Girl you had me rolling on the floor laughing with you starting to use that piece with your ruler for cutting!! Your comment, "well, that worked!" started the laughter and the more you tried and the more you laughed, the more I laughed!!! I could NOT stop!!! Thank you for making my evening even better!!!
I’ve been sick with pneumonia binge watching your shows and having a great time laughing along with you. Thank you for keeping me company while I’m bedridden. You’re saving me!
You’re a wonderful teacher and a great inspiration! Thank you for this series!! Continued prayers for you and your family...I know that much has likely happened since you did this video. But I know what it’s like to watch someone you love battling health issues. My (then 8 year old) daughter and I watched her Dad battle MS...and then cancer. I know how difficult it can be when you’re “being mom and wife” in such situations.Your family is blessed to have you!
Love your altered book. You are teaching us all a lot about this process. I hope that I'm the June that you included in your Hi and hugs in this video. There arent many of us with that name these days.
I giggled through this entire video... the man to your left looks very serious and concerned that you’re glueing on him. 😂 I was glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Getting medication right for chronic illnesses is a challenge and I know how hard it is as a parent to have to watch and worry during that process. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts and I’m hoping they get it all figured out so she can finally feel better!
I'm so glad your daughter is doing better. Let's hope she finds the right medication. I was taking a little break from my own crafting, and you had me roaring with laughter....thanks!
You did it again, Gayle, you piqued my interest! 😄 I looked up online for a tearing ruler and found one, which I promptly ordered. Then decided to check my kitchen drawer for baking paper boxes and found an empty one. I cut around the metal strip on both sides so I could fold it, giving it more strength. I was going to put extra cardboard inside, but decided against that and put in an old ruler instead and stapled along the card above the teeth, then covered it with patterned card stock. It works a treat! I'll compare the two when I receive my order.
That guy staring at us and looking mad that you were gluing his face cracked me up! Glad your daughter is feeling better. Have a better week...know that many of us are keeping you and yours in our prayers.
Oh Gayle bless you! You have just had me in complete stitches, I literally could not stop laughing with you! I've been watching you for a little while now and I'm officially addicted 😛 and I just wanted to say your collage papers look fab too 👍 xx
Love to hear you laughing!! Can't wait to play with your new digis! On your tiny edges, try cutting them off and running your distressing tool down the edge, maybe?❤😊
I absolutely love your laugh!! I'm working on an altered book now and I'm not sure if I like doing them. I am new at all of this but I love it. And I love your channel.
Gayle you crack me up. I love hearing you laugh, cause that means you are happy and doing something you love. Deja Vu moments are weird. My grandson had one the other day while visiting us and he was like "what just happened?" Just downloaded your collage pages. Can't wait to start using them. TFS
It’s lovely to watch you work , Gayle . Thank you for that . All the time you were working we had W C Heinz staring up at us as you smeared glue all over his face ! I hadn’t heard of him so I googled him and I was able to read a short piece that he wrote called “ Death of a racehorse “. Thank you for that , too . ( He also wrote “MASH”. ).
Love your videos. I really like this series. Wanted to share an idea to help with keeping the book open to the page you’re working on. Use an extra large binder clip. Thanks for sharing.
Just catching up on ur videos...I know what u mean about family crisis always coming up...don’t they know I have papers to glue and books to tear?! Well, I’m not on “alert” til Wednesday so mayb I can catch up! Haha...btw...as always U CRACK ME UP! Thank u thank u! All seriousness...glad everyone is doing better and u are back teaching us all u know Hugs Renee from Nebraska
Hi Gayle~Concerning past lives~I've had several experiences which leave me scratching my head. They both involve Ireland. One was a certain type of stone used in construction. The second has to do with a county name...Wicklow. In a town near by where I live in NW Michigan, some of the homes are constructed of a grey stone. I noticed them while on vacation years ago and thought to myself, gee, those look familiar. Another semi-related issue had to do with a county we drove through to get "up north". The county name was Wicklow.....fast forward to 2000 when I travelled to Ireland. I not only saw many houses made of a very similar stone, but I found out that my family was from nearby Wicklow! Was there a connection...who can say. Thanks for the lovely video.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! I’ve had a couple of dreams where people I know now were others with completely different relationships to me, but I KNEW them. I really think they were glimpses into past lives. My husband called me his little Hindu, because some of my beliefs are way out of the norm for our religion. Haha! You’re right, who’s to say. Big hugs! ❤️
Love your collage digitals they turned out great. Really neat idea for the DIY tear ruler looks like it really works. Daja vo I have that all the time, sometimes it creeps me out. Super cute birds in the end they are one of my favorite things. Tfs
You are working on a hard slippery surface as well. Maybe a cutting / grippy drawer matt type thing, under or adding some of the "grippy" to to the backside of the ruler or tearing thing? Glad to hear things are leveling out a bit! Had a couple deja vú moments this last week or two. Definately weird.
