    I don't know how to play guitar but I can surely make a good tune with one of those guitars they are Tuned to perfection

    Can you share with us your equipment, and effects: I see the Ibanez John Scofield (what year?). I hear some delay and reverb...anything else. And what equipment for amplification, etc? Great tone and great chops. Thanks!!!

    How to get that tone? Its just reverb and some kind of boost?

      there’s some slight analog delay, and a compressor with very high attack, a good amount of reverb and humbuckers are essential

    if you raise the tail peice itll make that ibanez feel a lot spongier and easier to press down and bend the strings

      I wouldn't try and offer him any advice on his setup! He seems to be managing quite well with the guitar setup as it is!

      With just an accompanying nylon string it fills up the sound a little. I like it..

      I kind of agree, it isn't necessary in my opinion. I think people add too much delay when they aren't fully confident in their playing - which is silly in this situation since he such a great player. But at the end of the day, it is a matter of choice. Not my thing though. A tiny bit of slap back sounds good, but when it competes with the played notes, it takes away from the playing IMO

      I think he is trying to replicate the guitar sound of old Cumbia music. or maybe he wanted to sound like Khruangbin band.

      I wouldn't say the slapback competes with the played notes at all - it's pretty obvious what's being picked. Shawn Lane had a very similar tone approach, it's just a fusion thing.

    Awesome playing but,... the mix isn't very good. Both guitars are panned too close together. And the acoustic is too bright and a tad too loud.

      @@sixstring4 So completely standard effects for a typical fusion tone then? How is that 'heavy' processing when the vast majority of live electric guitarists would have those pedals in their board?
      FFS you make it sound like he's using a whammy pedal, octavers, or a guitar synth.

      @@biscobisco1882 vast majority? It depends who you listen to. Where I come from when you play a jazz classics like this you don't drench your playing in effects, but to each his own...if you're impressed with fast riffing "fusion" playing good for you...not my cup of tea..I just hope he makes it out of Sydney and plays with notable artists.
