I love the fact that the LED units are interchangable, for the price they are really good
Great video! Loved that you showed a before and after road test! 🙏
Thanks y’all! That’s the money shot. Another great morimoto product from you guys. I have Morimotos in my Ram and I’ve done projector retrofits in the past with you guys and morimoto and I love that y’all are local to me, Atlanta.
I've been looking for a video of these headlights in use. Great comparison! The price for these is a little high to buy immediately, though these are on my wishlist now.
Gotta wait for that cyber Monday sale haha.
Thank you so much for putting out a road test of these new lamps.
Thanks for checking it out. Old cars need love, too!
Yo! Thanks for putting out this video, I think I’ll be ordering some soon!
They look so good!
Great selection!
Thanks brother!
Thanks for the on road test! I got 4 of these for a quad low/high setup on an 87 e28 535is. So excited!
Have you received them yet? Four of them will be amazing!
@@tims_4x4_garage unfortunately it’s back ordered. Says stocking on 12/21 but that doesnt necessarily mean mine will ship. I’ll def try to put a video up once I do get them!
@@HaveyoumetKen I ordered last Tuesday, 11/30, mine were back ordered as well with a 12/21 estimated ship date but they ended up shipping Monday 12/6 and I received them Wednesday (I’m in Atlanta near TheRetrofitSource where I bought them) so maybe yours will ship by the end of this week. I’ll sub so I can catch that video when you post it. 4x will be insanely bright compared to halogens. The company product videos show lumens and that’s cool, but means nothing if you can’t see better. That’s why I felt like I needed to make an on-road video even though my videography is low budget I enjoy it.
Awesome Video in showing comparisons to the old halogen lights and how much the LED Retro Brights improve your night visibility.
Thanks! Definitely a huge improvement
The little pink socks in the edge of the frame were my little up and coming car chick so watch out haha. She’s 3 and totally into cars with dad
@@tims_4x4_garage that is awesome. 😊
Wow. Massive massive difference
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing
Very nice!
Noice! I know what I’m putting in the 914 now!
Heck yea man. I think you’ll be happy with the performance (and less watt draw) of these.
Literally, Night and Day! I'm looking into this, as I have Hella Glass lense, with Amazon bought LEDs, but the beam pattern is not in line, thus pretty off, and no function of my high beams, as the LEDS are only low beam. Thanks for this informative review! ('85 Corolla GTS Coupe).
I LOVE those corollas!
Nice before and after results, those high beams are LIT UP! I’m thinking this setup would have helped me avoid some recent front end damage caused by a deer avoidance incident. 😬
Oh no that’s awful. Looks like pretty extensive damage 💔my heart breaks for you. Post updates!
@@tims_4x4_garage It is a major bummer, but repairable. Luckily no frame damage, just a bent up and busted weld on the radiator support bracket… some high dollar items in there. Waiting on a second appraisal estimate from my insurance provider. 🤞🏼
@@NC944er yea, I saw that damage to the radiator support. Looks rough. You should get a quote from edredas, he’s on here and he’s based in NC. He restores and rebuilds 944s for a living. I’m sure you’ve come across his videos.
@@tims_4x4_garage Yeah, they do great work, but too rich for my blood. 😂 The adjuster wanted to write it off as a total loss. They offered me $8,200 and I’d get to keep the car, but then it would be listed as salvage and immediately worth like 40% less. I think I’ve convinced them I can do my own work to reduce costs, so trying to agree on a figure that will allow the car’s status to remain intact.
@@NC944er Dang man good luck with getting that sorted out and getting your car back running. I know you can’t replace it with one in like condition for that amount of money
these look nice, when u look at the car, but seem to be murky or hazy in their pattern because there is no projector. So you have to get weird UFO looking lights but at least they function more crisply.
Thank you for posting this! Is there a link to purchase these lights? Want to make sure I get the same ones
I got them from Theretrofitsource. I believe they only come in round ones or rectangular ones so you can’t mess it up. You just have to pick the color (cool/warm). I have the warm here and also in rectangular lights on my YJ.
Why not the 5700 ones? I can’t decide 😊
Need to compare these to the dapper lighting led projectors
Im sure those are badass lights and i love projectors BUT on this car, I didn’t want the look of a projector or a halo or anything that didn’t match the 80’s vibe of the car
@@tims_4x4_garage they have OE style.
Im the same way, I dont like the bug eye effect
@@PghMtbRides I see that, I checked out their site. Looks like a pretty good competitor for this product. Similar wattage as well
@@tims_4x4_garage im tempted to buy the Holley yellow lens light
Just not sure If id get hassled by the cops
@@PghMtbRides they wouldn’t bother you here in Georgia nobody cares here
Great!
you used 7in round or 5,75 to fit your porsche ?
Anything else needed to connect them ?
This car takes the 7in round ones. Nothing else needed but a screwdriver
Nice! I’ll be getting them cuz my led ones now are garbage. Worse than ur stocks
Bad LEDs are worse than stocks for sure. Usually bright but awful pattern with very little useful light. These are pricey (I picked them up over Black Friday) but morimoto stuff is always top notch. I think even the morimoto bulbs I dropped in my ram were like $200. I daily drive my 944 and I leave for work when it’s still pitch black out so headlight upgrade was worth the money for me.
@@tims_4x4_garage I barely drive at night but I’m upgrading it all. Especially my combination meter bulbs
Nice !
Now, just have them aimed properly and you'll be amazed at how far ahead you can see ! ;)
Hi,
Would you prefer the 3000k or the 5700k. I’m going to be installing it in a 1993 mr2. Thanks
Hey man I went with the “classic white” which is the 3000k which has a yellower tint rather than a bluer tint. I wanted to keep the retro 80s look of the car and match the fog lights. For me, this matched the look I was going for.
You'll see better with the 3000k classic white and even the 57000k yellow lens, vs the modern white.
How well have these held up to the weather & elements? Any moisture inside? Thanks!
I sold this car but I have the same headlights in my jeep but rectangle size and they’re still good. They’re fully sealed I don’t foresee any problems. hope this helps.
@@tims_4x4_garage That's a coincidence. I'm looking at the 5x7 ones for my jeep comanche. Did you get the 3000k or 5700k ones? Thanks
@@SalvagedCircuitry I got the classic/warm color for my 95 YJ, same as the color I put in the 87 Porsche to keep the classic look (I can’t remember the color temperature number)
@@SalvagedCircuitry Comanches are awesome my brother is into them. has a few
@@tims_4x4_garage The warm one is 3000k. I think I'm going to go for 3000k as well. The comanche addiction is real :D
What is the part # on these? Thx!
From my order invoice: Holley RetroBright Headlight: Classic White (7" Round) highly recommend. I’m bout to get some rectangle ones for my jeep
@@tims_4x4_garage The modern white is #LFRB155
$200 a piece at Summit
@@FueledBy.Passion They were definitely not cheap.
