Completely agree with Baxty's thoughts on Lando Norris/McLaren's current status in terms of the WDC at this point in time. I also remember my line of thinking/how I typically thought and viewed myself in the world when I was Lando's age, so I'll reserve any further determinations on Lando until next year as he does have time to come to grow/understand. Don't know what Cameron is specifically looking for from Lewis and I can only speak for myself...stay engaged, put in the work, and walk away knowing that you didn't leave anything on the track Lewis (as it looks like he is working on doing) as that is all I'm looking for at this point. Lewis feeling like "f$%k it" after Brazil made perfect sense to me, him saying it out loud made perfect sense to me (not going to judge him on that), but most importantly Lewis showing up to Vegas, acknowledging the elephant in the room but recommitting to a strong focus/finish(s) is the more important thing.
Whether Lando is making making more mistakes or not - he is😂- I think his own team destroyed his confidence. The moment Maclaren told him to give up position to Piastri and many other bad team calls, I feel he got psychologically damaged by that and what might've been a few small mistakes turned into bigger ones, especially his start nemesis. Lewis too has been psychologically damaged by his 3 yr down experience and as a result making more mistakes. As usual, great chat Cam, Baxty, Chez; Thank you👍
2017, 2018 season and has won a wdc at 2008 with Ferrari winning the constructors Max is in his prime where as Lewis is 39 it’s like comparing Ronaldo to Haaland right now
Lando is a very fast, but also weirdly insecure or too optimistic about himself in interviews. He is not as mentally strong as Max yet, but he might still grow in the future. He has some work cut out for himself, to me it seemed this season that Lando didnt want to fight for the championship, while Max was fighting back hard.
I think the Lewis thing is so easily explained by situational factors the only rational thing to do is reserve judgment. He can't get to grips with the car and he's not incentivised to do so. He's worn out by Mercedes issues and he's mentally checked out. When the weather is cool and the rear comes to life, he's clearly still extremely quick. Silverstone and Spa demonstrate that, and dare I say it he looks fast this weekend again in wintery conditions. I bet he can't wait to get out of there and I can't wait either, so we can put this conversation to bed one way or another.
I am not a fan of MBS, but I think after the death of his son in a car accident in March 2023, he went off a cliff. He already had a dubious way of governing the FIA before that, but he surely became reckless after that.
Why is it for some such a problem to just say that Lewis is over his prime? He is only human. He has enormous problems with adapting to this kind of ground effect cars. If you give him a, for his driving style, more suitable car, he will perfrom, but never at the same level he has been. Just realastic. It will not be different next year with Ferrari. Charles is at his prime in a car type which just is less suited for a late braker as Lewis. So next year will be even harder for him to beat his team mate. Charles is a category better than George
I’m going to come to Lewis’ defence here. - On age: remember when Alonso got checked, and it turned out he (then) was a 42-year old in a 35-year old body? If the sly old fox can do it, I’m sure Lewis has taken good care of himself as well. - On leaving Mercedes: remember that this is quite an issue. Lewis isn’t part of strategic development anymore. He therefore lost his leadership role in the team. The car isn’t being developed anymore towards his needs and preferences. Strategy will likely not favour him. He isn’t the prime candidate for upgrades. In other words: he’s pretty isolated in that team right now, and it shows that he feels that. I can imagine it tastes quite bitter, after having been an integral part of that team for so many years. … Now is Lewis one of the goats? Of course he is. And of course folks have thrown the same excuses at him as they later threw at Max: “nah, he can only win in a dominant car, blah blah.” And yes, in a sport where it’s 70% car and 30% driver (you can argue about the percentages), a dominant car has helped him. Still: you need to stay consistent, you still need to deal with the inevitable curve balls that the sport will fling your way. You still need to get those points in the bag. … Having said that, I’m very curious about 2025. Lewis in a Ferrari, an exciting prospect! I do foresee some problems though: Charles isn’t going to just roll over and concede his alpha position in the team. Just like I reckon that Piastri, who was already reluctant to give in to team orders this year, will be a problem for Lando next year. Two alphas at Ferrari and two alphas at McLaren… interesting times indeed.
Truly great drivers get the best out of a bad car. Lewis's peak was the peak of the car he was driving. No benchmark posts 2016 because Bottas was not brought in to win the drivers championship. He's unhappy because he can't compete without the absolute best car.
Lewis told Mercedes that the no pod was a bad idea and the route that they’re going down will be disastrous for the car but George Russell liked it so they went with making the car favorable to what George Russell likes and that’s why the car is so bad Now after the break, Lewis gave them a full rundown of what was wrong with the car and why it was so slow and bad handling however, for the next free races, they have changed the car to the Lewis Hamilton Speck everything that he said was wrong with the car they have now reverted to that what is that telling you?
