- Since 1972, through its cutting-edge amplifier designs and audiophile-quality electronics, NAD Electronics has delivered “Truth in Power” to a loyal base of audio enthusiasts and music lovers. Throughout its 50 year history, the company has taken an unorthodox path to success with clever engineering, some plucky business savvy, and a dedicated network of partners willing to bail it out of a number of near-death situations. Still, it has endured - against the odds, some might say - and with its eyes firmly locked on value, simplicity, performance, and innovation, it continues to thrive today.

Thanks for the ride !
Congrats 🎉
Congratulations NAD!
Thank you for providing this great look into your history!
Great video on Audio history !!!
Excellent
What a great documentary. Thanks for to those who made and uploaded it! In two weeks, I will be the proud owner of a NAD amplifier for the first time, and I am looking very much forward. 🙂
That was brilliant. Rock on.
In the 1990-s Los Angeles was the mecca of hifi, and NAD had a strong presence among audiophiles, despite that giants like Sony and Denon bringing their very top models to LA big box retailers like The Good Guys. It was the very enthusiastic dealer network of NAD, often just one guy running a little store, who recruited the new NAD-faithful for life, like me.
Im so happy NAD you in my life thank you :)
Love my 3020. Used for 40 years and still shaking the ceiling
Back in 1990-1991, I bought my first audio system, I was 20 years old and of course didn’t have the amount of money I would like to spend, so I needed to find the best my money can get. I went to a local shop in Mexico City named “Sala Chopin” that were a NAD dealer in those years and bought the NAD 7020 receiver and a pair of Boston Acoustic’s A40 speakers, and then my father gave me his old Bose 501 III series and a Technics SL-XP7 portable CD player… that little NAD sounded beautiful and had a lot of power, I put the four speakers at the same time and it always delivered… I miss my little NAD receiver.
Recently bought NAD 3300 for €110 and in absolute top condition. Very pleased with this amplifier. Incredibly good sound with a good foundation, the RIAA amplifier is insanely good on this device. have had one from ifi and it was nowhere near this one on NAD.
Cromgratulations on your 50th birthday , keep up the great work , i owned a NAD 3020 series 20 , i enjoyed using it untill it had been vandalised an broke by youth in the area
I’ve got a NAD 3150. Sounds great
My favorite equipment since the 80's,
Beautiful stuff. Rock on NAD !!! 👍✨🌠
Congratulations NAD Electronics on your 50th anniversary! As a filmmaker, I was impressed with the content, but also the production of the documentary. Brilliantly done! I thought I knew the history of NAD, but I was delighted and surprised by many things I didn't know. I owned my first NAD receiver in the early 1980s and enjoyed it for a number of years. I then sold it for MORE than I paid for it. Having said that, I regretted that move because the replacement receiver I was sold wasn't what it was promised to be. My only consolation is that I have little doubt my original NAD is still performing beautifully for a new owner somewhere. "The best solutions are often counterintuitive!" Congratulations again!
What films have you made?
Sorry for slightly changing the subject , but need to say that such very well intended words by St. Francis perhaps fittingly apply to starting a new company of electronics for example, but surely it won't apply to other specific sectors of human endeavors , certainly NOT to the public affairs of a nation, to politics.
Tragically many an evil man found their excuse to wreak havoc on society, causing much pain and great sorrows based on that first sentence by St. Francis of ''Start by doing the necessary''; most of them who began thinking way too highly of themselves , later took attributions over other people's lives and future that they never should have.
Not in vain, Jesus God incarnate, ''God who saves'', The Truth, The Word of God The Father, ''The Logos'' or the information like St John called Him, who super cedes in wisdom the original Francis , like it does a zillion times more, this new Francis ''the pinko'' pope ( as many Latinos already call him with good reason) said that by ''its fruits NOW you know the tree...''.
Great for NAD and their triumphant work to this day. Wish more American companies would have similar, and even greater , of their laudable type of success, but since you R. C. Anderson wrote that you are a film maker, there is a theme to develop on a much needed documentary , either by you, if you still at it, or by the Hollyweird crowd, on making the American spirit GREAT AND A WINNER AGAIN FOR ALL THE GOOD REASONS .Just and justly saying...Shema!!!.
