Check out Carly Simon song your so vain . nova scocia to see the total eclipse of the sun
Why that song @@caseyhansen4567
Sitting here in Medina, N.Y. waiting to see the eclipse and listening to Moon Shadow with my Grandbabies Talia and Vivi life goes on...
This musician and his songs like this remind me of my momma who is sick right now. I'm going through a hard time. Please send positive vibes to my mom if u see this. 💔
Hugs for you and prayers for your mom.
Positive vibes man 😊🥲
🙏❤️❤️❤️
Sending love your way to you and your mother and a wish for good health and peace ❤🤗
How is your Mama now?
I came here on eclipse day! 😊
Wow I miss the music, when music was special and spiritual and artistic, you were one of the greats Cat ❤️
Now we have beiber and Taylor Swift.
There are still wonderful and spiritual artists, they're just not mainstream.
Was that man Beautiful or What!?
He still is great and still singing. See his tiny desk video
Well nowadays you can't able to hear any more groups or these types of Folks musician like him at all. So that nowadays have to rely on listening to theses classic tunes.
I was blessed to see Cat at the Forum on his Majik tour, 1976; I believe. I am now 70 years old and my memory fades, so I don’t quite remember the playlist. I do, however, remember what a great concert it was. Thank you Cat for all the great music. ❤️
Still one of my favorites. I am sending it to my granddaughter who is learning guitar I hope she will learn this song for me.
Joining the 2024 eclipse Playlist party☀️ 🌑🌙
Yuppers may 30th 2024❤
I miss the musicians who really could play their music with pure passion!
There're still plenty around, the problem is finding them among all the others.
One of the absolute best singers of our generation!!
I totally agree- his work,
His voice, what a blessing.
THE MUST, THE FIRST the moste fabulous musician
Any generation
A musician, poet and philosopher. A gift to us all.
Great
1971 - Freshman in college, coming of age, first real love, first sense of social awareness…and this music. It runs deep.
Still sounds like yesterday
And yet, so far in the past❤🤗
I'm partially disabled after serving in the Army for 22 years and sometimes when I am being a bit of a moaner I sing this to myself and realize - all is okay, enjoy the moment and I don't have to 'beg'. Let's try and be grateful for what we have and be as positive as this words in this song. All the very best to you all.
I sang this song to comfort myself while being held captive against my will.
Please elaborate?
That is the most heartbreaking sentence I have ever read in my life 💔😥
Well it sounds like you lived to tell the tale. I hope things are better for you now. Music is a great comforter.
Looking at the moon was never the same after I heard this beautiful song in 1971, somehow it seemed to glow brighter . 💖🌙
Woah!!!
He looks beautifuil
That's gorgeous
As a hippie kid, this was one of my absolute favorite songs. It still is. There's something about the imagery of total freedom + dancing under the moon which appeals to my wild self.
You’re not alone.

My brother, that song was the song of my wife and myself, do he send it again gives me such joy and beautiful memories I can only praise God❤
A very "special" time of music. This song rings back a very specific time of my youth. I was 25. It was the perfect expression for what I was feeling. Still young, still inexperienced, still naive, still looking for love. ✌️
Thumbs up if you ever listened to or sang this song during an eclipse.
lol!!! Listening to it right now
YES!!! Right here, right now!
What else? Soundgarten "Black Hole Sun", Black Sabbath "Hole in the Sky", ...?

