My opinion is that YOU should read your own text. A robot voiceover is obvious in its lack of humanity, regardless of what 'they' think they can do. Just saying.
@@cjay2 Maybe you are right. But I am not native English speaker, and have tried to record my own voice, but people do not watch videos with my voiceover. So, I don not use it anymore.
Very nice job. Looking forward to viewing your other vids on hifi manufacturers. As for those that dislike aspects of this video, they should link their own videos so we can get an example of how to improve things. (Not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.)
My DAC Naim sounds very good , could never change it to something else. It is reference DAC , and with external power supply. Expensive but can not live without it😊😊
It's not so much a case of sound over specs as understanding beyond what point improving specs makes zero audible difference. You can then invest more of the budget in other aspects of the design that actually matter rather than chasing unicorns. In that respect, I think Julian's designs were best described as sensible.
@@kevinbeckenham3872 I personally can't say anything bad about them, but the fact that they are owned by a Chinese company is noticeable. The products have become more lifestyle.
you are correct but it's not the whole story, if specs matter that much to sound quality NAD wouldn't have sold the boat load of 3020's it did, spec wise it was nothing to write home about but sound quality wise well enough said. specs play a part but only give you a rough idea of how loud an amplifier is expected to be & will it drive/control your speakers, good circuit design plays the biggest part get the signal in & out as quick & as faithful to the source as possible with enough watts & more importantly current to complete the task.
Great specs are a marketting con, and don't tell you what the product sounds like. A little even harmonic distortion gives character, but that will look bad on the spec sheet...
Interesting watch however the 70's porno background music was irritating as was the A.I. voice. In a nutshell get rid of the music and do the vocals yourself then youll be golden.
Not the same company anymore ,taken over & went down hill ever since , older products not given a second thought . 1st Generation NDX new firmware update is just a joke solves no problems , when using tidal , new naim streamers 5k - 8k & upwards , £200 streamer connected to CD DAC gives far better results saving £thousand’s with no problems . Complete game changer , don’t be conned with hi priced hifi .

One day people will realise that the HiFi industry is just a construct to sell gear by creating rabbit holes. Get down that rabbit hole son and buy some Naim gear.
@@xcvbxcvb2179 I've had my trusty naim amp for 15 year, paid about 1000 or so for it, not bad value over that time period, and it's sound is so satisfying.

Thanks for the video and explaining your use of the voiceover. I love my 40 yr old Naim gear.

Elegant products. Well done!
Super. Very interesting story.
Thanks!!!!
Money has no place in sound reproduction just accessing the music Naim do well in this regard
“The acoustics depend on the amplifire”………i do not think that is true!
Would naim consider making a cassette deck with own DAC,ADC with own C.D burner in future?

Seems obvious but well said.
Enjoyed that, thankyou
What was the music you used?? Interesting video, thank you!
Thank you for watching! The music is just a simple free track “Simple Take” from Clipchamp app.
Excellent!
Thank you!
What do think of new QUAD gear?
@@kevinbeckenham3872 I personally can't say anything bad about them, but the fact that they are owned by a Chinese company is noticeable. The products have become more lifestyle.
The reason why NAIM advertises “sound over specs” because their specs aren’t great, they sound “just okay” and are overpriced in North America.
well said...specs make sound,fact

overpriced ? what retail stereo gear isnt overpriced?

The “Unighty” 🤣🤣
I think naim went down hill when JV passed. it was taken over by focal and then the whole streaming thing.
This feels unauthentic and human, as if someone has asked A.I to do it. Sad tribute to what was a great British institution.😢
Nobody asked AI to do it. I only use robot reader to read my texts.

Specs make sound...try an amp thats noisy and full of distortion and see how it sounds
If the amp was noisy and heavily distorted, it would sound bad and no one would bother with the specs.
Really have to use crappy AI voices that get everything wrong I was going to watch it but I want bother now

The most overpriced and unpleasant sounding brand I have ever owned.
Probably the most overpriced brand in HiFi. Together with Linn.

Nowhere near as bad as Linn.
They hold their value though.
