Thanks patgard36 glad you enjoyed the video and that you picked up a couple of tips from it! :-) Also thanks for taking the time to comment, it's much appreciated. Tight lines.
I hear a lot of people say meat is no good in the winter but I have used only one bait which has always been a success all year round which is bacon grill (some other type of spam or luncheon meat) marinated in smoked paprika and hemp oil. The ground bait I use can vary but not much, usually either soaked pellets, bloodworm groundbait, a mix of both or hemp groundbait and maggots. I mostly catch with the soaked pellet and bloodworm mix
Many thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos. Totally entertaining and full of good advice and a lot of great tips along the way. Tight lines and all the best to you and yours.
Hello Chris, Thanks for the tip about luncheon meat; I’ve used it twenty years ago at the ocean, fishing for needle fish. I had forgotten about it, but thanks to your video I can try it for carp. Great video! Thanks for sharing. Cheers and tight lines.
I followed these Methods except mine was unflavoured and i punched 10mm luncheon meat for the bait band(put on like a band em pellet). I've had some great sessions... biggest fish caught 11lb 7 carp...Thanks for taking the time making the video.
Great video, I’ve recently started fishing again after about 28 years and have recently been using meat, the only problem I’ve been having is the fish getting the meat off the rig, been using push stop methods. Definitely gonna try this hook system. Liked and faved, cheers 👍
It wouldn't be a "From the Waters Edge" without the trusty "you join me a short way into this session" 😂👍🏻 great vids though, not trying to sell anything to us, good info and great help! Thanks
Cheers Jack Halford glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment. Don't worry we will ;-) Ummmm yeah it would work in the winter, however it wouldn't be my chosen method if it was really cold. I'd go with either the method feeder/banjo/pellet feeder probably, depending on the type of venue I was fishing I guess. :-)
Hi Steve Yet another great video i am going to give this meat and hemp feeder a go on my club water. While you were fishing did you find the hemp and meat mix dried out (did you need to dampen it slightly or was it ok) and did you keep your hook bait meat in water. PS keep up the great work as i have learnt a great deal from you guys I'm even thinking about giving the beach fishing a go after watching your videos FTWETV has got to be one of the best fishing channels on youtube Thanks guys Brad
Hi brad thomas first of all thank you for the kind comments and for taking the time to post, it's much appreciated, it's always nice to hear too :-) The meat and hemp pretty much stayed damp all day, we did add some of the hemp juice too it at the start. I'm guessing it would be ok, but different weather conditions may dictate if it needs to be dampen etc for example on a baking hot day it may dry out quicker etc! Hope this helps! Nice to hear we may have inspired you for a spot of beach fishing too!!! There's a few fish about at the moment too I believe. If you do get out let us know how you get on, also if you fish this method! Thanks once again, be lucky and tight lines. Cheers Chris.
Hi Neil Smith glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Ummmm I'm not too sure really, I perhaps wouldn't use it in really, really deep water, as some of the feed may escape from the fine cage feeder. However I reckon it would be ok in water depths of up to 8-10ft I guess.
What size and weight is the baitfeed cage? What size is those bands to fasten the meat? What size Sensas riddle is that and the mesh size? What size Map do you use to cube the meat? Whats the hooks size and line size?
I’ll have to ask Steve to check, but I think the feeder was 1oz, the bait bands 4-6mm, the riddle for cubed meat 4mm, the meat cutter for hookbaits 8mm. Size 12-14 hook, 6-8lb hook link.
Hi TONTIZZY ummmm I would do if the fish was extra large, however it's very rare, normally once you have a few turns on the spool you can normally control most commercial fishery Carp. :-)
I was wondering if you move the feeder after letting it settle, to get the meat & hemp out of the cage feeder and to pull the hook-bait into the feed area?
You can do for definite. Twitching the feeder slightly is a nice tip, you'll often find you might get a bite straight after doing so, it can sometimes trigger the fish into feeding.
if you read part of the way pissed lol cheers the man whom vid I am on keep up the good work brilliant vid great looking fish is all that matters in the end catch and return it not Christmas polish lol
Hi Mark Dolan unfortunately we are based in Norfolk so we don't really have any canal fishing which is easily accessible, it would mean travelling quite a distance! You never know though, one day we maybe able to get something sorted! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! Tight lines, Cheers CHris.
Thanks any way mate keep videos coming or if you could do a river bream one maybe one day would be good as your vids are better than the promotional one trying just to sell you how long have you been match fishing I'm thinking about it any tips were I should start tight lines
Hey guys, great video and some good advice :)) I had a 11 foot feeder rod, 2 bite alarms, rod rest and some new reels. Both have 6lb line on and on Sunday i am going fishing to a local lake to test it out, what sort of methods would you advise on a mild-ish day? I am using a waggler and feeder rod, maybe down the margins using pellets on a banded? Cheers guys :) - James
Hi ***** thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! :-) The method feeder and/or pellet feeder is a good place to start. At this time of year, depending on the water temp etc then natural baits, like worm and maggot will also be very effective. It's hard to give detailed info without knowing the venue, but I'm sure you'll be ok and that you'll bag a few! Best tip is probably make sure you cast around your peg, as at this time of year the fish can often be quite tightly shoaled together, but once you find them you will generally catch a few! :-)
Hi Jason, I think it was a Daiwa TD Feeder rod... I'll check with Steve for you though. If you click the 'tackle box' link in the video description we list the tackle we use there. (I think this model might have been replaced by something else now tho.)
Nice one, cheers Liam. If you look at the tackle box link in our video description you'll see all the tackle we were using. Hope thats ok. Cheers Chris
40 years fishing bread hair rig bloomer ripped of with your fingers you will get a feel for it so you don't rip the bread to bits be carful get a good inch and over cube with nice fluffy bread attached to crust push your needle thru the fluffy side so it will hide the bait stop when loaded the weight of the bread should be enough to give you a good smooth cast if you need to get out more give you bait a split second dip in the lake but don't forget to cast as smooth as possible so that you don't put to much drag on your bait or it will come of if you have not tried this method before then you should and one single splash of bait instead of all the disturbance of two hitting the water has its advantages two and also because of the drag of line it will 70 % say likely to land with the hook completely out of the water and leave 4inch of line completely away from your bait but plain old bread simple straight though hook is the best and in my opinion in a wind unless it working your bait and you are in full control don't bother but if its in your control your going to have a good day just a hook and line is all that is needed don't do the double slash any carp or fish with any brain knows that did not fall of a tree love the method used it since a kid with hook and line wrapped around a peg and now ive got a rod all the kit I need but the method of simple all ways pay off been drinking sorry up at 7 208 cant be late