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon
Too sad as I took my lil' puppy outside for an unforgettable walk.
This reminds me of my mom, who passed unexpectedly in March. When I was growing up, this is a song she played a lot, the entirety of Tea for the Tillerman, really. I miss her. ❤
This makes me so sad… to realize that I am so old and it just seems like yesterday 😂
I think this song is on Teaser and the Firecat
Both albums are wonderful though
Wishing you happy memories of your mom
God bless you Mr Stevens. You did the right thing by returning to perform. This is your da'waa...This is your calling. Peace.
The moon is so beautiful this morning. Happy Morning. I love you!!!
I was going through tough time after though time, and my older friend at work told me to cry to feel better and then showed me this song. Changed my life
You got a good friend
I sang this song at a school recital in grade school when I was about 10 I'm 60 now!
I'M A LITTLE OLDER BUT YOU'VE ALWAYS HAD IMPECCABLE TASTE IN MUSIC I SEE. 71 WAS WHEN THE MOODY BLUES AND CAT STEVENS BECAME MY FAVORITES! TUBULAR BELLS OVER THE FAB 4 ANY DAY.
I'll be playing this during the 94.5 % of totality that I'll be getting in Massachusetts during the solar eclipse❤😊
🌝🌒🌚🌘🌝
Me too ❤
I kinda wondered why this lovely, whimsical song lingered in my mind for decades. Sadly, it foreshadowed my life. I was quite affected by an incurable neuromuscular disease by my 40's, and had to go on SSDI about 5 years later, leaving my beloved paralegal career. I now change the lyrics to "don't GET to work no more." Working is a *huge* privilege!
Now, at 64, I'm homebound, practically bedridden. I am not surrendered to this horrendous physical state. I refuse to give up! My medical intervention has been severely lacking except for one loyal neurologist and my dear primary care provider NP. Their hands are tied by insurance though in what they can do for me. 😔 I try to remember not to moan or cry about my situation -- that only makes me feel worse. I must stay positive so as to not lose the little strength I have left. I do believe the moonshadow, the light, God Himself, follows me, keeps me, and even guides me when I'm still enough to listen to Him. Then... I hopefully, heed His instruction. ❤
He opened my eyes in early 70's to a whole new world, bless you Yusif, my love always.
My mom lost both of her legs and never once complained. "And if I ever loose my legs, I won't moan and I won't beg" I have that line tattooed on my forearm to remind me that you can handle anything life throws at you
❤️
Inspirational
Your Mom sounds like a very inspirational lady, bless her❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your mom is truly a hero! Love to you and your family!
A man on a journey through life. An artist, a seeker and a calling. Thank you for sharing with us.
He's incredible
Oh how I spent my teenage years swooning over this man ... along with Mr Bolan , Mr Dylan & Mr Gilmore & Donovan ..... I still do n I'm a Grandma now ! 😂😂😂
Mr.Bolon? Tommy Bolin?
You made me smile with Donovan..wow..memory lane
@@tessaburkhamer3856Marc Bolan from T Rex
This song got me through such a dark period, I mean really dark like ending it all, but this song is like "No matter how dark it gets, it can always be worse but there's always light" and there are many songs like this, Thank you so much Cat / Yusuf (you actually kept me alive)
@clandau1618 thanks! I wanted to hang myself but then you listen to Moonshadow and then you realise it would just make no sense. So thanks Cat / Yussuf in some way you saved my life
Stay strong brother. 🙏🏼
1971, the year I fell in love with Cat’s songs. These live performances are so cool!
What a legend,I’ve loved this song all my life & he’s still kicking ass At Glastonbury
Yes, I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever lose my hands
Lose my plow, lose my land
Oh, if I ever lose my hands
Oh if, I won't have to work no more
And if I ever lose my eyes
If my colors all run dry
Yes, if I ever lose my eyes
Oh if, I won't have to cry no more
Yes, I am bein' followed by a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever lose my legs
I won't moan, and I won't beg
Oh, if I ever lose my legs
Oh if, I won't have to walk no more
And if I ever lose my mouth
All my teeth, north and south
Yes, if I ever lose my mouth
Oh if, I won't have to talk
Did it take long to find me?
I asked the faithful light
Oh, did it take long to find me?
And are you gonna stay the night?
I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow
The Faithful Light must be capitalized.

I was born when this song was released by Yusuf (Formerly Cat Stevens). My Mom was a Hippie and would play this song for my Sister and I when we were very young. As I grew older and more mature I started to understand this song and it's wonderful message that will always be true. No single part of you constitutes you and no matter what adversity you face there is always a flip side. So if you need me I'll be "leaping and hoping on a moon shadow". Peace!
I sing this song at least once a week. It is very spiritual and childlike. Appreciate you. ❤️ 🌙
I still get chills and tear up after decades of listening to this Majestical Man...🎶🕊️💜
now I know why I felt like Moonlight Shadow sounded better in my childhood, it was actually Moonshadow.. beautiful song
1971 that brings back some memories.

Cat Stevens has been my happy place for over fifty years. I adore this man and the memories of my youth that he evokes.
This song never gets old ❤️
I was little when my sister and I sang this song together. Good memories
This song was featured in the Netflix series This Is Us. There are so many great songs on the soundtrack from that magical music era.
This guy is absolutely timeless, his voice has such a sweet and melodious sound and with his vibrato in the mix no wonder he has such a unique voice.
My all-time favorite ❤😊
Oh my God I love this music
Cat Stevens/ Yusuf my life without his music cannot comprehend Love this song xx❤🐈💯

Touched my heart Yusuf...
I have always liked that song.
Are Sami yusuf and cat Stevens related. Any one have that answer?
@@Finley67 no, they're not
@@esrakaya3057 Thank you very much for letting me know. I was just googling it. Very Much appreciated. They are both wonderful singers.
i am so very glad that Yusuf or Cat Stevens as I knew him has decided to share his music with us again. I was saddened when he seemed to not want people to listen to his old music. I am glad he is aagin sharing his great music with us. I believe his music transcends any political or religious predjudice and am glad he is again sharing it with us.
Great composer and musician, for me he will always be CAT STEVENS. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was born in 1977 he is one if the most beautiful singers and my favorite I Ben listening too him since I was 10 and lived him then and I love him now and always! And I just wanna tell all of you I love you all.we all need too live eachother.