Never ever did I hear Michael Schumacher give up or come on the radio wanting to get out the car and give up. Lewis is a great racing driver, but stop putting on the same levels as a Schumacher or senna or a fangio or a Clark he's below all of them
I think it's pretty disgraceful what Hamilton has been doing this season yeah the car has been topnotch; but a driver like him should have been able to get more out of it. When Alonso said :this guy only knows how to drive when he starts first" I didn't agree with him, but seeing the previous and current season; I think Alonso was right. I find it very disappointing to see that when the going get's tough; Hamilton just gives up. I'm not so sure he will be able to reignite his flame at Ferrari if this is how he deals with set backs.
Norris could beat Max if he has a car that is second a lap quicker over the course of a whole season, if it is within halve a second he would have his hands full with Max. Could he beat Piastri though, as Piastri will be entering his 3rd season and keeps getting stronger the more experience he has. That is the real question. Norris has the speed, and Piastri has the racecraft. As soon as Piastri is up to speed, it will be game over for Norris. Also curious to see how Lewis and Charles will do against each other. As I rate Charles a stonger driver than Rosberg. Charles biggest issue is consistency. He makes to many mistakes. And Lewis kinda already lost against Russel.. I think Russel is underrated. But for a 100 million a year, I would not care where I ended on the grid. I would happily drive my rounds dead last every single race... Hahahhaha.
Lewis sounds somewhat depressive/burned out. Not surprising after so many years of pressure with a less performing car and the sour relation with Toto. I expect we will see another person in the Ferrari after a good rest.

You have no idea They are tampering with his car as George Russell has to come ahead of him for the team as the team has lost vast amount of shares as I told you before and now it seems like they haven’t got a driver that can deliver the championship so the rest of the shareholders And sponsors are leaving Mercedes Now because of George Russell, they have reached their limit in cost cap which means no more development unless they have already worked on the car previously or Part or had it on the car rather No, Las Vegas is a brand new track. Doesn't need to be that much of an advantage. He won't beat Verstappen in equal cars but F1 usually has a fastest car, nothing wrong with beating the best driver with the best car, that is and has often been what F1 is too. Button, Hakkinen, Hill, Mansell, Piquet, they have all done it.

It's not like he has the right to the best car. Best car happy and lesser car I want to quit. That sounds like diva behavior to me.
It's your job Lewis, drive the car good or bad. If you don't want that then go make clothes or be a rapper.
Mbs is that you?

So Hamilton was in his prima and on another level when Bottas was in the other Mercedes? Why wasn't he in his prime against Rosberg? Still too young? You guys drift so far away from what we see, into baseless speculation and fantasy. No one who'd look at Hamilton's performances of the past 3 seasons only will say "that's a future world champion there" if it was by a young driver.
When are you going to realise? Hamilton is a has-been. Merc won 8 championships, do you really think they would keep winning them? No!! I personally will be glad when he retires! As sick of hearing his name. He does nothing but winge.👎🤬
There was once a man named Muhammad Ali
F1 pays the bills for the FIA and indirectly, those 20 guys make that happen. If they back eachother, MBS should be a goner ...
Lulu was saying farewell because Merc are rotating crews for the last 3 races, so it was the last time he worked with that particular crew. Let’s chllax…
Bull Feathers ..... #44 is Done
As usual, great chat Cam, Baxty, Chez; Thank you👍
This Aged hilariously.... Hamilton's performance in Vegas is proof it's the setup and not him.
Has Lewis ever won a race in an inferior car? Or won a wdc without winning constructors? Rosberg beat him and Bottas won 10 races. Compare it to max
2017, 2018 season and has won a wdc at 2008 with Ferrari winning the constructors Max is in his prime where as Lewis is 39 it’s like comparing Ronaldo to Haaland right now
@ 2017 and 2018 the Mercedes was inferior? Lol
@@piebster1 Yeah believe what you want
You either have the heart of a champion or not.
Germany 2019 “Retire the car”
The problem is liberty media. Too many interests are distorting the landscape.
…
Now is Lewis one of the goats? Of course he is. And of course folks have thrown the same excuses at him as they later threw at Max: “nah, he can only win in a dominant car, blah blah.” And yes, in a sport where it’s 70% car and 30% driver (you can argue about the percentages), a dominant car has helped him. Still: you need to stay consistent, you still need to deal with the inevitable curve balls that the sport will fling your way. You still need to get those points in the bag.
…
Having said that, I’m very curious about 2025.
All three of you, what an encyclopedic knowledge. Oh, en met Lewis komt het volgend jaar wel goed.