Too bad NAD is now super expense, unlike the old days

I invested in the C399 with the Blue OS and the C268 to power my Cornwall IV’s and Heresy IV’s, with room to add the Forte IV’s in the next year. I’m not a rich man and I can tell you I’m very happy with my NAD products. Especially being able to use a digital graphic EQ is wonderful. Point of the story is if you want quality, you get what you pay most of the time so quit complaining.
I love you NAD 😊❤️Happy 50th Anniversary
Thank you NAD. My T 750 with AR speakers are still going strong in 2023.
Thank you, NAD for your innovation and love of music. Still listening to my NAD 3130 since the 1980's.
Thank you for the great NAD Audio Products that the lucky among us have enjoyed for over 50 years.
In 1986 I bought the pre amp power amp version and a pair of Dali 3a. The best pairing of hifi I’ve had.
Long Live NAD, once I got used to their sound, I could never switch to anything else!! Happy 50th Anniversary
I want to have a particular model of this product soon!
I’ve always had at least one NAD component in my system, not out of brand loyalty but because they were the best for the price. I had a 3020B but had to sell it when I ran into financial trouble and now seriously regret it. That amp was _perfect._ It was in showroom condition and had never been thrashed. Much as I think the C338 at the heart of my current system is a good amp, I almost wish I still had the 3020B. And looking back, the guy who bought it got the bargain of the century. But at least I know it went to a good home.
Congratulations NAD for your first half century. I still own and enjoy my first amplifier NAD 3240PE, has given me good service for 30 years.
3240 is a great one,had it years ago and was very impressive
Very Proud and Happy to own a NAD C 368 with the add of the built-in bluOS 2i streaming system , the MDC is a terrific idea !!! thank you NAD !!! thank you for giving me affordable HIRES AUDIO DIMENSION at my life !!!!!❤
I built my first audio amplifier using germanium AC187/188 output transistors, using my pocket money, when i was in 4th grade in 1981. I used DIY stuff until i got my first job and when I could afford to buy a really good music system, my entry into the audiofile world was with a NAD 106 preamp and NAD 216thx poweramp. I have changed many amplifiers since and today I run a NAD C160 preamp and a NAD 208thx poweramp and have an original NAD 3020 for casual listening. The constant over this journey is that I've used only NAD.
One thing that was not mentioned in the documentary is that most of the older NAD amps were built with commonly available components. Hence, if a service technician is familiar with NAD design elements, these amps are very easy to service/repair thus extending the lifespan and adding further value to the experience.
I felt really proud watching this documentary and will continue on with my NAD journey, knowing that I am part of something special. Congrats on completing 50 years, many more to come. Thanks NAD!
Simply Lovely
I just got a 3020 that's been fully restored to brand new condition - I'm one happy hi fi fan :)
Used my NAD 7050 from 1986 for many years - still working, but I did upgrade to a C368. Excellent value for money and love the NAD sound. Congratulations on the 50 years.
Still have and love my 314 from the 90s, and I’m keeping it forever.
My curiosity about NAD and the early days of audiophile & hi-fi tech has been satisfied by this wonderful documentary.
Happy Birthday NAD! Cheers from Vienna
Inspiring story indeed...Congratulations on 50 years of innovative designs that have set & continue to set standards throughout the Audio industry. Wishing you and the Lenbrook team continued success for the next 50 years & beyond. PS, I still own my NAD3020 Integrated Amplifier that I purchased back in my University days...And it still makes Music...😎
Fascinating Documentary, now I like NAD even more.
Congratulations on 50 yrs!
Congratulations to NAD. I'm a proud and happy owner of the C 316 Bjørn-Erik Edvardsen V2 40 watts Class AB (grandson of 3020).
Happy 50th anniversary of NAD, NAD 716's loyalty has accompanied me for more than 20 years and continues to work beautifully to this day.
watching this hooked up to a NAD 3020
I own two 2200 and one 2600 amplifier. They will go to my children when my days pass.
NAD still building
The most musical high value
Integrated amps going
I have a c316 be v2
Simply beautiful story. As always it is the people who make the difference. NAD had the right people. Here's wishing the next 50-years is achieved in the same vein.
Very interesting and well done documentary! The NAD 2200PE amplifier mentioned tested by a RUclips channel at 19:00 was me (5yrs ago). I also tested the 7240PE receiver which also blew me away. Congratulations on 50 years and wish you success moving forward!