I said the same thing. The paper is between slick varnished wood and slick glass ... OF COURSE it's going to pull out. It has nothing to do with the type of ruler. I'd suggest putting a rubber or silicone mat under the paper.
I'm loving how your altered book is coming together! Beautiful papers. I collage " gluebooks" and have a couple of tips... I use small cotton rag to burnish down glued papers as I wonder how well they will stay down. It glides over all sorts of papers. And I keep old magazines for gluing on as things don't stick to the shiny paper. I'll be staying tuned to future videos and starting my own book. Thanks!
Hi Gayle, I’m enjoying watching you use your digitals on the book. I’ve ordered them and love them. There so pretty. I do have one complaint; that picture of that man starring at you and us gives me the he-be-gee-bees. Can you please glue that page down? Sorry,
Love this book you're doing! You're an inspiration to me. Love how you use different pages to decorate with and give us the links to find them. Can't wait to get started on my book!
I lovvvvvve your work as I said before! I’m laid up with a hip replacement but as soon as I can bend and do more stuff I’m going to finish my altered book! Yours are beauitful
Love the way your book is coming. I need to find me something with pictures like that and try that out. You and all the other ladies in Journaling are so inspiring.
This was good for me... I'm working on an altered book and I wanted to cover the pages with something before I started adding tags, and collage.. So after watching you I feel better about what I'm doing... Thanks
Love the idea of the old parchment edge. Going to give that a whirl! Thanks! I love how this is looking. Found you collage pages on your Etsy, lovely! So many pretty collage pages from everyone. I went to the wawa etsy page. Nice! Thanks again for a wonderful video.
Lovely pockets, great to learn new techniques. I've just been making three tier pockets, really easy, no sewing required (which is a good thing for me!!). Great digi...lots of texture. Joie xx
OMG. You're killing me. I'm laughing so hard, not at you but with you. Another tip, on those really skinny areas, instead of tearing I use my deckle edge craft scissors. Always available at any of the craft stores.
I love these digital pages ,haven't taken the plunge yet. Have a book I want to alter if I just had those digi pages. Love ur videos don't stop making them

I want to reach thru my phone & hold down the book for you. 😂 I think it’s great you are using collage sheets to collage. I love you using the straw paper. I can’t wait to get some. The We R Memory Keepers tear rulers are $14 on Amazon & you get 3. 😁💜💜
Cracking up. This video was made before you owned tear rulers. You have to watch this one again for a great laugh Gayle! Too funny. Thank goodness for tear rulers! Talk about being stuck in stupid mode! Haha (for anyone reading this, I am not calling Gayle stupid. This is something we joke about!)
I laughed out loud at your ripping failure. 🤣😂😃 I was thinking try glueing the ruler to the very edge of the cutter, I've done it and it works. Just a thought.
Love how this journal is coming together! Greatseeing your thought process. What's a wrinkle or 2 perhaps the books like me and earned them! Stay well & crafty.❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚
Hi Gayle, the buckeling may be because the pages are glued to the spine & then when are torn out, it pulls on another page. They can get squeejawed. That said, the book still looks great! I have your latest digi & an old book waiting to meet!🙂 TFS xoxo
Hi Gayle! I love that you are doing an altered artsy book page! Thanks, for that! Hey... have you ever thought to wet the edge of the paper that you want to tear? It usually works much easier.. unless maybe your paper is really heavy. Just a thought.
