      I have the 40-150 F2.8 lens. There is another 40-150mm lens, but its a F4 lens. Regarding the converters. The one I use is the MC14. explore.omsystem.com/gb/en/m-zuiko-digital-1-4x-teleconverter-mc-14 The other converter is the MC20, which is a two times converter. Are you in the UK ?

    Hi Roger, great video! Do you know if Olympus has increased their lens selection compatible with the higher FPS of ProCap 2 since you created this video?

    • @rogerhance5883

      Thanks for the kind comment. Not that I am aware of. The new 90mm macro is a pro lens, so that may work at the higher FPS, but I am not sure.

    Nice video! If I use back button focus, should I keep pressing the AF-ON button when trace the birds or the camera will automatically trace the birds for me? And to start the procaputure , I just need to half press the shutter button? Thank you very much!

    • @rogerhance5883
      @rogerhance5883  Год назад

      Thanks for the kind comment. I could be wrong, but I do not think Pro Capture works with back button focusing. You have to set it to shutter button focus for ProCap. I am not 100% sure about this, so maybe contact someone at OM1 solutions to clarify. I find back button focus has not advantage with the subject detection on the Om1 being so good.

    Could I trouble you to ask what the shutter speed was for the amazing shot at 7:53? I was reviewing this video for the second time preparing to go out and use my new-to-me 40-150 f2.8 arriving today. I love the capture on this with the wide wings so sharp and just a hint of motion on the more active wings on the right. Would like to use it for a starting point and see what I can do. :) Great video - very helpful.

    Hi Roger. Great shots. I notice that you set Bird Ai with C-AF + Tracking. This is an area I am confused about. When to use C-AF with Bird Ai alone and when to add in + Tracking as Bird AI with C-AF alone seems to track birds anyway. Help!

    • @michaelhamilton7037
      @michaelhamilton7037 2 года назад

      Bumping this question up. I too was wondering if/when C-AF+Tracking might help/hinder subject tracking? I think the if the focus area is restricted to be smaller than the entire frame and C-AF+Tracking is on, then a recognised subject will continue to be tracked if it leaves the restricted focus area. But I'd be interested to know if there are other uses for it - for example, could it make the camera stick with one bird in the frame in preference to jumping to a different one?

    Excellent video Roger, how effective do you find the autofocus tracking to be on the OM-1 ? Are most shots in focus on the fighting finches or just the occasional one? The fixed focus on procap high on the EM1x is a drawback.

    • @rogerhance5883
      @rogerhance5883  2 года назад

      Sorry for the delay in replying to your question John. I somehow missed this one.
      The autofocus on the OM1 is the best I have ever used. Most of the shots of the fighting finches were sharp. The fixed focus of the EM1X was a drawback , as it still is when using SH1 on the OM1. With the new` low setting` on the OM1 -SH2 (50fps) , you get continous autofocus, so the number of sharp images increases significantly. It makes things too easy really !

I'm now off to find a suitable post like the one which you demonstrated and will attach a few 6" nails at the bottom so that I can move it around similar to the props which you have shown in previous videos. It was particularly instructive to see how you cropped one of your images as I always wonder how much cropping goes on with these sorts of shots. (Inevitable of course with this sort of action). Are you using a remote cable release, your finger or the OI.Share app to half press the shutter?

      Hi Alan, Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. This time he post was not attached to the wood block with the 6" nails. I was using a small plastic tub that had been filled with cement, and a piece of 3ft x2"x2" set in it . The post is then attached to it with gaffer tape. It works just the same. I was using a cable release. Its easier than holding your hand up to the camera all the time.