1971 that brings back some memories.

Cat Stevens é pra toda a eternidade
Não existe e nunca vai existir, alguém que penetre tão profundamente na nossa alma, e que bom por isso 🙏
We used this song as bedtime music for our son for years, along with Morning Has Broken and Peter, Paul and Mary's Puff the Magic Dragon. Worked every time.
Still love Cat Stevens. 💕 ~. 1953. 0:06 🎶🍃🌸🍃🎶

I just lost my dad an he would sing this to me as a lullaby an it will always remind me of himan how he taught me to always stay optimistic
I remember the first time I herd this song , I must of been about 6 or 7 and it was an artist covering it live and I instantly fell in love with the song and made my parents play the song non it's the very first song I remember liking it's like I had an emotional connection to the song then already
Excellent performance of a lovely song :-)

I was born in 1971. Beautiful artist and song
my father used to play this song for me when i was little. Its the only fond memory i have of him.
Remember my parents listening to this in the early/mid 70s and even as a kid being impressed by him. It sounds so simple and it really isn't!
I sing this song every full Moon. Mr. X
Cat Stevens' music is glorious and invaluable.
I had all his albums by the way. Tea for the Tillerman, Catch Bull at Four, Teaser and the Firecat, and Foreigner. Every one fantastic and you had to believe he truly was an honorable man.
I stayed until the end!
I am 46 and never heard cat stevens sing . What a lovely song, is it meant to be sad cause I feel like crying now
I never saw/heard it as sad. I do think it reflected a young man becoming aware of and rehearsing what life might throw at him and how he would deal with that gracefully and stoically because there is always the beautiful and elusive moon shadow which transcends misfortune by lending us imagination and courage.
It's literally the optimism anthem
I love the true hearted man cat u the best
The bridge that leads into the chorus is a masterpiece.
It would be great if this concert is in blue-Ray or at least in DVD form.
Mr Sir Yusuf/Cat Stevens, to me this and Morning has Broken are songs of my youth, looking forward to watching you at Glastonbury sir.
Stephen Colbert has this regular bit where he asks celebrities questions and one of the questions is, "If you can only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?"
My answer would be this song.
I loved his voice and all of his songs. Listening to Cat Stevens was a big part of my younger years.
me too
The Greatest song writer Britain ever had or will have. Beautiful music.
Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens’ music is very healing for my anxiety and my canary loves his music too.
anyone that insults Cats conversion to Islam loses all respect from me...
Me too - I don’t understand why anyone would have an issue with him converting to Islam anyway? It is his life and belief.
@@christophernicholls6067I have worked in communities that have many Muslim families. I have generally found people to be kind and decent, hard working, and loving and family oriented, though nothing is perfect, and every barrel (of all shapes and sizes) has its rotten apples. I think it pays to be interested in one another and to value and be curious about difference, to reach out to each other. We have more that unites us than divides.
Such a great, peaceful song. By a great, peaceful artist.
Listened to this cool song during both total eclipses of 2017 in Nebraska, and 2024 in southern Missouri.
Absolutely love his music! These were the good years ,and the best music ever.
Such a delight to listen to this song, it brings back the days of our youth. I hope that all of Yusuf Cat Stevens' fellow band members are still alive and will join with him to play together again one day. This is a beautiful live video from 1971, which was only, lol, only 50 years ago now. Time goes by, but good music lives on and on!
What a great song !!! We need more Cat Stevens in this world !!!
Efsanesin Kralsın Adamsın... Thank you..
1971 that brings back some memories.
Another superb song a classic
I remember this coming out on the radio in the 1970s
This song reminds me of my Mam dragging me from the radio to sit and eat ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Amazing, beautiful lyrics, great voice and stellar performance. Cat Stevens is one of the best. I hope he's happy where ever he is today.
Love this guy's music...LOVE IT
in the 90s i got sick of no cat stevens and went to the record store to order yusuf islam and they told me it was on the banned list.... longer boats prevailed and now he gets the props he deserves.
Growing up I had his greatest hits album Cat you're awesome.