Hey Gayle. Looks like you're having a ball altering this book. You always give me a giggle. Just a suggestion, as I know how frustrating "buckling" can be on your pages, I think it may have something to do with how far down in the groove of the binding you glued that little tuck spot on the page. It may be that the bulk down by the binding is causing issues. I noticed that on the other pages where you glued the collage pieces a little further up from the binding, it didn't seem to buckle.?? Maybe give it a try and see if that helps.
loving everything gayle! that bunny-so cute! and the double pocket page-fun. the tearing of tiny edges is keeping us in stitches! surely "we" can come up with a solution right? i am staying tuned!! did you get a chance to dye some papers with easter egg dye?
Hi Gayle. Does your printer do edge to edge or borderless printing? Find it in the preferences for yout printer settings. Good luck! But it's still fun watching you do like I do! 🤣
What if you fold the white edges on your prints back and forth a few times. It may be easier to tear. You can use your score board to start the fold. Just a thought...
Oh my goodness. I am laughing so hard that I am crying and my husband can't figure out what's wrong with me. The idea of using the parchment strip is a good one except it's too flimsy. I have a tear ruler that I got off Amazon and I like it. I'm so glad you are so entertaining and can laugh at yourself. Better than watching TV! Love. Gayle either ruler might work better if you put a small cutting mat underneath the paper and it will slip less than on the glass. Jo Ann Spriggs. Waxahachie Texas
I love your videos...am new to your channel, BUT, I wish you would number your videos Altered Book pt 1, pt 2, pt 3, etc. I missed out on some of the pages and that is sad! Prayers, by the way.
Argh! I thought it was AliExpress that stole designs. I haven’t ever bought from them because of that. I wonder if the Etsy shop buys from them then resells? Hmm. ☹️
I went through all 970 products looking for that vellum pack. After placing my order, I messaged her to see if she had that and the brown paper pack you had so I could add to my order. Lol. We will see. Enabler you! LOVE this shop!!! 🙃
Jodi Sterling I am so sad, Jodi, that this shop is selling items from AliExpress that have stolen the designs of Artymaze. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that when I bought the paper and showed it on video. 😟. I have been boycotting AliExpress for this reason and now will do so with this shop too. I only regret I didn’t realize before this video. Just share as an FYI for you. Thanks for being such a regular viewer, Jodi! I appreciate you! ❤️
Question #1...don't want to use deckle cut scissors? The paper roll cutter makes uniform cuts, so I wonder why not the scissors? Then...how about trying to first fold where you want to cut? And I agree with the point about working on a slippery surface. Between the 20,000 of us, we should be able to solve this problem! 😄
So smart, my Peg! The folding for sure. I purchased on Amazon some tearing rulers. We’ll see how that goes. I know what you’re saying....of course you did! Haha! Love you Peg! 😘❤️
I’m so sorry, Shannon, but I cant recommend the Etsy that I purchased the paper from. Come to find out that paper is from AliExpress where they have stolen designs from Artymaze and others. I had no idea when I ordered, but now that I do, I’m so upset that I ordered that paper! 😡. Other than that, I’m so glad you liked the video! ❤️

@@gayleagostinelli_ct I suspect Etsy has no idea.
What size hole punch do you use on the pockets, making 1/2 circle? Ty 😀
Think it’s a one inch. ❤️
What is the straw paper you talk about? Your work is just beautiful!
Straw paper is an Italian paper used for placemats from what I understand. I order mine from www.etsy.com/shop/RoxyCreations. ❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct Thank you!
Where do you get the straw paper? When I put it in search boxes all I get is drinking straws.
I get the straw paper from Roxy Creations on Etsy.
Just add a piece of flat cork to the back to prevent slippage
OMGOSH, you are so funny!! Can you please link the stationary Etsy store? I’ve searched on Etsy and can’t find it, thanks!
@@gayleagostinelli_ct i looked on Etsy also, there is no wa wa stationary . ??
