I’m considering buying the new version of this amp that’s going for right around 4600 USD… By the way you let some sick ass drum and bass go at the beginning intro of this video who is that on recording… Information needed!,,! thanks a lot Brother great review & I’m gonna go with LuxMan
Hi do you think the sound quality between the 505 and 509 closes depending on chosen speakers like harbeth speakers that don’t drop below 6 ohms , I have heard the 505 and 509 and yes can hear a difference but wouldn’t describe the 505 as shouty
doh copy type error thanks for pointing it out, the 509X is a much better amp, it sounds more natural more sweet but with more energy and it delivers it with more refinement on a bigger scale with more authority and far less shouty, more full and rounded bass as well - the 509 is a special amp. We are talking £5k price difference and you will need the right system to justify it For a lot of people the 505 will be a good buy
Great review! Similar question: how does this compare to the 507ux MKii? I have a pair of Dynaudio Special 40s that are underpowered by a 70 wpc Marantz 8006 integrated amp. These awesome speakers want more power-I’m hoping the 505 should be enough. Comments please?
Hi I haven't heard the 507 to compare there is a big difference between the 505 and 509X but there is a huge difference in price. The 505 drove me KEF Reference 3 no problem it's in the quality of the sound where the difference is more obvious rather than speaker driving capability

The Yamaha is very special, but has a sound signature that is, honestly, clearly lacking in the energy-department. It does NOT party! Any Luxman will perform better in that regard. But until I get a Luxman, my Yamaha will do:)
There doesnt always need to be a comparison made for everything. If you compare this to McIntosh and yamaha what about the hundreds of other options out there. This is how this product performs and what it does then the buyer should decide if that is what they are looking for hopefully listening during that process.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem That's true. There are so many options to choose from..which is a great thing! I really like the Luxman. I also really like the Yamaha! Obviously, one can't go wrong with either. After a certian price point, it's all a matter of aesthetics. System matching doesn't seem to be a factor by then, only preference. Some of us still like to know the why pay more with that inevitable diminishing returns factor always present. Spending lots more while only achieving increments in sound quality is a real deciding factor, for me anyway. That's where the compared to what comes from? Spectral and Krell have always been my references while individually being paired w/ Wilson Audio. But my money ended up with Classe CA and BAT electronics! An easy compromise i lived with. Thanks all the same for all your entertaining and quite well done videos!! Always tuning in.👍
@@jamiesmith6838 Dont believe in the law of diminishing returns there is just a limiting factor holding the system back work that out and on you go and on and so on. People that believe in it are not finding it or it's something hard to fix like room dimensions. Thanks for watching appreciate it
It's interesting to note that for the $, the specs are nothing special at all. Hard convince myself that I can get a lot of gear for that $ with far better specs all around. I'm skeptical honestly.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Specs are not everything to be sure, but as you know at that $, there's great sounding gear with far better specs. I don't see that unit driving lower efficiency speaker such as ATC to higher volumes and so forth. It seems to be geared toward the older audiophile who wants a statement bit of kit who listens to music and lower levels and so forth. No doubt with the right speakers at modest listening volumes its very refined. What would you compare it too in that price range?
£3.500 for an amplifier? Why? That's extortionate when you consider whats out there (Yamaha, Pioneer, Marantz, Denon etc). Are you paying for the sonic presentation? Audiofoolery!

Not as pretty looking as maybe the older Luxman's but soundwise it's very pleasing to my ears. These amps still have that natural, crystal clean sound as much as ever ! Try matching it with a pair of Wharfedale Linton's and listen to that beautiful clarity.Recommend this amplifier !
Sounds great in this review. Think I’ll get one!

How would you compare this to an Arcam A49 or comparible McIntosh?
Thank you, so what is the difference with L-509X? By the way, you have the L-509X in your description.

They’re made only at 100V? Need a step up:down transformer for 110V?
There is a Luxman America so sure they make their products for the US market too

can I ask, since you have also tried a single 150 if luxman has the same sound mark?
sorry what's the single 150 - probably answers your question
what alternatives for that sound quality you can recomend for less price? what about Technics SU-G700? can you compare those two?
The YBA IA200 is a great amp for around 2k in price ruclips.net/video/9aR_m1ayRpw/видео.html

Now we only need the review of the 590II Class A Luxman
gryphongryph yes and the very top range 900 pre and power it's a hard life :)
It is a nice piece
I compared it with the Yamaha a-s 2200 and my owne Leema tucana mk2 anniversary.
The Leema winst by far.

Does this amp have Bluetooth?
no no digital section
luxman L-505uXIIと Accuphase E-280 金額的に同じぐらいなので比較して欲しいです。
Very nice! But compared to what? Macintosh? Pass Labs? Yamaha?
