You’re a wonderful teacher and a great inspiration! Thank you for this series!! Continued prayers for you and your family...I know that much has likely happened since you did this video. But I know what it’s like to watch someone you love battling health issues. My (then 8 year old) daughter and I watched her Dad battle MS...and then cancer. I know how difficult it can be when you’re “being mom and wife” in such situations.Your family is blessed to have you!

Girl you had me rolling on the floor laughing with you starting to use that piece with your ruler for cutting!! Your comment, "well, that worked!" started the laughter and the more you tried and the more you laughed, the more I laughed!!! I could NOT stop!!! Thank you for making my evening even better!!!

I giggled through this entire video... the man to your left looks very serious and concerned that you’re glueing on him. 😂 I was glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Getting medication right for chronic illnesses is a challenge and I know how hard it is as a parent to have to watch and worry during that process. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts and I’m hoping they get it all figured out so she can finally feel better!

You did it again, Gayle, you piqued my interest! 😄 I looked up online for a tearing ruler and found one, which I promptly ordered. Then decided to check my kitchen drawer for baking paper boxes and found an empty one. I cut around the metal strip on both sides so I could fold it, giving it more strength. I was going to put extra cardboard inside, but decided against that and put in an old ruler instead and stapled along the card above the teeth, then covered it with patterned card stock. It works a treat! I'll compare the two when I receive my order.

I'm loving how your altered book is coming together! Beautiful papers. I collage " gluebooks" and have a couple of tips... I use small cotton rag to burnish down glued papers as I wonder how well they will stay down. It glides over all sorts of papers. And I keep old magazines for gluing on as things don't stick to the shiny paper. I'll be staying tuned to future videos and starting my own book. Thanks!

You are working on a hard slippery surface as well. Maybe a cutting / grippy drawer matt type thing, under or adding some of the "grippy" to to the backside of the ruler or tearing thing?
Glad to hear things are leveling out a bit!
Had a couple deja vú moments this last week or two. Definately weird.

I said the same thing. The paper is between slick varnished wood and slick glass ... OF COURSE it's going to pull out. It has nothing to do with the type of ruler. I'd suggest putting a rubber or silicone mat under the paper.

Hi Gayle~Concerning past lives~I've had several experiences which leave me scratching my head. They both involve Ireland. One was a certain type of stone used in construction. The second has to do with a county name...Wicklow. In a town near by where I live in NW Michigan, some of the homes are constructed of a grey stone. I noticed them while on vacation years ago and thought to myself, gee, those look familiar. Another semi-related issue had to do with a county we drove through to get "up north". The county name was Wicklow.....fast forward to 2000 when I travelled to Ireland. I not only saw many houses made of a very similar stone, but I found out that my family was from nearby Wicklow! Was there a connection...who can say. Thanks for the lovely video.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I’ve had a couple of dreams where people I know now were others with completely different relationships to me, but I KNEW them. I really think they were glimpses into past lives. My husband called me his little Hindu, because some of my beliefs are way out of the norm for our religion. Haha! You’re right, who’s to say. Big hugs! ❤️

  • @ginghamgirl9296
    @ginghamgirl9296 5 лет назад

Hey Gayle. Looks like you're having a ball altering this book. You always give me a giggle. Just a suggestion, as I know how frustrating "buckling" can be on your pages, I think it may have something to do with how far down in the groove of the binding you glued that little tuck spot on the page. It may be that the bulk down by the binding is causing issues. I noticed that on the other pages where you glued the collage pieces a little further up from the binding, it didn't seem to buckle.?? Maybe give it a try and see if that helps.

I love your videos...am new to your channel, BUT, I wish you would number your videos Altered Book pt 1, pt 2, pt 3, etc. I missed out on some of the pages and that is sad! Prayers, by the way.

Straw paper is an Italian paper used for placemats from what I understand. I order mine from www.etsy.com/shop/RoxyCreations. ❤️

Where do you get the straw paper? When I put it in search boxes all I get is drinking straws.

Those vellum sheets have Artymaze Nature Walk on them. Hope they didn't copy hers without consent.
Love your series of altered books

Argh! I thought it was AliExpress that stole designs. I haven’t ever bought from them because of that. I wonder if the Etsy shop buys from them then resells? Hmm. ☹️

I went through all 970 products looking for that vellum pack. After placing my order, I messaged her to see if she had that and the brown paper pack you had so I could add to my order. Lol. We will see. Enabler you! LOVE this shop!!! 🙃

Jodi Sterling I am so sad, Jodi, that this shop is selling items from AliExpress that have stolen the designs of Artymaze. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that when I bought the paper and showed it on video. 😟. I have been boycotting AliExpress for this reason and now will do so with this shop too. I only regret I didn’t realize before this video. Just share as an FYI for you. Thanks for being such a regular viewer, Jodi! I appreciate you! ❤️

How long did it take you to realize the doilies on the first pocket matched up at the bottom?
