Today I'm showing you my step by step process for watercolor sky painting.
I am painting on Saunders Waterford Cold Press 140lb paper. I have my surface tilted to 35 degrees. I use a variety of brands of brushes. I mainly stick to a large mop, medium round and smaller synthetic brush with a point.
Here are the list of pigments on my palette:
Burnt Sienna
Cadmium Red
Cadmium Yellow Medium
Cerulean Blue
Cobalt Blue
Cobalt Teal Blue
Cobalt Turquoise
Lavender
Neutral Tint
Payne's Gray
Quinacridone Gold
Raw Sienna
Raw Sienna Light
Raw Umber
Rose Madder Permanent
Ultramarine Blue

It's a great tip to use rose to avoid green when blue and yellow are using too ! Thanks !
I tuoi video sono sempre così istruttivi e con risultati bellissimi!! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Thanks for posting this tutorial!!! It's amazing what our brains filter out when we look at something. I was just wondering the other day how to capture the blend from yellow to blue in a lot of sunsets, and never thought to use orange/rose. But once you demonstrate the technique, you realize how absolutely essential it is!
Just found your channel.❤I’m drooling. So many scenes I’ve wanted to do ❤ Thank you
That's a beautiful sky 😊
Danke für die Tips❤
Thank you 🙏
❤❤❤
would be nice to see your attempt to copy the sky exactly to understand the level of control
well, most of skyes can be done quite realistically, especially when done in more layers
Thank you so much I always study your videos. They are very helpful. I have a request. Can we have a demonstration of of coffee house scene please.
Do you like to use different colors for sunrise than sunset?
For those of us with distraction disorders like OCD , please, please remove stray hairs from your painting, asap. It literally drove me to distraction until it finally and magically disappeared. Now l shall give it a go - hair notwithstanding. 😂
Haha you can’t remove hairs from a wet wash, silly. It’ll destroy the wash and create blooms by dabbling around in there. You gotta get in and get out, the hair will dust off when the painting is dry and not create any marks.
@@AyaSmith You underestimate the effects of neurodivergency.
@@Bearwithme560 On the contrary, as someone diagnosed with OCD, ADHD, as well as ptsd and anxiety- I absolutely understand. But I also understand watercolors, and I follow its lead.
@@AyaSmith I've got a special tweezer and have learned how to pluck them off delicately enough not to damage the paper. I can't proceed with hairs on my paper, but that's just my idiocincracy.
Wait till it dries and pucker up your lips and blow. There are things to worry about but that’s not on the list,