Truly great drivers get the best out of a bad car. Lewis's peak was the peak of the car he was driving. No benchmark posts 2016 because Bottas was not brought in to win the drivers championship. He's unhappy because he can't compete without the absolute best car.
Has Mercedes' outperformance (if that's what it is) and RedBull setup to date changed the weekend's pecking order?
It's simple right, Lando will NEVER beat Max in an equal or near equal(meaning Max has a bur inferior, not otherwise) car.
Lewis the 6 time wdc is with Max, Senna, Clarke and Michael as the GOAT status
Lewis told Mercedes that the no pod was a bad idea and the route that they’re going down will be disastrous for the car but George Russell liked it so they went with making the car favorable to what George Russell likes and that’s why the car is so bad
Now after the break, Lewis gave them a full rundown of what was wrong with the car and why it was so slow and bad handling however, for the next free races, they have changed the car to the Lewis Hamilton Speck everything that he said was wrong with the car they have now reverted to that what is that telling you?
Lewis likes the victim role a bit too much when we all know what he's capable of. A bit like Lando is doing now. What's up with that?
Never say Never...
They do not remember that there GOAT lost WC from avarge racer called Rosberg how was not a briljant racer. Would had never happen to a Max.
Agreed 💯

Not fair Lando could beat Max if he was in a Sauber...... yep that is about it.
Support in Africa and Middle East…. MBS spending his money there by any chance?
How much motorsport is there anyway, besides the odd kid with a super wealthy dad?
Nothing.
MBS is typical for someone from that area, an absolute disrespect for the infidel.
Buying respect with oil$ will never work.
If Hamilton wasn't english, these guys would not be worshipping him like this. He needs to thank Valteri and Timo Glock for a few wdcs
Give Lewis the car and he will win. It's so simple.
Hamilton acts shamefully and it's refreshing? LOL.
I am the biggest Max fan, but Max has dialed out in a hopeless race once or twice...he just goes a bit loopy
As a fellow Max fan, you are 100% right. He has his moments where when he feels he can’t win the race anymore he turns into Mad Max and rage mode gets activated, but that’s also why I love him. His drive to win is next level
Assuming you are referring to a race like Hungary? In which he didn't dial out at all.. in fact he went for too much. Equally as bad one could argue.
@@user-pq1bb9bx4q that’s his way of dialing out, he goes over the top instead of switching off 🤷♂️
@@MrWill994 Yep agree. Makes for fun TV though.
@@user-pq1bb9bx4q oh 100%, you can’t say it’s not entertaining though often even I think it’s unnecessary, but every person/driver has their flaws
You have no idea
They are tampering with his car as George Russell has to come ahead of him for the team as the team has lost vast amount of shares as I told you before and now it seems like they haven’t got a driver that can deliver the championship so the rest of the shareholders And sponsors are leaving Mercedes
Now because of George Russell, they have reached their limit in cost cap which means no more development unless they have already worked on the car previously or Part or had it on the car rather
No, Las Vegas is a brand new track. Not many drivers know it. That’s when Lewis is shines. so let’s see what happens in Las Vegas and then I want to hear you come on and if he beats your boy, give him his props put some respect on his name
You are omniscient Drite. I defer to you
Prove it.
If Lando have an advantage like Mercedes had in the past he can beat Max.
But with egual cars,I dont think so.
That's true, if lando had the mclaren version of an rb19 and max had a red bull equivalent of a 2022 mclaren then lando could possibly beat him. However that is an extreme case and it's not fair at all, in equal cars max wins easily.
In equal cars, Lando is toast every single time....
The way Lewis made a come back in Vegas practises after he said he didn’t want to finished the season is crazy. #hectic 🔥
And lewis puts it in front of the grid today in fp1 and fp2😂
I like the content but his way of speaking is super tiring to listen to.
😭
I can't help it.
I've tried
@@Cameron-Cc Hey you do you. It's your channel. I'm not a native speaker but I sometimes forgot the first half of your question when you get to the second half. Glgl
Lewis needs to have a decent car and motivation …I believe next year it will be great with:
MAX vs LEWIS vs CHARLES !!!!
Thats is…if Max doesn’t leave f1…I won’t be surprised if he stops end of this season. I hope not…🙏
💩💩🤮🤮
Such fan boy nonesense this. A driver doesn't make
the biggest difference. If Norris was in a Redbull or McLaren and Max was in a Merc, Norris would beat Max. You can't say Norris will never beat Max.
But I can say if they were jn the same car lando will never beat max
@@shanescanlan65 True statement....
Lando Norris can still win the championship, but it would require a perfect storm, Lando maintaining his momentum and Max facing issues like DNFs or penalties. F1 has seen wild turnarounds before like 2007 and 2010. If anyone can capitalise its Lando. Never say never Cam!