Hi MrBeefcake I've just set the latest video 'live' you can check it out on our channel now. Apologies it's taken a while, it's just both me and Steve have been very busy and due to other commitments it's means we cannot always get out and film as much as we'd like, its also very time consuming for me to edit and produce them, but we do try and do it as regular as we can :-) Thanks for the kind comments though, glad you enjoy the video's and thank you for taking the time to comment, it's always nice to hear. Good luck with your fishing and tight lines. Cheers Chris.

Hi just wondering if thats a daiwa light bomb rod really thinking about getting one what is the ideal casting weight upto thanks.
I noticed on your clipped up rod, the spool spinning while playing that last fish. Do you unclip if the fish really starts running?
Hi TONTIZZY ummmm I would do if the fish was extra large, however it's very rare, normally once you have a few turns on the spool you can normally control most commercial fishery Carp. :-)
Gonna give this a go today, going north wales for an overniter [or 2] ;] good vid,.
Nice one ivor nappinion glad you enjoyed the video! Hope your fishing is going well. :-)

great informative video, Have you had any success with that method catching barbel?
Cheers Paul! We haven't, we don't have many Barbel left if our local rivers anymore. Am sure it would work tho! :-)

Its well worth a go mate, get your tickets through Barford lakes.
I’m pretty sure it’s a match only Lake now. Check out their website as it has all the info.
I was thinking the same thing Jordan lol
Haha! stephenspars
Would it still work well moulding the shredded meat on a method feeder
I don't think It would Corey, I don't think the meat would grip the feeder well enough.
It might if you mixed the meat with pellets or groundbait, but not with hemp like Steve is here though.
a pond at my house has carp pounds 10 and up they look like gar when yoj see them but they wont take the bait how do i get them to take the bait
thank u from the waters edge
No worries at all Dan Simpson glad you enjoyed it.
Also when will there be more sea fishing?
James Guile More sea fishing is coming soon!! :-)
What hook size was he using?
I think it was a size 14 or 16.
Hey guys, great video and some good advice :)) I had a 11 foot feeder rod, 2 bite alarms, rod rest and some new reels. You fishing for sharks?

Nice one, cheers Liam. If you look at the tackle box link in our video description you'll see all the tackle we were using. Hope thats ok. Cheers Chris

"I don't think you can beat meat .."...well...thats quite the statement...👀👀👀👀🤣
:-D :-D
What rod is that
A Daiwa TD Feeder rod. I think they might have been discontinued now.
whens the next sea fishing vid
Should be coming next week Henri Thomas
what is it
cod doggies skate
Sea fishing is dead
why use a feeder instead of just a hook? please need a fast answer
Because it enables you to feed a bit of loose feed accurately around your hook bait +Aidan Wong
+From The Waters Edge TV thanks, I am not used to the concept of one. here in Suriname people don't even know what it is.
Have you ever tried SPAM before?
We have Brady, it's a very good bait. It's technically what we were using in this video really... same thing, just a different label.
Jesus that boy can rabbit on
When's the next sea vidio
Hi Henri Thomas I'm currently editing it at the moment, it should hopefully be live on Friday, all being well! Cheers CHris