My NAD 7100 reciever is powering my Apogee Calipers after my Krell Power Amp went in for service . It is doing a brilliant job with it's humbly rated 50 watts per channel. Powering directly into it's power amp section with a Chord MOJO DAC.
Happy 50th Anniversary!! ❤️👏🎉🎂🎁
Congrats to NAD and all of the people behind NAD/Lenbrooks. Really enjoy this film and love the products. Worked with NAD at Hi-Fi klubben from approx 1993 to 2000. // Conny
Great history.
I always return to nad integrated Amp
Just picked up a 316v2
And prefer to higher priced separates
And the phono preamp is extremely good
Congrats to 50, and keep it going.
i had a nice little nad amp in the eighties i loved it but had to sell because in needed the cash , regret it still while my pals bought the ones with all the lights and tricks , it just powered my music perfectly
happy 50 Years anniversary NAD !
Love my NAD amps.. still going strong 20+ years
As a Bluesound POWERNODE owner, your sister company, I found this documentary fascinating and it really gave me (as a relative audiophile newbie) a real insight into the history of NAD and its brand ethos. Whilst I'm very happy with my POWERNODE, I look forward to upgrading to NAD, probably a M10 V2, when I can afford to - which in our present UK cost of living crisis may be sometime sadly. Also, I loved the quotes!
My first amplifier was the NAD 319, bought from new back in 1998. Since then it was followed by an NAD C372, and later on a second hand NAD M3. Wow the build quality for that amp was and is just amazint.. and now I am using the excellent NAD 390DD (direct digital).. Excellent amp
Thanks for making great products at a good price/value point.. 😀
I listened to the NAD M2 at a launch event for B&W 804 Diamond speakers. That is still my dream amp today
We need a retro 3020 now !
I am a musician and a stereophile and I still enjoy listening to music using my NAD C740 that I purchased new many years ago. It still works flawlessly and still sounds fantastic. Congratulations, NAD, on 50 years of innovation and excellence at an affordable price!
Been knowing this company was quality driven since my first exposure to them in 1984. Still have my 6300 tape deck and 408 power amp. Love than transcends time. This company steps up and delivers without hype or pretense. Bravo NAD! Press on!
Great job again, Lenbrook!
am enjoying my modified c320 amp and 516bee player. awesome stuff. Much respect to NAD!
Amazing documentary of a great great audio company that inspires countless people!! Hats off!
I ♥️ NAD
And now I know where my home amp and CD player is from .
This documentary was outstanding, and I want to say that I am also a loyal NAD customer for over 40 years!
Great job guys and congratulations
I've had about 12 NAD amplifiers over the years and have always been impressed with their performance
An amazing documentary told in a most engaging way.
Congrats on 50 years! I have owned NAD gear since my college days in 1984 and have been an NAD owner ever since. Keep it going for another 50 I love your products.
This was a pleasure to watch. I own several NAD components and love them. Thanks and congrats NAD!
Congratulations on 50 yrs! I have been with NAD for the last 40 of those years with my 7150 & 2150 and then added two 2200's. I introduced college friends to NAD in 1983 and they are also still using those amps. You have done and continue to do a super job.
NAD fans like me loved the industrial aesthetic of NAD gear in the 1980s. Nothing plain jane about it at all. Audiophiles recognised the honesty of NAD designs, which eschewed bells and whistles in favour of good solid engineeering. My first amp was the 7240PE, which I still have (along with its box). It is now serving out its second life as part of a vintage hifi setup. I'm glad I didn't sell it.
Happy fiftieth anniversary NAD. I have had a Nad 3130 Amplifier since 1992 and it's a fantastic amp!
What a life afirming story beautifully filmed. Such an interesting story.
Great company with strong Canadian foundations. I've had many NAD pieces over the years amps cd players home theatre products etc. Great documentary.
Fantastic 50 years 🎶 Here’s to another even better 50 !
Wonderful documentary, makes me proud to own and love NAD. With my 388C I’ve been so happy, the music is top quality with BluOS, Keep rockin in the free world 👊🏻🤘🏼
Congratulations to NAD. I'm still using my NAD integrated amp to this day. Congrats to whomever takes home the new and beautiful 3050!!
Well done! I loved this. I enjoy listening to Greg Stidsen.
NAD T778 owner here.
What's T778 like for music 2 channel? :)
@@lifeevent88 NAD M10 maybe?
