I saw him at the Forum in Los Angeles during this very tour, including one night sitting in the front row just a few feet away. To say it was a magical night would be an understatement. I was (and am) a massive fan. It was an extraordinary experience that I have never forgotten. My friend and I had the chance to get front row seats. It seemed so sketchy, having to pick them up from some unknown guy in an industrial park. We thought it likely we would die. But for Cat it just seemed worth it. It turned out fine. The guy was a straight shooter who simply couldn't go. We paid $50 each for front row. That certainly tells you it was a different time. And even though we were poor high school kids, I consider it some of the best money ever spent. I'm so glad this great singer is still around bringing joy.

That's surprising, given the west is pushing towards the unthinkable. I remember hearing about Lester Pearson. I think he was CDN PM before P.E. Trudeau. He half-jokingly suggested Canadians paint arrows on the roofs of our homes, but given the destructive potential these days, what's the point of anything except peace thru negotiations, yielding self-determination between all nations, much like we people generally do between each other. Remember "live & let live"? Don't we varied peoples all live by that?
Saw the Navicat tour in 10th grade....now I'm 61...how did that happen? He sang this song last and I remember everyone stood and he played it a 2nd time and we all sang. One of the best experiences of my life. His songs were of hope and peacefulness. They actually encouraged us to be peaceABLE, not just peaceFUL. Totally different. So glad you are sharing your music once again. That you have a wonderful family. After your relationship with God they are your most precious jewels. Your music is diamonds.
I'M SEVENTY THREE YEARS OLD AND I REMEMBER WHEN SONGWRITERS AND SINGERS WERE ACTUALLY POETS! THE MUSIC ON THE RADIO WAS GREAT, LOTS OF POETIC SOULS IN THOSE DAYS! I REALLY MISS IT!!
As a teen in the 70s, I still cherish your music now as I did when I saw you live in concert. Never will your voice grow old or your lyrics out of date. They smooth me now as in my youth. Hope I have shared as much of your music to a new generation as you gave me. Peace and Faith always, Emily.

His voice is still fantastic. Great performer. I'm so glad Yusuf/Cat came back to music again. Such a brilliant songwriter.🎼🎵🎶
OOHHHHH AHHHHHH WEEEE AHHH HOOO AHHHHH?? My favorite parts.. no simple la la la las here Man.. He’s the Cats Pajamas. One of the time greats fer sure. . Yusuf , Cat Steven’s. Don’t matter.. I’m thinking he was a good man With Some Awesome Music To share with da WORLD.. if only we could listen..
The Bible says make peace ✌ with all men and without holiness no man will see GOD .
Amen 🙌
Those lyrics are so beautiful
For close to fifty years your music has woven a ribbon through my life. Thank you ❤️
Awesome now as it was back then.
America need this song right now
You mean USA America is a whole continent
@@li528ify ha lol yes yes indeed.
@@li528ifyEh, there's enough hot mess to go around the New World that no correction is particularly needed here.

I'M SEVENTY THREE YEARS OLD AND I REMEMBER WHEN SONGWRITERS AND SINGERS WERE ACTUALLY POETS! THE MUSIC ON THE RADIO WAS GREAT, LOTS OF POETIC SOULS IN THOSE DAYS! I REALLY MISS IT!!
Masterpiece ❤ When Music was real music ❤❤❤
I was around but never saw him - his joy was/is contagious?!
As a teen in the 70s, I still cherish your music now as I did when I saw you live in concert. Never will your voice grow old or your lyrics out of date. They smooth me now as in my youth. Hope I have shared as much of your music to a new generation as you gave me.
Peace and Faith always, Emily.
Without a doubt the greatest of the pop folk singer songwriters of the 20th century.
We all could use some peace in the world right now.
This is the song I want to be played at my funeral, 100%
