ciężko, ale cieszę się, że mam wokół siebie wsparcie, oni dali mi dobrą energię. Jestem dumna z mojego teamu i z siebie, że poszliśmy naprzód, mimo problemów.
TC: Mimo, że było ciężko na początku, koniec był bardzo silny. Jak patrzę na ten piękny historyczny puchar, są tu znakomite nazwiska. Jakie to uczucie być tam wśród nich?
Iga: Uczucie jest dziwne zaraz po finale, właściwie nie wiem co powiedzieć. Tak samo jak po French Open, jest ulga, że mogłam grać dobrze do końca. Myślę, że po paru dniach dotrze do mnie, że wygrałam ten turniej, więc wtedy Ci powiem jak było (śmiech).
TC: Pięknie, pięknie. Wszyscy oczywiście mówią już o French Open, będziesz tam bronić tytułu. Czy po takim meczu zaczynasz patrzeć na siebie jak na faworytkę czy w ogóle nie myślisz w taki sposób?
Iga: Na pewno ludzie będą myśleć w ten sposób, dobrze mieć taką wiedzę, ale tu chodzi o rutynę i wykonywanie pracy w ten sam sposób. Każdy turniej to inna historia. Tenis jest dość szalony, nie wiesz co się stanie. Ja mam taką relację miłość-nienawiść ze swoją własną grą czasami. Jednego dnia czujesz, że robisz wszystko perfekcyjnie, a później się pogarsza i czasem nie wiesz dlaczego. Wiem, że będzie ciężko, bo jadę tam jako obrończyni tytułu. Będę chciała się cieszyć z bycia w Paryżu, kocham to miejsce i atmosferę na korcie. Na pewno będzie to dla mnie dobry tydzień niezależnie od rezultatu.
TC: To na pewno będzie ekscytujący czas. Co będziesz robić? Są jeszcze 2 tygodnie, czy będzie jakaś mała celebracja czy od razu zaczynasz pracować ?
Iga: Będziemy świętować tutaj, będziemy mieć wolne 1-2 dni, zjem trochę tiramisu. Wiem, że jak wrócę do domu będzie trochę szaleństwa, więc cieszę się tym czasem tutaj. Wrócę do pracy, bo to jest to czym jest sport.
TC: Fantastycznie. Momenty jak ten chce się dzielić z osobami, które są dla Ciebie specjalne. Czy mogę spytac kim jest pierwsza osoba do której zadzwoniłaś lub wysłałaś wiadomość?
Iga: Wiesz, właściwie mój tata był w dosyć emocjonalnym stanie, więc wysłał mi smsa kilka czy 10 minut zanim tu przyszłam. On był pierwszy. Wiem, że ogląda i na pewno przeżywał wiele emocji po moim zwycięstwie. Mój team, oni są ze mną przez wiele dziwnych chwil, zawszą sa i zawsze mnie wspierają. Oni są powodem tych pucharów.
TC: Iga, nie mam wystarczających na słów na temat Twojego tenisa, mam nadzieję, że będziez mieć całkowicie zasłużone świętowanie, trochę ekstra tiramisu i zobaczymi się na French Open.
Iga: Właściwie powinniśmy już kończyć, bo zaraz zacznie się męski finał.
TC: Masz swój typ, stronę, którą uważasz, że wygra dzisiaj?
Iga: Ja zawsze byłam fanką Rafy.
TC: Ona ma tu przewagę, oni będą grali ze sobą po raz 57-my, więc będzie świetny mecz. Złap coś do zjedzenia i zajmij dobre miejsce.