Wonderful documentary. I still remember the first time I saw and heard an NAD system. at a record shop on Hamilton Road in Columbus Ohio called the Record Connection. There was a stereo store right next to them and they had given the store an NAD setup just to show it off to their customers. It was such a wonderful experience to go in there and hear them playing wonderful music, made me wanna get myself an NAD system.
Well done! Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. We were that young couple just starting out when we purchased our NAD 317 to drive our Magnepan speakers in the early 1980's. That unit is still driving speakers in our home today.
HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY NAD! : )
Congratulations NAD. I bought my 3020 Series 20 in 1982. Still have it a and interesting bought it for use with the AR38s I had also bought earlier (sadly gone last year). Loved the sound from the beginning and still do. The 3020 has been recapped and is currently used with a NAD tuner and Emotiva CD.
Yes it’s good stuff. I currently have a 3060 integrated amplifier from 1978. It needs to be re-capped but nonetheless it still sounds amazing. Their preamplifier stage is second to none and is why it sounds so amazing. I believe yours is a 20 W per channel and mine is rated at 60 W per channel. Most people don’t even understand what a true 20 W RMS is capable of. 60 W RMS is way more than most people would ever need.
Not to mention that NAD equipment was always under rated. Your 20 W amplifier probably puts out closer to 50 W because they were always very underrated!! not like the cheap crap we see today, (1000 watts lol BS)
My first real home stereo was a NAD 1155 preamp paired with the NAD 2200 power amp......loved the sound and been a NAD fan ever since....now proud owner of the D7050, NAD C165bee, NAD B275bee, NAD C565bee.....Great documentary, congrats on 50 years of excellence!
I’ve been reading audio publications for roughly 35 years and have literally never seen a negative review of any NAD product. I personally bought a c375BEE integrated amp in 2010. Its combination of clean power and a flexible feature set have allowed it to remain the hub of my system for over a dozen years, even with the addition of a sub and a miniDSP module. If I ever upgrade to a new integrated, you can bet that I’ll look to NAD!
Congratulations to 50 years!🎉 NAD is awesome :)
Congratulations NAD, a proud owner of 320 BEE and D3020 V2. Really happy with these units! !!! Way to go.
35:35 is a bit unfortunate 🤣
fascinating documentary though
Awesome! Greetings from Italy. NAD the best in High Fidelity! Wondeful documentary.
Almost 30 years later, still goin strong: NAD 302 🙂
Love nad best VFM stuff
I've been buying NAD (New Acoustic Dimension) amps since the late 70's ... I still have a Pre/Power Amp combo in one of my systems to this day 🎶😎
Nicely shot and informative piece. Well done.
The first HIFI system I bought from my savings was NAD. 25 year later I bought a new system. Of course NAD!
Thank you NAD for this amazing documentary and congratulations on your 50th anniversary!! I have never owned a NAD product. Though in the near future I certainly plan on it. Keep up with the innovative designs, the future of NAD is bright!!
Love the story. ❤ Time to look into what NAD is doing today. 🕵♂ Can't wait to see what it continues to do. 🎶
Happy anniversary!
My first NAD was a 7220PE. I think that was the model. It was an amazing receiver. This short story of NAD is as special as there products are. Thank you for this beautiful presentation.
A fantastic documentary, really well put together. Learnt lots of things I didn't know before. Hats off NAD!
I sold my NAD 3020i amplifier back in 1992/3 and replaced it with the 302. Wish I hadn't. I also sold the 302 last year after having owned it for more than 30 years (rather silly) and then couldn't find another. The closest I found was the 304. Probably the same except for a few LED's. I even had the NAD 6325 cassette deck, which I sold many years ago in the late 90's.
Well, I just bought a fully restored NAD 6325 cassette deck in beautiful condition, once again. Recorded my first cassette Side A onto a Maxell XLS-II 100 just this afternoon. Wow! just nostalgic.
As a tribute to NAD and a treat to myself I just ordered the NAD C3050 LE. It was the last one available. Can't wait...
I knew the NAD story, but not to this degree. RIP Marty and Eric. Proud owner of two c328's and a c427...and many others over the last 15 years. Will be looking for the next
generation integrateds with earc, so I can hook it up the the new TV I will be getting.
Happy 50th!! Time to turn up the sound in celebration
Congratulations..your historical overview was excellent!!
I recently switched from class A to your digital flagship integrated..
I couldn’t be happier with a product that is cutting edge from such a great company..Ty !!
