Peace king, i really appreciate you and your channel. I've had the MPC Live 2 now for abt a year in a half and I have learned a lot but I still get lost some times, lol. I am an independent artist/beginner producer/engineer. I have been making some good beats but I would like to see how or if you mix your beats and how you get everything sounding punchy straight out of the MPC. That kick was knocking thru my speakers. Lol and everything else was sounded clean and clear as well. I would love to know how you get your beats like this. Give thanks again! 💯🙏🏽

Great video! Exactly what i was looking for! I'm wondering if the track automations carry over to each sequence? If so, is there a way to get around that? Example... if i wanted automation on a track for a breakdown, how would i go about making another sequence w/o that automation in that track? Thanks!
You can XY Effect using the touch screen just switch the location to (program) at the top left of the XY screen. Have fun… 😊

I thought you could only do XY effect on programs how are you doing it on a track and can you still activate it on the track after clicking the eyeball
you can also automate using Q-Links on the main screen if you hold the Q-link button down and select program.

How do you automate filter cutoff/resonance in the regular mpc filter? Every tutorial deals with plugins and add in effects.

Can we record automation of FX that applies to the main outputs? I'm looking to add a intro sequence FX, but it shouldn't apply to like the whole song afterwards. Can't quite get that right.

Will any of these tips work on the MPC touch or is it different because it's just a controller? I'm assuming the 2.10 software the last update that came with it is the the same as the x,one, and live. I recently got this touch (smoking deal) but, I think I should have held out for the ONE. How to put the xyfx on all tracks instead of separate tracks on program ? When I put the effects on the 1/2 outputs it’ll work but not record, but when I switch it to program, it will only work on one instrument.
Can you automate the effects on/off buttons?
So before I was able to use xyfx with automation on but had to switch at the top left from output 1/2 to programs and it would work but I believe after the update it's glitchy and doesn't work as well try it out might work

YOU CAN RECORD AUTOMATION OF XY EFFECTS LIVE WHEN YOU ARE IN THE XY SCREEN AND ALREADY HAVE YOUR RECORD AUTOMATION BUTTON ON. IF YOU JUST WANT ONE PROGRAM AUTOMATED - BE IN THAT CURRENT PROGRAM AND TURN ON THE RED AUTO BUTTON THEN IN XY SCREEN, GO TO THE TOP OF SCREEN - AND SCROLL FROM INPUT 1/2 ALL THE WAY DOWN TO "CURRENT PROGRAM"... ONLY ONE PROGRAM AND XY SETTING CAN BE RECORDED AT ONE TIME (LIMITATIONS) BUT STILL COOL. YOU COULD KEEP GOING WITH THIS PROCESS BY SAMPLING THE SOLO TRACK AND KEEP BOUNCING AND KEEP ADDING XY EFFECTS BUT ONLY ONE AT A TIME CAUSE MPC CPU GETS OVERLOADED FAST WITH TOO MUCH AUTOMATION 🤷♂️😬👍🍻
That would be the same grid example I showed in the video. I want to record the XYFX the same way in the first example.
@@AveMcree Agreed!.. I was searching around for ages how to use XY FX on automation, I ended up recording as audio than just added the audio to the sequence. Would be great in an update with automation. As always, there are workarounds on the MPC cool stuff.
That’s crazy!!! They should fix that!!!!! That’s what I don’t like on the mpc. I want to use it on all instrument tracks.

Maybe I missed it but can you turn off the insert effects button on and off switch using automation is the way I tried it doesn’t work record mode or automation Hope you understand what I’m trying to say

the first automation you did to the bass... if i copied that sequence over BEFORE i added the automation on that track in that first sequence will that automation be on every sequence i copied?? Remember the sequence was copied before automation was added to lets say seq 1... will it be on seq 2 and 3 now?

I cannot figure out how to automate an effect on or off. I don't want to automate the mix level or any parameter, just on or off.

any idea why my automations wont export the way I have them set up? sometimes they record in correctly when exporting, sometimes they screw up and dont automate correctly when exporting.

How do you copy automation from one bar to another?
Edit: Found the answer if anyone else has the question. Main/sequence pencil/copy bars. It copies the automation along with the notes.

Revisiting this tutorial... What I'm finding most frustrating is that you can only automate insert effects but not send effects or sub mix channels. Not being able to automate sub mix levels or mutes seems like a ridiculous oversight. I have tried assigning q links but the adjustment is not recorded. It seems automation only works correctly on the first program sequence page.
u can always throw the new touchstrip EFX ON PER PAD OR GROUP
